Liverpool - 2017/18

So would Mane last season. Now he looks pretty average.

Players have good spells - doesn't mean they would get into every team in world football.

I do like Salah though.
You're not wrong in general, but I think Salah is way better than Mane last season.

Sure you can't guarantee that a player will make it at a top club - still if he keeps up his form big teams will be interested.

Interesting how negative teams are at Anfield, Man United of course and Chelsea also just set up with men behind the ball.

Away from home Liverpool conceded 3 at Watford and Arsenal, 5 at Man. City (o.k a Red card but that was for a striker) and 4 at Spurs.

They play with more energy and intensity and make fewer mistakes at home. They're very good at keeping and moving the ball, they have pace, technical skill and physicality throughout and their attacking players are always in motion and have great movement. Chelsea didn't set up to sit back and soak up pressure, liverpool pushed them back, and in the second half, intimidated them into staying back

70m? Wow. Suppose the money is irrelevant so long as he sorts out that horrid Liverpool defence.

Barring a collapse like last season, I can see them overtaking us. They control games better than we do.

We control games? Must be a joke, cause that's something we're one of the weakest clubs at. Hope VvD rumors are true, though. Not only our defenders are unreliable and injury-prone, we're not having enough of them in the squad at all.

Fed up with this .

I think we need complete new back 5. These guys lovren , mignolet ...might look decent for someone like moyes or even mourinho (calm down im not saying mourinho will sign them im saying they would improve in defensive systems) managers who prefer solid defensive systems or who play more rugged slow Pace football. With klopps high octane football these will always show mistakes. They can't handle the pace. Mignolet should have stopped that xhaka shot.

I'd happily pay 100 mill. Sick and tired of the same shit each weak. The only problem is we still don't have a reliable DM or an established keeper. If Karius isn't given the jersey i will well and truly lose it.

Van Dijk alone won't fix our defensive problems, we need a top DM + GK to calm our defence.. Then I think the teams complete especially with Keita coming in

Great control of the game against Arsenal after going 2 up.

70 million for VD is hilarious. He wont change much.

Remember when Klopp said he'd rather quit the sport than send Pogba-esque money on someone?
And since he said that, has spent £70m on a box-to-box defensive-minded midfielder and is aiming to spend £70m on a CENTRE-HALF.

Mug of a bloke. Complete arsehole.

However, those two signings will make Liverpool quite scary, IMO.

Times have changed, you can't buy decent players for 25m anymore. What you paid for Pogba is ~160m in today's market.
70m for VvD is a huge money, but name me a decent available CB that's cheaper.

Keita is about as defensive-minded as my arsehole
