It's not all about them being jammy hoofball cnuts like in the 2nd half today.

The front 3 are very dangerous & the tactics are fantastic - and I think I finally understand them too. You can't just sit off them like Spurs did first half, they make it very difficult for you to ever get out up the park. And you can't press them back assertively or they'll break on you or hoof it for Cheaty Mo & Mane to chase.

Their MF does feck all apart from create the structure of the game with their positioning, they don't play at all, really.

The second half was looking very tough for Liverpool

Look at it this way when they don't win the league (because I don't think they will) they won't get the luck or consistency they've had this season next so I expect them to fall away hard

Imagine Chelsea at home, 1:1, 93rd minute or so, Henderson loses the ball near the centre circle, Hazard takes it and scores a winner ala Demba Ba.

Is this the real life, is this just fantasy?

Imagine that Rafa's Newcastle takes pts off them and they lose the title because of it. Highly unlikely but would be quite funny.

Their reaction is pretty funny given the fact they won’t even be top by mid week.

Think you’re fairly safe to assume that Rafa will bend Newcastle over throughly lubbed for Liverpool!!

Watching the end of Harry Potter, I would love it if Richard Scudamore pulled a Dumbledore and awarded another team points which meant Liverpool couldn't be champions.

"Yes, Yes, well done Liverpool

However,..."

Still in cities hand, another lucky game for Liverpool after fulham, still think city will win it!

Southampton away or Chelsea at home - 2 games where they really need to drop points in. At least one. If they win both (and in doing so the rest of the games) then the title is theirs imo. I dont think City will beat us at Old Trafford so that's pretty much that.
Long way to go of course, but especially after today I think theyll win.

A lot of talk about Liverpool riding their luck but the Spurs goal involved a typical Harry Kane dive and then playing a moving ball.

I think City will win every single game for the rest of the season.

In the form their in at the moment no one comes even close to them. I'm not worried about Liverpool winning the league at all, worse goal difference as well. Liverpool winning the league is very unlikely. Man City simply got a much better team and a much better manager.

The only way City lose the league is through fixture pile up imo.

And hopefully city don't because we need the points. Spurs really should have won today.

I'm not so sure. At this point, I'm feeling like I can't celebrate a win against City at OT, and neither will I root for a loss of course. Very annoying.

If Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs drop points on that weekend, honestly wouldn't mind a gentle roll-over for the greater good, even if it makes me guilty for saying it.

Pool should be add one more option, "Liverpool slips away again"

I am really do not understand how can Manchester United fans forum put thread with title and pooling like this for almost half of a season. It looks like praying for them to win the title.

The fixtures are better for Liverpool & fewer of them. They look like the favourites to me. Possibly not by much, but any dropped points really hurt now.

It's more important for us to make the top 4 than stopping Liverpool from winning it. Without CL footy we might struggle in the transfer market. So, we'll try to beat City or at least win a point. I think City might be in a better physical condition for this game though. They have 4 days rest prior to the game, we only 3 days after Everton away which is gonna be a physically draining game as Everton will be fresh and they are among the better teams in terms of running. They'll give us a game.

Yeah. Guardiola is probably the perfect league manager given the required funds and players. TBH you guys are fortunate to have this City side in the league when Liverpool is looking the strongest since decades and you are in one of the worst spells ever.

Yeah, we are very fortunate to come up against a City scoring a record breaking 100 points last year!

:wenger:

Absurdly lucky season. Don't think I've ever seen a campaign with consistent luck.

Well we were unfortunate to meet possibly the greatest club team ever in two CL finals as well.

City will drop points to Palace in a couple weeks, so I think Liverpool will actually win the league, which is shite.

Except for the fact that we’ve made better signings without CL in recent years.

I'm not sure that no Cl footy would have no bearing on our transfer dealings. Mourinho was still a big name and his appointment was promising big success. If we fail to secure CL for next season, I don't think it wouldn't harm our transfer summer. In any case, Ole, the players and the board will want us to be in the CL next season even if this means Liverpool winning the title.

I’m not sure how I feel about it if it’s a straight choice between a CL place or Liverpool 19.

I was just making the point that CL or not has little impact on ours summer plans IMO. Ultimately we have the cash to outspend most teams, those who we can’t outspend, we are unlikely to beat them to signings with or without CL.

I can imagine Sancho hesititating whether to come if we offer no CL next season or wait for another season and see the direction we are heading under Ole.

It could be a factor, but I just don’t think it’d be a very big one. Hopefully Chelsea and Spurs continue to drop points and we don’t need to worry about that game

It’s looking all grimly inevitable right now but so was it in 2013/14

What this campaign seems to lack compared to that one is a sense of scouse enjoyment and media insanity, probably lessons learnt from 5 years ago.

City can win this but I worry they’re going to fumble mid week - it’s their first opportunity to go outright top for a while as far as I recall and it’s inevitable that they will have a lapse of concentration at some point. I think this might be it.

In a weird way if city win it’s somehow more impressive than last year in that they’ve managed a similar level of points whilst having to chase for the second half of the season.

Last season they were phenomenal but had basically no pressure in the second half of the year and just romped to the title. This time around they’re steadily dispatching teams week after week and still never gaining much ground on Liverpool, which should be demoralising but doesn’t seem to affect them.

Also for Pep to be able to motivate them to another title (if he is able to this year) is impressive given that last year might have led to them resting on their laurels somewhat.

Stumble at home to Cardiff? No chance, they'll be up 2-0 or 3-0 at the half and easily see the game out. I know Cardiff is still in the relegation scrap and came close to beating Chelsea yesterday but City at the Etihad normally doens't have any problems with this kind of games.

If they have to stumble, it'll be the second half of April. @ Palace, vs Tottenham for the third time in less than two weeks, @ United and @ Burnley. All in the space of 2 weeks. I'm condifent they'll at least drop points one more time somewhere but I think we will as well so doubt it'll be enough to win the title.

Everyone is saying Liverpool's fixtures look easy.
But the way City's fixtures have fallen it may not be so bad.
The 3 fixtures which everyone thinks they may drop points.
Palace (a)
Spurs (h)
Utd (a)
The Palace away game is on Sunday, their 1st leg CL game before that is Tuesday. (5 day gap)
They play spurs at home on Saturday with their 2nd Leg CL , against the same team is on Wednesday. So the so called CL effect won't be at a disadvantage to City as Spurs will be in the same boat, who won't be able to make as much changes as City.
And finally the Utd away game, city will have an extra day , as Utd have a tricky away game against Everton on the Sunday before. (City play spurs on sat).
