That's a ridiculious thing to say, as if you have a special training in order to avoid injuries . You might he's physically better than Messi but it's not a quality to "not be injury" ,it's just a fact. Tomorrow Ronaldo could break his leg and what would you say then ?

That doesn't make him more talented but that makes him a better player to have.

Also ignoring the fact that none of Messis injuries have been the results of not taking kicks.

Not once has a guy crunched Messi and left him unable to continue. It has always been issues with his own body on its own not players kicking him out of games because beleive it or not Messi gets kicked an awful lot. Just watch the highlights of the game at the weekend, a guy pretty much took him out waist high. Messi didn't even react...

Frankly, you do sound like an obsessed fan when it comes to Messi :)

I know it comes across that way and i don't really care. I'm fully of the belief that Messi is the finest player of his generation with a genuine chance of becoming an all time great. I'm hardly alone in these thoughts, plenty of people with genuine credit in the world of football echo these sentiments.

People also confuse it with some sort of anti Ronaldo agenda which i refuse, i can't claim to be a huge fan of Ronaldo but i don't ignore his merits as a player.

Only time will tell if Messi reaches the heights some think he will but i'm just enjoying watching him play his own brand of football.

I don't disagree with you about Messi being a fantastic player, with a chance to become an all-time great.

How you can categorically say he is a better player than Ronaldo, I have no idea about though.

tbh , he didn't say anything like this. He even claimed Ronaldo should (deserves to) win the Ballon d'Or and also that Messi will become better than him if he isn't already

Trust me he does! I'm sure he wont deny it to...

People go on about the achievements of Ronaldo and how spectacular he's been for United which is all well and good. But i think many factors contributed to the recent success of United and Ronaldo was definitely one of them but i wouldn't put down his contribution as greater than some other members of the squad and more than eye catching performances from Ronaldo it was great team performances.

My point being that (although i'm not going to research it) i reckon on the cafe Ronaldo wouldn't have been far and away the player rated highest, or top of every MOTM poll at the end of each game even during last season when he scored in almost every game.

Ronaldo has been a product of his and Uniteds hard work, moulding a very talented but flawed player into one of the most effective in the game. He has changed so much from physique to game style.

Messi on the other hand has changed slightly but his style of play is unique and is such that he'll never be coached into a different player. He plays the same way he did as a kid and continues to play that way and for me it's a joy to see that in the modern game.

For clarification, I believe Ronaldo deserves to win the ballon d’or and I think he will. I am also of the belief that Messi is the better player.

Which can only be based on you preferring his style of play instead of actually how Messi and Ronaldo have performed in recent seasons.

In which way is Ronaldo flawed?

I think it's more like ,Ronaldo has performed better than Messi so far (therefore he deserves the accolades) but Messi is a better player and tbh I kinda agree with him.

Except for Quaresma, name one player in your life who you've seen play like Ronaldo? Seriously, he hasn't been modelled into a genuis, his a genuis that has managed to adapt his best qualities to make him an exceptional team player. Unlike you i'm off the belief that Messi has to offer a lot more in his game to be considered better than Ronaldo, which is obviously opposite to you and why we clash. At times his a one man show who will pick the wrong options that don't benefit the team, ask spanish critics or some Barca fans they say it all the time. His very sensational like Ronaldo was at first but he has to work on his game more.

Messi has performed to a very high level in recent seasons. There are plenty of highlights from this time sadly interupted by his club going through a wank period and untimely injuries.

United have been a better team than Barca in recent seasons and Messi was truely the only forward performing well in that side. Not Eto'o, not Henry and not Ronaldinho. The league and champions league was up to Messi, 19/20 year old.

In response to crappyperson i said "was" not is. He's still flawed though.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

If Ronaldo has played better than Messi, how can you claim that Messi is the better player?

How can he be a better player. It's like me saying Ronaldo is a better player than Kaka back in 06. I'd admit i thought he had more potential, but i could never call him a better player as his performances didn't match up to Kaka's!

And I asked in which way he is flawed?

Barca's Europe-league double was not down to Messi.

He's arrogant and petulant and doesn't play for the team enough.

I never said the europe-league double was down to Messi, i was talking about the two seasons after, the two seasons when the won nothing.

Ronaldo being an arrogant and petulant cnut doesn't make him a worse footballer.

When I think of Messi, I can easily come up with elements of his game that could get much, much better.

When I think of Ronaldo, I cannot honestly come up with anything that he could possibly improve.

Messi has time to develop and become a more complete player, Ronaldo's already one. One of the most complete players I've ever seen.

Yes, you have no agenda against Ronaldo. :wenger:

Messi is flawed as well in that way. He hogs the ball even more than Ronaldo, cheats and spits on other players.

Yeah and I agree with you but it's the same idea.

It's not.

If you'd said that Messi has a bigger potential than Ronaldo, I would understand you - not necessarily agree.

But having a bigger potential is not the same as being better.

Ronaldo is arguably the most complete attacker I've ever seen.

.

One of the most complete finishers I've seen which is why I think when he gets old and loses pace he should become a striker.

True. He has one of the most powerful shots around, is possibly the best header of the ball in the world, finishes most of his goal scoring opportunities easily with both feet (so good that you cannot really tell which foot he's more comfortable with) and is probably among the quickest players in the world as well when running with the ball.

It does when he's going to ground easily, waving his arms around and blaming his team mates.

Only if it has a negative effect on his team mates, which it has not had.

You're too far up Messi's arse in a very teenage-love way to actually be able to discuss the two.

;)

Ronaldo would still be a marvelous player if you forbid him to run. His finishing is top class and he usually finds himself in a right position at right time. He needs virtually no time to make a decision too, once the ball is at his foot he's prepared to release it the very same moment.

Ronaldos best form for me was after the world cup when he was the worlds enemy and he went onto prove a point.

Well he could always put the ball in the back of the net with his hand, or roll around like he got hit by a bus, like when Del Herno ran into Messi!
