Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Deserved to go out after that abject performance, barely any of the players even looked like they were trying.

Rodgers cost us big time with his slow reactions in the second half, it was clear that Besiktas were outplaying us but he did nothing until they scored.

Disagree. They were better for 45 minutes. We should have scored at least once in the first half and ended the tie.

We were better in the first half, true, but it's not like we actually threatened much. We were just the better of two sides not playing well, rather than playing like a team who deserved to go through.

Ah well, not that arsed. Better all round now we can concentrate on getting 3rd/4th and winning the FAC for Stevie !

That was poor. Hurts to go out on pens. A game too far in a busy schedule. Probably do top 4 ambitions good.

How can Sterling didnt take a penalty.Choosing Lovren to take it and that 5th even, that's a bad, bad decision.

Shocker day from Rodgers all round. Bad team sheet (Lallana to start was a must, could have brought Balo on later). No changes in midfield even though commentators that couldn't figure out which black guy was Sterling (small and slender) and which black guy was Ibe (longer hair and stocky) even figured this out.

Then not giving the 5th penalty (given, not asked) to Toure who won the African Nations cup by scoring one in the final. Rodgers' mind was elsewhere. It was almost like he couldn't give it a shit today. The players didn't look like they did.

So Liverpool get dumped out of 2 european cups at the first opportunity in the same season. If I'd known they were going to be this hilarious I wouldn't have been as arsed about them qualifying:lol:

No disrespect, but a pattern is emerging where Rodgers is responsible when things go well, but if things dont... he didnt give a shit?

No, losing tonight was all his fault. He could see it going wrong and still didn't change it (which is quite unlike him). Anyway, we're out our Europe and one route to CL qualification is gone.

IMO it's always a bad decision to let a defender take a crucial penalty, unless he's a specialist of course (like Denis Irwin). Who knows, maybe they wanted to go out.

What about the people that like to say if things go well it's down to Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling, etc and when they go wrong Rodgers is to blame?

Your lot definitely didn't seem likely to take control of the game in the latter stages. Besiktas seemed to be set up better and more likely to score. It's like you were playing for penalties.

Fair enough, probably misunderstood your post!

They're too bias.

Bit of a shambles from Dunkin' Donuts. Forgetting the Twitter accounts name for a second, look at the pic of his 'nan'.

I don't think it's that unlike him. Rodgers often deserves credit for devising great tactical plans that help us beat teams, but he's been guilty in the past of failing to react quick enough during games too. It's definitely a weak point of his at the minute.

They've been apologising non stop to everyone for 7 hours straight (check their tweets and replies). I doubt the person in charge of the account didn't even bother looking at the image.

What chance the twitter account is being run by an American who has no idea who Maggie Thatcher is

Totally agree on these posts @RobinLFC you dont know what youre talking about!
We were never going to win the Europa League. Hurts to go out on penalties but I'm not too fussed, rather go out now than in the last 16 or quarters. At least we can focus on top four and the FA Cup now.

Couldn't watch the game because I had training myself but some friends told me it was a bad performance on our behalf :( I hope we pull our act together come Sunday and beat City, that would be huge.

Be a bit rare, all Americans seem to lover her.

Not really, unless they are above 40. I doubt many Americans particularly those that aren't politically minded (only half vote in their own elections) would know who Maggie Thatcher is. Conversely I doubt many young Brits would recognise Jimmy Carter or even Ronald Reagan.

No joke, I was surprised at even younger people knowing her. Also whenever you see pictures of Churchill over there she often is nearby. It's amazing just how many TV progs and books etc. there is about her. No coincidence why Meryl Stroop wanted to play that part. Blair wanted to carve out the same reputation when he went off with Bush boy.

Some on here had you down as third favourites...

If Lovren had the balls to volunteer to take the penalty then you have to wonder why the supposed better penalty takers didn't put themselves forward before him?

I knew he'd miss before he struck the ball, you could see it in his face.

Lovren knew he's not the darling of Liverpool fans at the moment, that's why he volunteered, wanted to be a hero. Might've backfired though.

Very funny side Dipperpool. I was expecting some kind of performance given all the hype but last night was dross. Some Scouse pundits suggested Bagga-telly was playing well but it was not very interesting to watch. Besiktas have a manager who fired up his players with his very special motivational skills compared with Rodgers. If City continue to play well the Scousers might get a hiding.

I think City will win, but continue to play well? They haven't been great recently bar the Newcastle game.
