If he's signed to play at cb this will be an absolute disaster. I don't care how good he is. His height will be exploited all day long in the PL.
Yes he will struggle moving to a league with on average shorter strikers after having good aerial stats in a league with taller strikersIf he's signed to play at cb this will be an absolute disaster. I don't care how good he is. His height will be exploited all day long in the PL.
We leave Australia after the Villa match on the 23rd. We play Atletico Madrid in Oslo on the 30th so he's probably link up with us when we head back to Europe on the 24th.When are we back from the tour?
No we’ll swipe right next summerRIP Jurien Timber's Man Utd career.
Ok, name me 4 or 5 top class cb's in the history of the Premier league around 5ft7.Yes he will struggle moving to a league with on average shorter strikers after having good aerial stats in a league with taller strikers
Doesn't ten Hag favour 4-2-3-1 then 4-3-3. We've been playing 4-2-3-1 on pre season so I can't see us switching.Do you think we might play 3-4-3?

Paul Parker, Thiago silva, Ake, some CP dudeOk, name me 4 or 5 top class cb's in the history of the Premier league around 5ft7.
Martinez is 5'9 not 5'7 and height doesn't matter that much if your timing is spot on. But you are also ignoring my comment about him having good aerial stats in a league with taller strikers, things winning headers is a thing where it doesn't matter how good the league is, it's all physicality so it really doesn't matter that they aren't that much smaller defenders in the PL. It only matter that Martinez is a surprisingly good header of the ball for his height due to his jumping and timing.Ok, name me 4 or 5 top class cb's in the history of the Premier league around 5ft7.
Hehe, nobody's jumping data will be under as much microanalysis as this guys'.
And Champions League...Albeit in a different league…
I doubt that.No we’ll swipe right next summer
And top strikers cost north of £80 at least, plus none are available or dying to join United on our current lousy formRonaldo is making a fortune - so if he leaves that will free up so much money, it should be easy to persuade the owners to release more money to sign a new striker. Lets assume we get £15 million if we sell Ronaldo - in addition it's likely that the new strikers salary will be at least £200.000 less than Ronaldo - so offloading Ronaldo should easily free £25-30 million the first year alone
It's okay, I have £100 I can put up if it means we can get a top striker, no probs. And top strikers cost north of £80 at least, plus none are available or dying to join United on our current lousy form

It's not just heading that is in question. Players like VVD are not so dominant because they just win headers, it's in the manner they do it, and in what position that leaves the backline. A 190cm CB will much easier dominate a striker, dial with any duels or a simple ball shield. You are very naive if you think a 175cm CB is not a very very big risk especially at the price we are paying,Martinez is 5'9 not 5'7 and height doesn't matter that much if your timing is spot on. If Ajax would get Calvin that would be an awesome replacement though.
But what's his hops tho!?!?Sometimes I feel we are in NBA forum.
Honestly, If i see a funnier post this month I will be doing very well.

I think at times it will look like a 343, with Martinez holding, Maguire and Varane stepping up and wider, with Frenkie and the two wingbacks pushing right up, especially when Frenkie is dribbling outDo you think we might play 3-4-3?
Varane "slight knock" and not in the starting XI tonight....how quickly can you fly from Netherlands to Melbourne?
Centre of gravity, core strength and power trump that in most tussles, a short, powerful player is a nightmare to get around, outmanoeuvre or beat outright because of the recovery time and far superior balance. It's not just heading that is in question. Kante is an example. He is a tank. Lets say you put him in a 50:50 situation against Lukaku, an imposing figure. Kante wins 100% of the time.Centre of gravity, core strength and power trump that in most tussles, a short, powerful player is a nightmare to get around, outmanoeuvre or beat outright because of the recovery time and far superior balance.
Maybe even more than that if he does well, he's homegrown after all I've understood.I wanted Utd to buy him, great player, young, fast, strong will be fairly cheap as well. Watch the big teams chase him a season or two after he signs for £50m +
Hopefully this time it turns out well.Certainly. But they played well. Carlos Tevez played very well, even if he was more of an enabler and less of a star than he had been used to, the trio of Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez had many uses and strengths, and was part of our best team ever in my opinion. In hindsight I also think Fergie could have handled him better when there was trouble, and he could have been one of the club’s all time favorites if Fergie had given him the same treatment he gave Nani. Off course, going to City blee that out of the window anyway.
Heinze was not brilliant, even if he was adored by many because of his no-nonsense gung ho attitude, he was like an Argentinian Nobby Stiles on LB. He was undoubtedly good, though, even if he wasn’t the quickest, the best attacking FB or brilliant in the air. He did a good job, and for a little while, he was sorely missed when Evra had settling in problems.
I guess he did well on the pitch, but my clearest memory of him is that death wish against Sir AlexTevez no ?
