Ligue 1 | French Football 2017/18

Poor Dijon, I feel for them. Even the referee showed mercy in not adding stoppage time. :D

Superb display, 4 goals for Neymar.

I dislike PSG as much as anyone but to be honest, we can't expect them to just deliberately not be as good as they can be, just because other teams in the French league can't compete with them. I guess if they develop young players instead of spending £100m on each player people will start to respect them more.

Kimpembe, Rabiot, and Nkunku are getting play time, with the first two appearing in a lot of game. That's about standard for most top clubs in the world. They let go of Coman who they developed as well as other players, it's not a club devoid of talented youngsters, but with their ambitions it's hard to get in just like at a club like Madrid, Barca, etc.

As Sayros said we're probably the top club who plays academy players the most with Areola and the 4th CB 18yo Stanley N'Soki also from our youth ranks.

We also develop a fair amount of other young players like Verratti, Marquinhos, Lo Celso etc.

If you don't respect PSG you can pick many reasons but not developing youth isn't a valid one.

Coman wasn't released either, juventus poached him, like pogba

PSG have been investing heavily in their academy and unlik city or chelsea they already haf some good players in it before the Qatari take-over, so they've been playing more of them

Not investing in the academy/youth is something they can't be accused of

Weirdly, I felt that PSG were going to score 8 last night well before kick off, but I still expected too much of Dijon! Had it down as 8-1.

Fekir's on a role. 5 goals in his last 5 games, and 4 MOTMs to go with it.

Lyon-PSG in about an hour should be a good watch for anyone interested.

I'm surprised with Lyon's line-up. Rafael starting with Tete on the bench, and no Traoré or Memphis. Fekir goes without saying but I'm interested in seeing how Aouar and Ndombele do as well.

Pastore's only on the bench for PSG. :(

I'm in.
Bored and nothing to watch.
I'm always hoping for a good game but now that I've sucked you in I really am hoping for a good game! Fekir needs to show up tonight.

Inter-Roma man
I wanted to watch that too but Lyon-PSG is just too tasty of a game. Hope Cancelo, Brozovic and Joao Mario get some game time for Inter.

Edit: I've just seen that they're on the bench. Bah! Not a fan of this Vecino/Gagliardini/Valero midfield three.

So fat boy scores!
Lyon beating Psg wont bode well for Emrey. Still alot of game left.

Ronaldo and Mbappe with a head injury on the same day, can't be a fortune.

Shame for M'bappé. He was brave not backing out of that challenge after having already suffered from a collision. Hope he recovers well.

Fekir with a vital interception on the edge of their box. Love how he always helps out defensively.

Great strike from Kurzawa but Rafael poor defensively, no surprises there.

Not sure there is much Rafael can do there. Has to respect the run from Cavani to the back post and then can't get back in time to clear the cross. Has to be asking why none of his teammates on the edge picked up Kuruzawa. Perhaps should have been looking for the block instead of fully committing to the header?

Yeah, he was in a sticky situation to be fair. Though having fully committed himself to the header he really should've won it.

Ridiculous leaving Dani Alves so open, gutted for Lyon.

For those people talking about Fekir though, bear in mind you have to take the good with the bad with him. He can be a REALLY frustrating player to watch.

He needed to win it, but effort can not make him 2 inches taller.

Mbappe probably going to be concussed from that contact.
