Ligue 1 | French Football 2017/18

Marseille is already leading against Saint-Etienne. They are in really good form.
Wish France would have 4 CL-Spots: PSG, Marseille, Lyon and Monaco would be nice.

Surprised that Marseille dropped points against Saint-Etienne. Thauvin was on fire once again though. He is having a great season.

He's been great for Monaco recently, just needs to avoid injury as that's what has hampered him in the past few seasons.

Rony Lopes is doing well for Monaco. Do you think he can get into Portugal national team? @Sly

Yeah he's been doing great but i don't think he will have a chance for the WC. Maybe after that. We have alot of options up front and he just got called up once for the games against the US and Saudi Arabia. Just look at our options, Quaresma, Nani, Gelson Martins, Gonçalo Guedes, Bernardo Silva, Bruma, João Mário, Bruno Fernandes and i'm surely forgetting someone because we have so many options. If only we had the same luck with center backs and strikers

Ronny deserves much more to be called to the WC, not even a discussion about that, 1 is scoring goals for fun, the other doesn't even play, sorry Nani but your time is up.

Meanwhile Monaco with a important win away at Strasbourg 3:1, probably they will get the second place, hopefully Leo stays there to give some continuity to his work.

Was about to tag you and @Sly :D. Guy looks so good these days and surely deserves a call.

But it will not be easy for him, midfielders and wingers is what we have more, if it was strikers or centerbacks the conversation would be different.

Just caught a glimpse of some highlights this weekend, what the feck happened at Lille? Scary scenes

Jovetic with his trademark chip

Jardim is doing a great job after losing many players.
Jardim fecked up big on the group stages in the Champions League. And I say this as someone who respects him.

I didnt watch their games in the group stage this year, the results are indeed horrible. He will learn from it.

I don't think he has the right mindset for short termism and huge pressure from the media, the reason why I think he feels more comfortable at Monaco instead managing a club like United imo.

He will give it a shot in a few years i assume, unless he categorically doesnt want to. But i guess most people would like to try out how they do on the top level, not necessarily speaking of United, but maybe Chelsea or another good club in a bigger league like the Serie A.

The Jardim I know from Sporting or Braga, and I guess he didn't changed much as a person at Monaco, is the anti Mourinho.

He is a shy person who doesn't like to talk much and to be under media circus everyday, and with the amount of money there is in clubs like United or Chelsea he would have to work for the short term.

The only clubs in England I can see who adapt better to his personality are Arsenal, maybe Spurs or Liverpool. Chelsea? With Abramovich ? Would be funny to watch.

He always gets brought up with Allegri as Conte's successor and at Arsenal by the media. Good to know how he is.

But he would have to do more here than just coach and we are indeed a circus these days.

In England the best club for him would be Arsenal if he had to do a rebuild mode associated with the new scout they have there, Sven Mislintat. Would be a upgrade on current Wenger.

Juventus, don't think so, Italy has so good football coaches, they have such a high number where they can pick, not necessary for them.

I can see him staying happy doing his job at Monaco, he is after all in his 5th season, and he is used to rebuild squads while developing new players.

Maybe, but Monaco is a pretty dull club. Does he love the city and low taxes? Then great for him, he gets to see awesome cities whenever he wants to anyway. But the stadium is tiny and the seats are empty, there is no passion for Monaco as a football club. I guess most top managers want to play in front of partizan crowds of 75+ thousand people.

Can't speak for himself, but I genuinely think he likes the type of job he does there, not saying he wants to stay forever, just his personality doesn't adapt vey well to clubs like United or Chelsea, more a Arsenal or Spurs type of manager, maybe I am wrong on that.

Nice v PSG have a really nice game going on. 1:1 after 30' (Saint-Maxim, Di Maria).

Would like to see Jardim somewhere like Dortmund.

Monaco just lost too much quality to make an impact on CL this season although they've been playing better since xmas.

The gap is uncloseable at this point. What Monaco can do is prevent PSG from celebrating the title against them next week.
They, uh.....failed....

Congrats man

Can't really blame Jardim, when he looses several key players season after season. Have to give him props for assembling a competitive squad year after year.

Saw the highlights of PSG-Monaco game last night. PSG played really some scintillating stuff to seal the title win, Cavani was quite brilliant
