I'm worried about our form. Our defensive solidity has suddenly looked wobbly. Big game against West Ham now and it doesn't even matter what City do against Arsenal, we will be wasting time expecting Arsenal to get points at City because they can't even keep a clean sheet away. Suddenly, the game after next against Bournemouth looks tricky as well.

City should take confidence from last night, Liverpool have finally failed to grind out another win against the fodder. Now it's happened once it can happen again. They just need to sort their own shit out as even now Liverpool still wont drop too many points

I can't read all the posts but have to say, Liverpool cleaning the snow only from Leicester's half on hafltime so that they can attack freely is embarrassing.

New here, first post.

Disappointing result last night, however I guess it still leaves us in a stronger position than we were before this round of fixtures, we all would have taken that before City played Newcastle.

The title race is far from over. There are 14 games and 42 points still to play for, anything could still happen. As we have seen, City seem capable of dropping points to anyone, at home or away. We will drop points as well as the season goes on, with tired legs, tired minds, and pressure being a huge factor. We are obviously in a strong position and it is more than any of us Liverpool fans could have asked for before the season started, but I am absolutely not getting ahead of myself - 13/14 has taught me that much!

There are obviously key games left for both teams: United, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton, etc. But as we have seen this season, and in the past, the smaller teams can have a massive say in the title race as well.

Overall I am enjoying the ride and hope we can actually do it this season. United, do us a favour and for once just let us win at Old Trafford and repeat your result against City last season please!

Enjoy your long and prosperous time as a member of the forum.

I would love to see a photoshopped picture of the perfect conditions to perform for a Klopp team. The one half of the pitch has a roof, men working cutting the grass, trees around to stop the wind, sun rays shining through etc.. The other half is covered in snow with a bonafide storm going on. Picture could also potentially have one of those faces up in the clouds.

I'm surprised more hasnt been made of that, seems really small time.

It's the sort of antics you'd expect from a lower league team playing a PL team in the FA cup.
It IS small time and embarrassing.. Can't believe we actually did that. I hope someone higher up makes sure we don't do such a thing again.

They've looked average and boring the times I've seen them. Think they've been very lucky this season.

Still can't quite believe they only cleared one half of the pitch for the 2nd half last night, and then Klopp STILL moans about the conditions hindering his players.
Maybe a pitch with a retractable roof and temperature controls for next season will keep him happy.

I think that us being average and boring is why we're top of the league. Our gung-ho approach in previous seasons has left us found wanting defensively. It's almost impossible to win the league with a poor defense so I'm actually happy we've toned things down a bit.

I think luck evens itself out over a season personally.

It was small time that we did that but it's like at some grounds where the home dug out has heated seats and the away doesn't. I'm sure Old Trafford is one of these. You take any small advantage that you can. Sometimes it pays off, other times it doesn't but you do what you can to win.

Apparently lots of teams work on only one side at HT and its obviously the one that the home team are attacking into so not sure what all the fuss is!

Isnt it weird that we have a much better defensive unit this year yet we have tightened up all over the pitch,im obviously delighted that we are top atm,but wouldnt you think that as we have a better team this year Klopp would let the front 3 off the reins?

I'm not sure leaving the snow on at the end you are defending is the best idea anyway.

It does look a bit odd, though.

I don’t think the groundsmen clearing the snow is smalltime, this kind of stuff happens all the time. Even Pep had the grass longer to slow down our counter attacks. As far as I’m concerned, you are free to do what you like at your home ground, within reason of course. If I had my way, I’d make it as hostile and difficult as possible for visiting teams.

If Liverpool do win the league, are we seeing the beginning of an era of domination?

Klopp will be clear as the best manager in the league once Pep inevitably leaves. With a squad full of players hitting their prime years and tied down to long term deals and further improvements envisagable.
Amazing

It’s not, it’s small time.

That mentality died off years ago. It’s embarrassing.

Pains me to say, but would like to see City beat Arsenal. That’ll take the gap to 2 points with Liverpool to play West Ham away.

It’s not a straight forward fixture and West Ham have been blowing hot and cold recently, but I hope they’re up for it.

Pains me also to support West Ham.

This is an important weekend.

If this was done during Mourinho's time you'd be sure there would've been a whole ruckus on social media and here. Thankfully now the vibe at the club is much more positive, along with Pogba's form improving, that there isn't any drama being created about this.

Christ, you're cringe.

How did they play against Leicester?

They've been a bit average lately and surprised they didn't dip into the market to get some defenders. Or did they and I didn't see it?

Another thing I dislike, however, I'm on a united forum so fair enough.

But, the league isn't Liverpools. I know you all want us to fail etc but very few Liverpool fans are saying the league is ours.

I said to an Evertonian mate the other week that we can't win either way.

We say the title race is wide open and get laughed at...or We say yeah I think we will win the league... We get laughed at.

It's open, all I know is Tottenham won't win it. (yeah... feck off spurs) oh and I hope united offer poch 400k a week and something called MONEY to spend in the market.

And before any spurs fans say your in top 4, in CL and the cups.... You won f all last season or the 1000 years before that and you decide not to push on and invest some cash in your squad. Rant over.

Probably learning their lessons from the last 30 years of shouting the roof tops ‘it’s our year’. Aren’t tickets for your last game of the season already selling for thousands?

Plus my office Liverpool fans just loving talking about football this season. I wouldn’t have even known they were football fans before. Their is definitely a self confidence in most fans.

People comlaining that Pogba takes a photo with Salah is the pinnacle of feckwittery.

And massively underrated. The teams that retained 3 titles in a row are never contenders for best Premier League sides.
Think the oil money plays a part too honestly. The premier league has quite a few very rich clubs currently. 20 years ago Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Spurs were all mediocre / shite. Now they're all rich with strong squads.

Oil money being a bit shite aside, it makes for an awesome league.

The only team that has dominated the premier league for any extended period is United.

If Liverpool win the league I would be very surprised if they even came close to retaining it the season after. Klopp would also start getting eyelashes fluttered at him from behind the fans of Barcelona and Madrid. Given his buy in to the Liverpool mythology he'd probably turn them down to begin with but I could see him being attracted to Barcelona at some point.

Then it'll be full speed ahead for the Stevie G sentimental disaster years.

:D

The 1994 side, the 99-2001 side and the 2007-2009 sides were incredible. We who lived through those years were privileged, even if we didn't always realise it until years later.
