Yes it will. Must be great for the anti-EPL brigade.

Shame the way the talent has moved though, no qualms about Ibra, but it feels like Real have stolen the talent from the EPL and Serie A. Serie A was weak enough as it was, it didn't need a talent exodus.

I feel sad for Seria A losing another one of their great talents but remember Eto'o is going the other way and his pace would frighten defences. They also have upcoming starlets such as Pato,Balotelli and Santon who are all tipped to be world class. If Ronaldinho works on his fitness he can become they player who we all loved watching and carry the flag for Seria A

True, but let's face it. Sooner or later, Balotelli is going to start having wet dreams, they'll probably end up in La Liga anyway, if not the Premier League.

I miss the days when Italian teams used to be powerhouses of European football.

Not too sure about Balotelli, Inter truly made him the player he is and I think he would forever have a sentimental attachment to them unlike Zlatan who went to Inter when he was an already established player. Balotelli is going to grow up with Inter and I really don't see him leaving unless something drastic happens.

Seria A may not be the be the greatest anymore but the majority of the league is still from home grown talent which bodes well for the future national teams

The talent in spain will be out of this world next season. Certainly the one to watch, it must kill the anti la liga brigade on here that so many world class players will be strutting their stuff in spain.

You can add Ibrahimovic to that list as soon as he signs.

My money remains on Messi, only injury can stop that lad.
My money is on Ronaldo. No one around matches his consistency or his weapons.

I have a sneaky feeling though that if Zlatan settles quick in Spain he could shock everyone and gate crash the party.

Indeed. She's been doing quite a good rebuilding job player wise.

In stark contrast to Milan. They lost out on Cissokho because of some BS dental excuse when they weren't willing to fork out the cash, now apparently the Luis Fabiano deal could be off as well. Is Gailliani trying to do a Kenyon or what?

Even when Messi was struggling with injuries in the season before the last, he was always better than Ronaldo ...whenever he was match fit, it was always been the case from 2005. From 2006-2008 an injury free Ronaldo was only statistically better than an injury prone Messi not cerntainly a better footballer.

Last season, Messi was predominantly fit, now he also has the stat to back up his consistency.

Trying to argue Messi was better than Ronaldo in 07/08 just makes you look an idiot, don't even bother.

No one in the past decades have had a better season than Ronaldo in 07/08, not Ronaldinho 04/05 (he was close), not Kaka 06/07, not Zidane, and certainly not Messi in 07/08.

Anyway, Sir Alex has made it abundantly clear what he thinks about 2 non United players.

I for one, trust Sir Alex's judgement, especially when it is the same as my own. :smirk:

C. Ronaldo or anyone else at Madrid.
 And you claim you don't underrate Ronaldo:lol:

A Zlatan might have an outside chance of gate crashing the party because on ythe ball he is up there with Messi at time. But Kaka? He is not close to Ronaldo in any thing. Infact he is going to contribute ot Roanldo just gteting bigger. For he will create for him and score many from what Ron will create for him.

We're talking about Kaka here Chief, not Kilbane. ;) Kaka's better at running at players, he has superior vision and passing, a better footballing brain and has got one hell of a shot on him. He's also significantly more direct in his play.

I think Ronaldo at his best is better than Kaka at his best, mind. However, I think the best Ronaldo we saw was actually when Kaka bizarrely won the World Player of The Year award in 2007.

Why even bother playground boasting? "My dad is the strongest man in the world ever" type crap.

I'm guessing you're including Maradonna taking Argentina to world cup glory/Napoli 86-89 as being inferior to Ronaldo 07/08, in your wet dream. My question is have you no shame?

I'm not agreeing that Ronaldo was better than Maradonna, but what are you on about? Shame? He probably meant the last decade, not all time.

He didn't say that though he said decades meaning 20+ years at least adn it sounded like he meant most of the history of football. And this would be in line with claims I seem to remember him making before in this thread - maybe it was someone else though.

As for the shame - It's become a sport to rip Cal? for his ludicrous statements, I try not to be too hard on him but I do wonder if he doesn't find it all a bit embarrassing even in cyber space. And it seems not because he continues to make such statements.

What Kaka and what Ronaldo bring to the team are very different. For me what Kaka will bring is exactly what Madrid need. As a player he picks it up runs at defenders and has the eye and execution for a pass in the final 3rd which few can match in world football so your point about kaka not being close to Ronaldo in anything :wenger:

It's nothing to do with rating Ronaldo or not, i think kaka is a player the team has been missing. Kaka is a playmaker with a direct and unflashy style. He will open teams with his dribbling and passing. Something Ronaldo doesnt do. Ronaldo can stretch a team with his pace if he is sent through with a good pass but for impact on the way the team will play, perform and have style i think Kaka is the most important player for Madrid next season.

Why does this Messi thread have more posts on Ronaldo?

They can't let him go, even in a season when Messi outshone Ronaldo, infact a season when Ronaldo wouldnt even be in the top 5 they still find ways to make it out like he was the best and is the best and will forever be the best.

But going through this thread you seem to bring up Ronaldo more than anybody else, why can not Messi be praised on his own merits , it is slightly concerning

Doubt it, if i refer to Ronaldo it is only in response to someone else bringing him into it. Which happens a lot.

It'll be interesting to see who's the 2nd and 3rd FIFA player of the year.

Knowing FIFA it will be Ronaldo and Kaka...

Frankly, you have a writing style which tends to inflame reactions, because on a United forum by some standards you are a bit of a WUM.

You may not mean it, but I think that's the impression that people get. I know you love Messi and Ibrahimovic, but you never seem to rate Ronaldo like you do with your own heroes, which irks people here because it's an unreasonable thing to do given his accomplishments and ability, which is without question. You might be trying to big up other players, while highlighting the flaws of Ronaldo to balance out the United bias, but to be biased is in the right of the members here because here, you are the outsider (whom no one seems to know anything about. Do you even support a team?).

Addis you are correct in what you say.

But in reality i do big up other players more than Ronaldo because i genuinely like them better as players. The Ronaldo fans even after him leaving cannot here a bad word about him as a player. It's bizarre to me because in the past 12 months he wasnt particularly brilliant, was he even Uniteds best player in this time?

(I do support a team, Kilmarnock FC, i was a season ticket holder for 6 years)

It does though, everyone else but you can see it. you can continue on thinking you aren't biased, but you evidently are. 'I like Ibrahimovic and Kaka more than Ronaldo' - bias.

Ronaldo's more direct than Kaka in general, he's also just as likely to open up teams with his dribbling.

I think Kaka's great though, better than people like to admit on here.

People don't rate Kaka on here? I don't disbelieve you, but if people don't rate Kaka then they're idiots.

Because i think Kaka is a player more in line with what Madrid need i'm biased.

And i dont see what exactly? I dont see Ronaldo providing the same creative edge as i do Kaka? correct.

Basically if you dont have Ronaldo as your number one you are biased. brilliant, i'm biased just like about 99% of people who watch the game.

Do you reckon you have an obsession with Ronaldo Franky?

No i answered a question regarding who i think will fair better in la liga.

I'm a bit obsessed with football, not Ronaldo. He's the most famous player in the game so he generates a lot of interest. Purely in footballing terms he isn't a favourite of mine. This makes me obsessed?

I've been accused of many things, being the mother of both Messi and Ibrahimovic for a start but i've never been accused of being obsessed with Ronaldo. You don't have to look far to find the Ronaldo obsessed. Their are plenty of them, wait and see the streets of manchester lined with C.Ronaldo 9 Madrid shirts for the obsessed.

Ronaldo and Messi are quite unique, Physique wise, i have never seen a player like Ronaldo (speed, 2 ultra quick feet, Injury Free, dribbling, Heading, Power, freekicks, even very marketable image).

Messi (amazing Dribbling, Passing, shooting, assists).
Players like this only come along rarely (like Zidane and Fat Ronaldo for example). Kaka is good but not at the level of the above mentioned .

Probably pato could one day be mentioned in the same breath (reminds me of Fat Ronaldo).
