When Leicester won the premier league they actually played well the whole season.

If Liverpool won the premier league this year it will be one of the flukey win ever in the history.

Unbelievable!

Would be one of the worst ever winners if they win it. They’ve lucked out so many times and they’re awful to watch. Hilarious really.

Just seen the replay again of Spurs goal. The ball is barely moving by the time it's hit by Kane. Absolutely straw clutching there.

Keep saying it, it's the little games where City and Liverpool will drop unexpected points, I just knew Spurs wouldn't win today. Southampton away could be tricky, as could City's game against Palace.

You make your own luck in football, how may times do you see the ball go through the defenders legs into the goal? do strikers aim to do that or do they just hit in that direction and hope for the best?

Nah, that's naive. You may be better and force mistakes. But Spurs were the better team in the second half and created more chances.

We're on course for 90+ points and have a fantastic defensive record. Leicester won it with 81 points. The lucky narrative is sounding incredibly bitter.

They deserved to win that tbh overall edged the game for me but boy are they riding their luck a bit with that goal.

Far better to watch than the shite you’s serve up every week. Mind numbingly boring football with shitty luck constantly needed. Comparing to Leicester is odd considering it was a freak, anomaly of a season. City are a far better watch than Klopp’s dire stuff.

What is it about playing Liverpool that makes keepers turn to shit? The amount of times they've had goals gifted to them by incompetent keepers is bizarre.

Because you were lucky. Normaly you wouldn't win so many pts. Think Liverpool are excellent this season but not 90+ pts excellent.

fully aware of that but people on here complaining about Liverpool being lucky when it happens to all teams.

People just haven't forgotten how much Liverpool supporters love to bemoan their bad luck (counting the woodwork strikes famously) or point to corrupt officials. Watching this season, it's pretty rich.

When was the last time when a team competing for the title was that lucky?

United might have been lucky last season but did not really challenge, the title was sealed already in December.

Isn't that the point though. The reason you are on course for that many points is because about 12 of the points you've already got thanks to ridiculous good fortune.

I don't think you can point to more than once when something went against you and cost you points all season.

They have had the most dodgy wins I can remember. They should be 9 points behind at least. BS 90th min goal vs Pickford and then an OG vs Spurs among other offside goals.

They must have done some sacrifices before the season began.

Their luck has been outrageous this season - I don't think even the most one eyed Pool fan can argue that when....
  1. Sturridge (who hasn't done a thing in years) scores a worldie late equaliser at Chelsea
  2. Mahrez misses a last min pen at Anfield
  3. Pickford drops it in last min at Anfield
  4. Today
  5. At least 3 other keeper howlers
  6. Star players of teams not playing against them
  7. Next to no key injuries - Front 3, Van D and the keeper missing next to no games all season.

However, City will still be top if they beat Cardiff at home midweek.

If I were a Pool fan, i'd still say that line and think, wow. That's with everything going for them all season.

Looking at Liverpool's remaining fixtures can only see them dropping points Vs Chelsea (who are trash and may focus on Europa) and wolves (who may be fully focused on fa cup final by the time the game comes around)

Saints and Newcastle will be tough but they will beat both

Should have lost against us as well despite them having most of the ball and our injury crisis.

We've lost once this season and conceded the least in the league. I would've thought by this stage of the season you guys would have dropped the whole lucky thing. Look at ours and City's goal difference in comparison to the rest. That's two dominant sides in the league, deservedly neck and neck.

Mahrez penalty-miss, against West Ham offside goal, Pickford, Rico, Lloris+Alderweireld+Sissoko(miss), unbelievable "no penalty" call against Spurs in last min in 2-1 win, Huddersfield regular goal canceled, Sturridge wonder-goal vs Chelsea, Shaqiri 2 times deflected vs us (the win was deserved tbh), Smalling not wanting to hit the ball in last min vs Liverpool, Fulham goal wrong offside call and countering for the 1-0 - this luck is really incredible. They will win it this year, otherwise it will be hard for them to challenge like that again next year.

@BigRedScouser
Nobody says that you don't deserve 2nd place, but City is playing far far better. While they lose games like Crystal Palace, where Palace score 3 from 2 chances, you win often lucky.

If it's not this year, it'll be quite awhile till it happens. Not much more could go in their favour, it's unbelievable to think with all this luck they've had that they could end up not winning it.

I think City will win every single game for the rest of the season.

In the form their in at the moment no one comes even close to them. I'm not worried about Liverpool winning the league at all, worse goal difference as well. Liverpool winning the league is very unlikely. Man City simply got a much better team and a much better manager.

United having 3 injuries in the first half against them too.

How does that make any sense? You continue to get lucky results - it will continue to be commented on. Even Sour Souness is talking about how Liverpool can't keep getting results like this.

Imagine Chelsea at home, 1:1, 93rd minute or so, Henderson loses the ball near the centre circle, Hazard takes it and scores a winner ala Demba Ba.

I’m convinced we’re going to fall short. City look like a better side than we are.

They're definitely a better side, but all it takes is one "slip" as it were.
And you've got one of your 2 hard games done now.

City having the FA cup on top doesn't help

Kompany tackle on Salah?
Pen not given for us vs Leicester?
Townsend handball before they scored?

There's 3 off the top of my head there's been plenty. Like many united fans you can't give us credit, so you try and downplay our achievements with it's all "luck".
