Yeah and for that he should win the World Cup best player or something. This isn't a tournament award, even though it's treated as so sometimes. Ronaldo barely deserved his in 2002 either....weirdly if they just swapped those two, I guess it wouldn't matter so much, shit evens itself I guess -_-

He didn't mention Zidane or L Ronaldo or a lot of other players, guess they're all shit. Guess those 2 will have to contend themselves with WC winners medals. :(

Zidane won WPOTY in 2000 & 2003, this is a combined award, they didn't get rid of the WPOTY and only count Ballon D'or.

Messi has 3 (1 undeserved), he probably won't win it this season unless Real capitulate in La Liga.

Nobody said they were all shit...

so now that it's combined does it count as two? So he really has what 4 in total then? making him the worlds greatest ever award winner?

He didnt deserve it :( dry your eyes cal, if you can.

Anyone watching the Copa game now?

Messi comes on in the second half, gets an assist and perhaps plays the ball of the match, only for it to be ruled offside. El Clásico it is then...

It was the first time I experienced full-blown Messi-mania.

All football fans have that effervescent optimism as the new season approaches – sometimes it’s a victory of faith and optimism over realism. However, the Barca faithful had suffered Madrid’s dominance so long that the emergence of this young genius – at a time when Rijkaard, Ronaldinho and Eto’o had brought the good times back – electrified Camp Nou. Nearly 100,000 Catalans roared in exultation of Prince Leo. They were desperate to see how he’d perform against Fabio Cannavaro, Patrick Vieira, Giorgio Chiellini, Mauro Camoranesi, Alessandro Del Piero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic...

Sabella on Messi :

I knew I’d be working with the best player in the world, a player who can change a game quicker than anyone. But to see him close up, and his acceleration, explosiveness and technique at pace, was a real eye-opener for me. The control he has of the ball at full pace is amazing. It reminds me of the Scalextric I used to play as a kid – those cars going flat out from a standing start. What’s surprised me about him more than anything, though, is what he means to people in India and Bangladesh, for example. It’s incredible. It’s the same in Venezuela, and Colombia was something else. He means so much to people. They idolise him and they’re crazy about him on and off the pitch. It’s unbelievable.

I dig his custom boots.

I imagine a simelar inner dialog as to the end of this scene when Ronaldo catches a glimps of those boots.

Somehow I can't imagine him spending much time looking at Adidas boots with Real 8pts clear at the top of La Liga.

yes, skip to 1min into it, obviously take the context of boots as apposed to business cards...

just a wee bit of a laugh.

I still can't keep from thinking that you're saying that Ronaldo will end up murdering Messi. Amusing scene, I know. My favorite from the movie.

 with an axe to the face?

Na it's just how i imagine his jealous inner dialog panning out at the sight of messis gold boots with their stitching of his 3 ballon d'ors on them. "that subtle gold colouring, the tasteful contours of them, oh my god... they even has his 3 ballon d'ors embroidered on them"... "Ronaldo, you're sweating"

They get miniature Champions Leagues? Love that.

Why the feck does he need to be brought into everything? Seriously.

Not arguing, but from Marco's taunts at Cal?, and FranklyVulgar's previous posts, it's obvious who he's talking about. Just found it a bit weird.

I was just having a bit of a laugh. It gets tiresome when people reply only to say one is better or one has done this and the other hasnt. If you can't poke fun at a player, any player in a fairly harmless way then people are taking the whole thing a bit too seriously.

Open up the he should not be named thread to talk about it. Messi has won a ridiculous amount at his age and the trophy's will keep on coming. Can't wait to see him play tonight.

Some of you guys take this whole rivalry thing so seriously.

Pffft. Voldemort is dead you feckers.. The chosen one ripped him a new one.
