Initial contacts have occurred between PSG attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa’s camp and the Premier League side Leicester City over a possible January move.
A large portion of Ben Arfa’s entourage still would prefer for the former Nice and Newcastle man to stay put at PSG to see his contract out for the final 6 months, in order to earn as much out of that lucrative deal as possible.
Claude Puel has made it very clear that he would like to reunite with Ben Arfa, with two having worked wonderfully together at OGC Nice.
Unai Emery’s Paris flat burgled
PSG manager Unai Emery’s Paris apartment was robbed on Wednesday night during the club’s Coupe de la Ligue action, according to Le Point and BFM TV.
Emery’s flat, located on the 7th floor in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, was first discovered to having been broken into by his wife. The robbers stole a rolex worth €7k, a bracelet and two Chanel bags that belonged to the Spanish tactician’s wife.
Contrary to earlier reports, no documents pertaining to PSG nor transfers or scouting were taken by the criminals. The police are currently investigating, and hope to uncover the identity of the thieves by trawling through CCTV footage.
PSG have an agreement to sign Wendel from Fluminense – agent
20-year-old midfielder Wendel’s agent Carlos Henrique Brasil has told L’Équipe that his client has reached an agreement to join PSG.
Now Les Parisiens much conclude a deal with Fluminense, who are seeking €10m, as well as sorting out their FFP situation. PSG’s plan is to loan the player straight out to another European club, with FC Porto reportedly interested.
Wendel’s agent had the following to say on the matter:
“Whatever PSG’s choice is, it is a dream that is about to come true. Wendel is ready. He has the same style as Verratti. He has a lot of personality and plays with his heart. Antero Henrique has already seen him play a lot, he knows what will be best for him.”
Arsenal & Liverpool to return for Thomas Lemar
L’Équipe report today that Premier League duo Liverpool and Arsenal have both decided to attempt to sign AS Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar next month, after both missing out on the player in the dying embers of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool’s €90m offer, 48 hours before the end of the previous window, was rejected by Monaco, who were holding out for €100m. When Arsenal offered that sum less than 12 hours before the closure of the transfer window, ASM were willing to accept, but the bid had been made too late in the day, with Lemar on international duty at the time.
A new suitor for Lemar has appeared in recent weeks in the form of Chelsea, who contacted the player’s entourage in recent weeks about a possible move.
Lemar is currently under contract with the Ligue 1 champions until 2020, and has rejected a series of contract extension offers from Monaco over the last 12 months.
Rennes have made a €7m bid for Richmond Boakye
Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Ligue 1 side Rennes have submitted a €7m offer for Ghanaian forward Richmond Boakye.
The 24-year-old currently plies his trade with Red Star Belgrade and has this season scored 14 league goals in 13 games.
Anderlecht are also interested in the player.
Olivier Giroud: “A loan could be an option, but I do not think that Arsenal will want that.”
Speaking to L’Équipe, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud discussed his future with the January transfer window looming.
“The reason for me not leaving this summer was partly down to the opportunities that I had. But at some point, I will have to ask the question again. We are not yet in January, and I do not have all the keys in my hand. What the French national team boss advises also comes into account. But it will not be able to find the right solution. Again, we will look at our options. A loan could be an option, but I do not think that Arsenal will want that.”
