In 2018, their best run of games without conceding is 2 games.
Whole season their best rum of games without conceding is 2 games.
Isn't it just. Plenty to say when a bus gets hit by missiles, but total silence when an innocent Liverpool supporter ends up in hospital after getting attacked by oppo fans. Now if it was a 53 year Roma fan fighting for his life.............

City have conceded 20 in 23 games
Spurs have conceded 21 in 23 games
Chelsea have conceded 21 in 23 games
Arsenal have conceded 34 in 23 games!!!
Bayern Munich have conceded 18 in 21 games
Barca have conceded 19 in 27 games
R Madrid have conceded 32 in 26 games!!!!
This year so far As you can see, Liverpool aren't amongst the worst defensively with regards to conceded goals to games played ratio

I mean, you're not among the worst if you don't count the bottom three as the worst.

He means that Mourinho sacrifices too much for the defensive aspect of your game, which results in a lack of goals sometimes, compared to City or Liverpool for example. I wonder who has the biggest net margin if you look at goals scored per game as well, probably not United even though you're leading the goals conceded per game category.

Karius and Lovren seriously need to be upgraded on. That nagging feeling of a sudden incoming defensive brainfart won't go away until they are. If we actually make it to the final, the thought of Lovren vs. Ronaldo makes me shudder.

Lovren is a conundrum. I hate his guts more than ever right now as I had him to score and Liverpool to win with both teams scoring a goal as well and I would have won over £500 had he scored that header. Simplest of headers. + allowing Dzeko to get in behind him was criminal.
I can live with him not scoring, but that attempt at simple defending was outrageous.

They score like 5 goals a game, and It's always expected. That front 3 is absolutely insane. At a point each of them were called flops by many. All 3 world class can't be denied now. Klopp has done exactly what he did at Dortmund.

I don't think any fan has ever been worried their team concedes too few goals though.
I definitely think we need to be more attacking if we want to overhaul City, in the same way Liverpool need to be better defensively if they want to win the title. Your game management can be pretty poor.
Karius was excellent in Germany and is ideally suited to playing in a high line system. He's also been excellent on crosses this season aswell .
He had a poor season last time out, but he was recovering from a broken wrist/hand which is I imagine not the easiest thing both physically and mentally for a goalkeeper.
What we need urgently is depth for the front three and tweaks in midfield as well as a no6.

Agree about the deafening silence on here in regards to the Sean Cox incident. Like you said if the reverse happened there'd be multiple threads calling for a European ban and calling us every name under the sun.
The De Rossi quote is taken out of context, the full quote he admits they couldn't deal with the pace and ferocity of our attacks.
Weird game initially I thought they'd set up deep here and high at home. Seems like it caught us by surprise too, midfield was nowhere for the first 20. Once we cottoned on and adjusted the tactics we wreaked havoc.
Im slightly nervous for the away leg but comforted by the fact they pretty much have to set up the exact same way again.
Unfortunately I doubt it will stop the Roma ultras, it's their first time in the latter stages of this competition in well over 30 years. Many will use that as a platform to show the world how violent and dangerous they can be.
Alisson and Pavard please. Should sort it out for us and won't need to worry for years about our defence after that assuming Pavard can hit the ground running and he certainly has the quality to.
Our issue this season is lack of backup to our front 3 and individual mistakes in defence. Most of the goals we've leaked are Lovren/Moreno/Gomez brainfarts or one of the midfielders (mostly Can) not tracking back actively. Also, our conceded per game with VvD playing dropped from around 1.1 to 0.8 (i don't remember exact numbers, but i looked that up a week ago).
We need to defend better and have adequate subs to be level with City in a long run. We're nowhere near atm.

100% agree with you. If we make it to the final I bet our bench will be absolutely dreadful :') It'll probably be Mignolet, Klavan, Clyne, Moreno, Woodburn, Solanke and Ings. What a joke :')
