They almost won the game from another offside.

Klopp is disgusting, he deserves to be in there until the end and then go on to lose everything in the final game.

Its still amazing Liverpool have only conceded 15 goals all year. That's staggering defensive improvement.

You mean defensive depth, surely?

Your first choice attackers have remained fit throughout the season.

Nah. Defensively, we were just unlucky having 3 of our 4 CBs injured at once - Shite like that happens very rarely, and it's a bit of a whatever. HOWEVER, sending Clyne out on loan, even if he asked for it, was one of the dumbest things we did, and I said as much at the time.

Our forwards are stale**, just like folks say about Kane been ran into the ground by Poch. If they had a game or two off, they'd come back & perform, I've no doubt about it... But who will play in their place? Origi? Sturridge? We need fresh ideas, different options... We need a spark to come in & offer genuine competition.

It’s bloody difficult winning the league. It’s all in the head for a lot of players. Mentality is key and it’s something City have in spades.

Liverpool look weary physically and mentally.

You've had something like 2 games in 3 weeks?
How are you tired? Especially when you go out of the cups so early.

City will take it. 3p is nothing, and we don't have the squad, or the mentality they do. For us it means everything, they don't feel the same pressure.

We need Leicester-luck to win it, meaning no injuries to key players. Our starting 11 today was very reduced. Milner on right back, Lallana who's barely played the last 2 years in midfield. Doesn't cut it.

Excuses. Klopp drops out of the cups early so you have less games to play.

Your team went on a 10 day chill in Dubai ffs!

It’s always excuses with you lot.

I worry about City against the "smaller teams". Like they can't motivate themselves enough. Their defence is leaking too many goals as well.

Not looking forward to the Liverpool game at Old Trafford. Nervous as hell.

Liverpool 2018/2019: They Dared To Dream.... Again.

It’s all on us now to beat them and eliminate that gap. Hopefully Chelsea and Arsenal both feck up during the next few weeks so we can afford to tank the game vs City, hard as it is to swallow.

Perhaps stale is a better word. Our play looks slower & lethargic, & it's hard to think that adding new offensive talent to the squad wouldn't help that out.

/shrug, I'm not really arsed, I won a bet tonight betting against us  And I also bet on us to have a trophyless season after Newcastle beat City. It's all good.

I think it's the midfield where your problems lie from both a defensive and offensive standpoint. The likes of Fabinho, Keita, Henderson among others are simply not title challenging material. Too often Liverpool relies on Salah, Mane and Firminho to both create and score the goals, and when they are out of form the team suffers big time.

You should count yourselves lucky that those three have remained injury free.

A blip was going to happen at some
stage. City still favourites for me but I think we'll win the next couple. I'll just enjoy the ride.

Hendo is a decent rotation player, & Fabinho has been alright for his first season in the Premier League. Keita isn't good enough for a midtable side right now, though. I'm shocked by how trash he's been.

But yeah, we've definitely been fortunate with the front 3 remaining injury free.

Their play looks tired, not the players themselves. They need fresh blood to freshen their ideas up. We were linked with Immobile in the January window... Imagine having someone like that to come in instead of Origi?

When Leicester won the league, through 25 matches they were ahead of Spurs by 5 points. The smallest gap was 2. Then extended to 5, 7 and 10 as Leicester never relinquished top position.

League is truly wide, wide open. City to go top on GD if they beat Everton midweek.

Would be just like Everton to do Liverpool a favour in midweek against City to relief the pressure that’s starting to build.

Heavy metal football..? :wenger:

Yet again some people will have to recalibrate their views. As of a couple of weeks ago Liverpool were supposedly impossible to catch, now City are 3 pts away.

I’m not ruling out a full implosion on both their parts... a bit of black magic and we could be in pole position :D

They're still going to win it.

Hang on a second. Weren't you saying that going out of the cups early will let you concentrate on the league? Now 1 game a week is too much for your players?

They're predictable. Out of ideas. Stale. Our front 3 needs freshening it up. It needs a new face to come in & challenge for spots, bring ideas to the table, offer something different. It's not about physical fatigue as much as it is mental fragility, in my opinion.

We've a pretty soft team mentality. There's very few winners in that dressing room compared to in the Man City team, and honestly, if Liverpool do bottle it this season, I think they'll really struggle next year. Losing two major cups in back to back seasons would be a hell of an issue for Klopp.

This is not surprising. In the last few games, too many players driving towards the penalty box and being afraid to shoot. We don't half a player like Countiho taking finessed shots outside the box either now.

He's run that front three into the ground and the backing cast are a complete waste of time. I wouldn't be surprised to see the drop into third before the end of March.

Can't wait for the game at Old Trafford now.
