I've never liked Gerrard so I'm not claiming to be unbiased in my opinion of him but my God he was terrible yesterday. He looked and moved like an old man, it was embarrassing/hilarious. He can still provide quality from set pieces and he's a great penalty taker but in open play he offers nothing and he is a massive liability to them. The slip has crushed him I think, he seems to have aged about 10 years in the 6 months since then.
He's bordering on Gary Neville towards the end levels of awfulness.
Went to bed at 1-0. Surprised they lost 3-1 though. Must have been a pretty bad second half. Gerrard has to be benched, he cannot play that role at all (from a defensive perspective).
Imagine Fergie was so bored in retirement he decided to try put them back on their perch!

He looked like one of those old park players who go on too long and get simply brushed aside by younger, faster and fitter opponents.I've never liked Gerrard so I'm not claiming to be unbiased in my opinion of him but my God he was terrible yesterday.
I was shocked by how bad they've gotten too. The only games they've looked anywhere near last season's team is when they scored the 1st goal away from home, at Spurs and at QPR. Scoring first sets the game up perfectly for them, the opposition has to come at them which leaves space for Liverpool to break into so after Lambert's goal they made a mess of it.
Once Palace got back level they just sat 11 men in their own half, let Gerrard and their centre backs knock it around in their own half, no danger there. Palace were also very good at breaking up any Liverpool counter attacks when they did get caught with men forward, the ref was very lenient on this, the stats say Palace had 22 fouls and only 1 yellow card. Hull and Newcastle did the same thing against Liverpool this season, it might not be pretty but it certainly works.
Rodgers needs to come up with something different, teams have learned from last season that you don't want to get into an open, attacking game of football against Liverpool. You let them have the ball and frustrate them, then counter attack yourself as Liverpool push both full backs too far forward without adequate covering from Gerrard.

Unfortunately for them, it's Sarah.
Is that the Belgian striker beside Balotelli? I'd imagine it's been difficult for him to be a success for Liverpool while he's in France.
Just read the article and it's even worse than the tweet suggests.
Fact is he's bought in 24 players and only two are making a consistent impact.
They were awful against qpr, just got incredibly lucky. Sterling played well in that game and was the difference pretty much.I was shocked by how bad they've gotten too. As for how to play against them, you don't even need that anymore. Teams dominate them regularly these days, go forward a lot, or even get results by sitting back and countering. This season pretty much any style of play has worked and defeated them so far, they're awful going forwards, slow, can't make any chances, awful in midfield and getting overrun and out fought constantly, and then defensively and goalkeeper is probably their weakest point. I've seen almost all of their games so far, and the spurs game aside, there really hasn't been anything encouraging from their performances. Shit all around the pitch and no confidence or belief.
I'd argue that none of this summer's signings have been given the chance to make a consistent impact. Toure hasn't been a bad signing either, nor has Allen. There has to be a middle ground between good and bad.
That article also gave Mignolet a pass, despite him being shit.
He probably kicked it behind for a corner.

To be fair for them, they DID want to sing Alexis Sanchez for Suarez money, but he only wanted Arsenal. And other than him, there weren't any Suarez replacements available.
Thought they still should do better. Instead of Lallana (who may be decent, but not really needed with Coutinho and Sterling), they should've went for Schneiderlin.
Also, what happened to Flanagan? He looked decent last season, and decent defender for LFC is like great defender for them as for now.

This season looks like a write off for them unless Rodg can emulate KKK and win the league cup.
