I hate the feckers but they’re the best team in the league and deserve to be top right now.

I agree, on form atm a notch above Cashiola. Time for city to throw 200mil at the xfer window.

@Niall If that promise you made was serious then please include these Man Utd "Supporters" Who wish Liverpool will win the league.

I think we can get away with a defeat at City. It’s not ideal but as long as we beat Brighton after that it’ll be fine.

I’m assuming that we won’t go the whole season unbeaten so our response to a defeat is what will decide it.

They haven't had a wobble or blip all season. Personally I hope the wobble starts with a loss to City, then by the time 24th Feb comes around, we have the chance to beat them and damage their title hopes and confidence.

I sense great fear in you my little green friend.

Everything has ran for them, that's why. Look at yesterday; Salah should have been banned and unavailable, Mane should have been sent off early on and they got yet another joke of a penalty.

If the officials did their job properly they would have lost yesterday. I've never seen a team get as lucky with decisions as they have this season.

You make you own luck on the pitch at the end of the day. Maybe they did have two soft penalties yesterday but that didn’t change the result, they absolutely battered Arsenal.

What I do get annoyed about is things like Salah’s persistent diving which he has done since he joined Liverpool. I can think back to the West Brom FA cup game when he dived and the pen was still awarded by VAR. He never gets called out for it because he’s a nice guy.

And stuff like Pickford handing them 3 points in the 90th minute, losing 3 away games in a Champions League group and still getting through. That sort of Lady Luck has shone down on them all season.

Damn! I was hoping City would lose again and suffer a complete meltdown with the press screaming 'CRISIS AT THE ETIHAD!' 'GUARDIOLA CONSIDERING BARCELONA RETURN!' 'AGUERO, SANE and DE BRUYNE WANTED AT MADRID'!!!!

City players never get linked with moves away. One of those bizarre things in the media. All their players have no interest in playing for an historic big club. I wonder why?

To all those crying about Liverpool getting the rub of the green with luck, & refereeing decisions going our way etc. This is a complete turnaround from last season when we suffered more than anyone with regards to things going against us. Manchester United - surprise, surprise - were the luckiest on that score. I don't recall too many on here commenting on that though, so please excuse us if we don't feel too bad about our good fortune this season. Long may it continue.

Whatever makes you feel better about being given the title mate.

This. The table is not reflective right now and City will win the league at a canter once our luck runs out and they get their players fit.
You know what mate plastic fans like you really p1ss me off and theirs plenty on here just like you, i don't know whether you are a UTD fan pretending to be a red or your'e making comments like that just to make yourself look good on here and fit in, "The table is not reflective right now" give it a rest, 21 games played, still unbeaten, 9 wins in a row and only 8 goals conceded and you think the table is not reflective, Liverpool are exactly we're they deserve to be, i know we have to respect the fact that this is a Man UTD site but when i joined i didn't see any rule saying you have to kiss arse to fit in, grow some balls and support your team.

Your memory is shite. Half this forum were saying we were flattering to deceive and in a false position last season.

Also that article you quoted does nothing to support your point. Liverpool being 'unlucky' made no difference to your season. You finished in the top 4 regardless.

On the other hand, the various non calls (against City and Spurs), favourable calls (multiple offside goals at 0-0, non-penalties given) and random luck (Pickford) would see you in and around Spurs and City, instead of with a 7 point lead.

For so many years fans from other clubs complained over Man Uniteds luck, dodgy penalties and favours from referees.. I seem to remember, that you, Man United fans, used to laugh at it and said something like teams make their own luck, that luck evens out over a season, that you got deflected goals because you had more shots, that you got more and dodgy penalties because you were more in the opponents area, that you got late goals because you never gave up, that it was laughable when other fans claimed that your succes was down to luck.

So now we are the lucky ones. The luckiest team ever

That's it in a nutshell Bro. Most sensible non-United fans could see that their success was down to them having a great manager, who built great sides that played great attacking football. We're just plain old lucky it seems.

Im pretty sure we went easy on them for the last 20 minutes. Which is fecking annoying as I had a 5er on 6-2.

This looks a bit cocky to me tbh.
Or cheeky..
It's true though, and I genuinely did have them bets on.

Top at Christmas and New Year. All previous teams recently have gone on to win the league, or so say the stats I keep seeing. Hard for them to slip up now, but I have faith they’ll find a way.

So in the space of a few days Salah and Mane both escape FA action:
Salah for blatantly diving;
Mane after appearing to put his hands round Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner's neck.

They really want them to win the League at all costs!

If they win the league let’s hope Real go balls deep for Klopp and Salah in the summer.

Do you really think Klopp would actually go to Real?

I don't see it. He's here for seven seasons, fulfilling his contract unless we go crap and we boot him out.

Mané should have had a red for that, no doubt. So should Lichtsteiner for his elbow straight in Manés face seconds before.

Salah was kicked on his legs twice before he went down. Why should he be punished for that??

I think he's referring to his dive in the game before

Agreed. We had a great manager and we mad sour own luck. It's not luck if it happens year after year after year. It can be lucky if it is the odd title win. But that aside I do think Liverpool have made their own luck in that they get into positions in the box which draw fouls and attack teams.

Don't embarrass yourself, you're a decent poster on here. Yes, it was soft but it wasn't a blatant dive. I'd have been angry if that had gone against us (see Everton's penalty last year that most on here thought was a blatant pen) but there was enough for Salah to go down. Salah had his achilles taken out by a Bournemouth player a few weeks back and stayed up.
As for Mane, it was stupid of him to do it and it could have resulted in a ban but the FA will have looked at it. According to MOTD, there was an elbow on Mane just before that so that may have gone in his favour

In the last 10 years the team finishing top at Christmas has won the league on 8 occasions. The other two times have been when Liverpool topped the league at Christmas. If anyone can feck it up, Liverpool can.

Ok.. That was a soft penalty, but the point remains the same. His arm was grabbed by a Newcastle player, so in no way could or should he be punished for that. If you think he's a twat for falling easy, fair enough, but his arm was grabbed, and that was stupid from the Newcastle player.

The run of games during end of september, starting with league cup defeat against chelsea, draw against them, defeat against Napoli, draw against City, all playing pretty poor offensive football was certainly more than a blip. Even the performance in 1-0 win over Huddersfield was dire.

Hyperbole too much, eh? Eerily similar to other fans' view of Howard Webb and Man United.

You have a very good team, and nobody is disputing that, but you're comfortably ahead of City (who are better) because you have had had absurd luck along the way.

Just look at yesterday for an example. If Mane is (rightfully) sent off then you lose that game. You've been getting that sort of luck all season.

Indeed that was certainly a bad period this season for us, a so called “blip” early on.

We were fortunate that we atleast managed to scrape results in the League because our football wasn’t great in all competitions, we just didn’t look capable of getting out of 2nd gear.

Come December and we hit form, scoring freely and blowing teams away comfortably.

We’ve played away at

Spurs
Chelsea
Arsenal

And we achieved results in each one of them

Things look good, but, there’s still a way to go

Thursday is insanely huge

But winnings three games at home. And that was enough to go through. What sort of example to sheer luck is that? Haven't you heard of percentage football before? Liverpool played exactly the percentage football to beat Napoli 1-0 (coupled with Alisson's save), although if Mane had a scoring boot that day, it would have been 4-1 easily.

Do you think Liverpool being top of the league is all part of some greater conspiracy?

You lot are starting to sound like Liverpool supporters in 90s/00s, where there was a pro-Utd conspiracy behind you winning title after title.
