Good points @Liver_bird. I still think those missed chances wouldn't have happened in the prem league though, and they do point to that slight mental block or anxiety that can come in with playing the biggest sides in the biggest games, which is still there in English clubs mentality and the technical/tactical side.

Liverpool did well though, fair play to you guys. You are in a tough position now though with not being able to rest many players if any before Tuesday night. At least you know where you stand and can put everything into these next two games.

Be interesting to see what happens, and I'm sure you'll be watching through your fingers at many points!

As much as I'm enjoying the idea they'll end up trophyless, I can't shake the feeling they'll end up with at least one of them. Just to be one last kick in the nuts that has been this season.
I wish I was as confident as you are of this happening. Unfortunately for us, I just cant see Leicester doing us any favours and Brighton certainly won't so the league is gone. Barca being 3-0 up is effectively game over for us as well. Everyone was saying that City would turn a 3-0 deficit around against us last season but it's just not that simple.
Would be very happy to be proved wrong on both counts but I just can't see it

To beat Barca by 3 or more goals we're going to have to play at great intensity for most of the match. With it being our 3rd game in 6 days I can't really see it happening. The PL is probably our only realistic target, but our destiny there lays in the hands of other clubs. Within the space of a few days Rafa could end our title dream, & Barcelona will probably see us off on Tuesday night. Tell you what though. I'll never holiday in Benidorm again if the worse happens. That'll show the Spanish c**ts.

Liverpool vs Barca isnt over yet. Because 90 minutes is alot of time for some thing to happen. Teams as good as Barca have conceded tons in matter of 10 mins. Bayern vs Manchester United final, AC Milan vs Liverpool CL Final, City vs Spurs QF, Paris vs Barca, Barca vs Roma and so on.

Ofcourse liverpool need to be at their best as a team and as a club, get some luck too. Lets say if liverpool gets lucky first goal in first 10 mins it will leave them with 80 minutes to scored 2 to draw or 3 to go through. Idk if liverpool can score thise goals or not but if liverpool can outrun, out-possess Barca at camp nou then Barca wont enjoy the tie that much at anfield.

Knock out matches are very different from league matches you feel more pressure and players give more effort in these games.

Please shut up, :D.

Why are these Scouse nutters claiming Messi dived and then punched Fabinho in the incident which lead to Messi scoring the free-kick on Wednesday night? Fabinho blatantly blocked him, ffs, and it wasn’t his first frontal block of a third-man Messi run in the game either. I recall a blatant block by Fabinho on Messi in the first half which the officials either didn’t see or ignored.
That's a common trait among Brazilian defensive midfielders.

Really hope Rafa scabs a draw tonight and City put it to bed on Monday.

Sick of this shitty season and the seemingly never-ending chance of the scousers winning the league is the worst aspect of all.

Benitez, the prick, should be motivated.

If I was a former manager who bottled the league the last thing I'd be doing is bending over for the new manager to achieve that goal.

Spite would motivate me!

I hope the chubby cockface tells his Newcastle players to get right in their faces and go for it. I hope dislocated jaw cockface gets served humble pie.

This. Go on Fat Rafa!

After brexit, the Spanish won’t be giving scousers tourist visas

Blame it on The Fountain

Doubt they'll win it but I think they've done well to push things to the last day.

Last season Man. City were the best team in the country by miles and miles and this was reflected in league table. Finished 19 points ahead of 2nd, 23 ahead of 3rd etc.

Now Man. City haven't been as good this year but they're going to finish just two points shy of that 100 point total so still an exceptional level given even the best SAF sides eased up on 90 points. A Mourinho side also once won the league with 94 points and that was a brilliant achievement.

Not happening for Liverpool but they need to remain ready for a season when 85-90 points wins the league again, whenever that may be.

They wouldn't be close to City without their massive amount of luck this season.

VAR next season will have them back down where the belong

Liverpool have won but are absolutely knackered after that game and the tie with Barca has become even more difficult that it was prior to Newcastle. And Salah might miss the next 2 games. They'd have hoped for a much easier win. It still can help them if City slip up against Leicester though.

Does anyone else feel it's just written in the stars that they win it..

I don't think I've ever seen a team have this much luck.

This season won’t end without a slip up by either City or Liverpool. No way two teams win so many games back to back right to the end.

Tonight was the most likely time for it to happen to Liverpool and they pulled off the 3 points (the cnuts).

I fully expect City to bottle one of their last two games and drop points. A 30 shots on goal but keeper has a worldie, shots cleared off the line, denied by woodwork multiple times game. You know the type of game I mean.

Mark my words, it’s coming. All the signs of a Liverpool title win have been there at many points this season (freakish late goals against Everton and Spurs come to kind).

God help us all.

Nah not to worry.
There is no way City are going to bottle the title. They’ll win tomorrow, where as Pool I can see being given a game against Wolves & struggling.

Good bless you Niall.

Liverpool will be repaying the football gods for years after all the luck they’ve received this season yet it still doesn’t guarantee them the title.

Unbelievable.

I see what you did there.

Watch Salah make a full recovery for the Barca game.
If they pull that off.....my god, I think I will commit suicide!

They'll be dead on their legs in the final 20 minutes or so. If Barca need a goal, they'll get it. And Salah is unlikely to be ready.

Burnley and Leicester were the ones I thought/could see City dropping points to.If City get the win monday night its as good as done they will retain the title.

Carragher defending the freekick. Why can't he just say 'we got a bit of luck there'? Never once said a bad word about Liverpool.
