I think game fatigue could be City's biggest enemy in the run-in. Assuming they get past Spurs in the CL, they'll have something like 13 matches to play in a 6 week period. That's almost a game every 3 days. Even with their massive squad there still are a few imponderables that need to be taken into account. One of them being what effect will mental tiredness have on the players ? We've seen them switch off a few times this season when their focus has slipped. There's no guarantee it won't happen again, especially with the games coming thick & fast. We just have to try & keep the pressure on them.
"Assuming City get passed spurs In the CL, they will have 13 games in 6 weeks".
So how many more games will that be than Liverpool, when they beat Porto in the CL?

I can't believe I am saying this but any of you don't mind Liverpool winning the league now to stop City from winning the Quadruple? City is nailed on favourites to win the FA Cup now that we are knocked out, pissed me off that we knocked out Arsenal and Chelsea for them. They are also the number one favourites to win the Champions League.

I understand that as a proper Man Utd fan, you should NEVER ever want Liverpool to win the league for obvious reason but I feel like there comes a time in history they are going to win it, murphy's law so why not now? City winning the Quadruple would top our 1999 treble win and take some gloss off it. Now this City team will be talked about as the greatest ever team in history in England. I really want us to continue holding that prestige and record of being the only English team to win the treble, and when I meant treble - I meant the real treble.

This seriously sickens me and I can't believe Kompany's prediction is coming true. Never thought that another English team could win the treble again after us, never mind a quadruple.

Working on the basis that we get past Porto City will have 2 more games to play than us. Might not seem a lot, but 2 extra games in such a short time-frame could be their undoing. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part, but I still think Man City, just like us, have an implosion in them. Here's the fixture list for both sides :

Most stonewall Pen the dippers have had all season. Did you not watch the game?
Did you even watch it from the right angle replay? Keeper let go of him early, not enough to go down. Mané laughed walking away from it after diving. Might be a penalty since the intent from the keeper was so obvious early after losing the ball, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a dive in there. Very soft.

So what if the keeper let him go? He grabbed him, even if it's half a second it's long enough for another player to get to the ball before Mane. If a player doesn't go down he doesn't get a pen it's simple, can't believe some people are failing to grasp this.

I've seen people doing the opening dance of their wedding less tangled up than Mane and the goalkeeper yesterday. As brainless as Pickford the other weekend.

Compare the contact to what you see on the regular on set pieces and I don't think it is a penalty.

Shaqiri pulls out of international duty due to an "inflammation in the pubic area" That's a new one for me.

You'd be absolutely livid if it wasn't given for your team. It's as clear as day.

Think you might be surprised to see how much more minutes your front 3 has played in comparision to City's. Probably 15 full games between them. And the same trend will likely continue in April if both teams avoid injuries. City rotate more and their key players will have played fewer minutes than Liverpool's come May.

Now, your main players might turn out to be fitter and fresher than City's and win the title but truth is they will have played more minutes, even in April, provided both teams stay injury free.

Liverpool have more chance of beating Porto than City do have of beating Spurs.

As a Liverpool fan, which fixtures do you see where Liverpool may drop points?

Porto will be up for this as payback for the 5-0 last year I reckon. Plus, our attackers are not firing like last year.

I'm looking at it purely from a 'mental fatigue' point of view with regards to the City team as a whole. Top class footballers are extremely fit, so having 2 to 3 days recovery between games shouldn't be a problem in the physical respect. What we can't say with any certainty is how they'll cope mentally with the added pressure of playing so many games in a relatively short space of time. Of course, it could be us that cracks, who knows. But - I'm hoping more than anything else - that City's busier fixture list (assuming they get past Spurs in the CL) might work in our favour.

Spurs, Southampton, Chelsea, even Cardiff away are all ones that worry me. Newcastle away is also a very tricky one. If they're safe from relegation it might be a different story. Overall though I reckon we'll finish on 91 points & City will win it with 94. Think we'll both lose at least once & draw at least once.

Lets face it, if that happened outside the area it's a foul all day long.

I see your point and can't say that it is not valid. At the same time your best period this season was between PSG away and City away when you won something like 8-9 games, most of them quite difficult, without experiencing much fatigue. What's more, your physical form peaked against City where you ran 122 km which might be a record for you under Klopp. The pressure on both teams is huge now but whether it will help or harm their chances is difficult to tell.

Only when players take a soft fall or even dive. Very often you see small and technical players fall to ground and get a free kick over any contact, while players who are bigger and stronger literally tries to keep balance and when they are outmuscled and dispossessed from a fully reached out arm, no free kick.

Think the Chelsea fixture has come at a good time. They play in the Europa league on Thursday , before they play you lot on Sunday.

You may as well just throw your oar in for a Liverpool League and Champions league double just to be sure City dont get a quadruple! ;)

Robertson to miss the game against the greatest country in the world to have a minor mouth operation. Works for me

It's a shame City are competing with this Liverpool side as under normal circumstances I'd be quite happy to see them do well. I find their current team quite hard to dislike, aside from Klopp and one or two exceptions like Lovren. My instinct is that the title race is going to be decided at Old Trafford. If City win there I'd be confident that we wouldn't drop any more points than Liverpool in our other games. However, if we draw or lose, I reckon it's Liverpool's. From our fixture's I'm most worried by United and Palace away. For Liverpool I'm hoping that they'll drop points in a combination of Spurs/Chelsea and Cardiff/Southampton.

Well, then it's Liverpool's title mate.

Let's say, we play out of our skins and pull off another miracle besting Barcelona. Our reward is two heart-attack inducing, and probably very dire games with Liverpool. Urgh!

I had a cheeky bet on City to win the quadruple at 10/1. Whoever team I bet this year, they are getting knocked out left, right and center so your wish might come true!

Yeah I regularly back against the team I support because if they lose you get money! I would gladly take happiness over money though....

I had £100 on Liverpool to win the CL last year at 12-1. I was over the moon when they lost.

For those who missed it. That Milan line-up :drool::drool:

Paedophile ex footballer adam Johnson was released from prison today, everyone deserves a second chance, and as such he has been offered a 3 year contract with Liverpool . A spokesman for mr Johnson said Adam is over the moon to receive such an offer and is very grateful, but after careful consideration he has declined the offer from Liverpool stating that he has already bought to much shame and embarrassment on his family

You know that joke is 3 times older than you? It's been going around for 36 years.

Is this for real?! I doubt he can play professional football again.

Why the hell would we sign a 31 year old nonce who barely made it for Sunderland & hasn't played for 3 years? :D
