Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Right, but it's not as if playing for England was some unusual cause for his injury, nor are international matches some unreasonable expectation to make of players. Rodgers has been acting as if asking his players to play for the country is outrageous and hugely costly to the club by definition. Players get injured, and he happened to get injured in the England shirt instead of the Liverpool shirt. The way they've acted all indignant about it ever since, as if they were exploited and abused, is frankly pathetic.

I don't think that's true. Obviously I have no first hand knowledge of Sturridge's fitness plan but what has annoyed Rodgers is that England don't listen to advice we give them about how to handle Sturridge on the training ground. He thinks that it's because of that Sturridge is repeatedly getting injured for England.

There's also the fact that the clown of a manager has owned up to playing an injured Sturridge in the past (which aggravated an injury) to "test his resolve".

I can understand why he's so pissed off with England's treatment.

I agree.

I said this in the other thread about Rodgers in that although it may be a little petty, it's understandable why he's annoyed at England. That's if the rumours about England ignoring the advice about Sturridge is true.

Both teams should be at their best by January and the second half of the season I think we'll see both sides steamrolling a couple of opposition teams, a lot of players need to gel in both teams and United will probably get a defender and a midfielder or two in January whereas Liverpool may have a look for some players too, either way second half of the season will be fun I reckon.
Yeah I think both sides will put together good runs and I hate excuses but the world cup and a huge influx of players can have big repurcussions on form initially. When they gel they will fire for a bit and like you say the run in could be fun. I sure hope it is.

He's a slower version of Mertersacker. He makes shit pacy players look like Messi (Armand Traore for example). Your next six games will show you what I mean.
That's rubbish mate. He's one of those players that grafts and is comfortable on the ball. I'd like to have him in a liverpool shirt.

Would you put him in DM ahead of Gerrard though ?
He would likely be perfect in your system and if you need to be more offensive later on then bring in a rested Ste me for latter stages.

They've been appalling again. Liverpool fans must be starting to get worried about the season...

We haven't played well in any area but what's annoying is how fecking often we're conceding from set pieces. They're one of the easiest areas to avoid conceding from but Rodgers is too stubborn to actually work on them.

Balotelli has been beyond useless tonight, 16 million bargain I have been hearing? Not worth a tenth of that

He's bang average. Great at pens and the odd wonder goal but I'd have Welbeck every time for the same price.

Agreed, Welbeck would actually have suited the Liverpool way of playing (well last season's way cause this season's is something I watched under Moyes this season)

It's hilarious that despite Balotelli being crap week in, week out Rodgers can't really take him off because Lambert' s even more useless.

Lallana has played well again since coming on. Looks their only good signing so far albeit overpriced.

Brentan's brilliant transfer strategy of buying half the Southampton squad is really paying dividends.

Sturridge is a big loss for them, Balotelli just isn't up to it as things stand

I can literally see anybody giving them a game right now. West Brom will get something at Anfield.

Fark me that was woeful. I predicted we should have rested Sterling for this one. Rodgers' desperation shone through tonight. And when he's desperate he doesn't think straight.

And wow was Balotelli beyond useless. The myth, exposed.

Wonder if Balotelli is LOLing tonight. He and liverpool are shite.

They actually played like Moyes' Manchester United tonight, I'd be worried if I was a Liverpool fan.

Liverpool being shit soothes the pain of us being shit.
