Let's all laugh at England

Amusing how England fan's banter and songs/posts/whatever that winds up other fans is apparently cool and edgy, but taking the piss out of England and it's fans, is just this horrible spiteful thing people should be ashamed of. Take it on the chin and move on FFS.

As you can see they literally can’t. they are the worst losers I’ve ever seen. Its glorious. I hope this thread keeps going for a long time yet

I’m fecking happy that England lost against the Italians
It was at Wembley, the majority of england fans, early goal, everything was in place for England to win but they bottled it.
Do i hate Enlgland? Not at all, I’ve been there twice and i loved it.
Do I hate English fans. Nope. I have only words of praise for the way I was treated, there and here in the Caf.

Si why i am happy that england lost? Very simple, i’m an argie, and we have a football rivalry with you. So anything bad that happens to the english NT makes me happy.

it’s fecking football, is not a war, is just that there’s a fierce rivalry between Argentina and England.

one of my fondest memories in football is Maradona scoring against you during the 1986 world cup

one if my worst memories in football is Owen diving in 2002 world cup and Beckham scoring thr penalty. I was so sure that we were going to win that world cup. We had a great team. It was coming home.

I’m proud that thr best goal of any world cup is Diego’s goal against you. But i hate the fact that the second best is Owens goal against us.

And thats what rivalry is about.

you celebrate your victories and your rivals defeats, no matter who did it.

or werent we all happy when Gerrard slipped and Liverpool saw their chance of finally winning the PL dissapear?

I hope you never win anything again. But you will probably do sometime.

and i wont be happy then.

Absolutely not - they’ll absolutely no doubt have their fair share of fans that hate the country from which the club they support resides too

more resigned to the fact that you lot are why people don’t take us seriously as a fan base.

well I wouldn’t call it hate, but I do have my own national team to support. ;)

They are like Liverpool fans. They MUST be loved.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/uefa-euro/2021/07/13/60ecbb95e2704ea50f8b4611.html

England fans continue to struggle with coming to terms with the fact that football isn't coming home this summer, following their failure in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.

While some supporters have taken to abusing the players who missed penalties in the shootout, others have tried to take matters into their own hands.
One such fan has created a petition on change.org in an attempt to force a replay of the final.

"The match on 11/07/2021 was not fair at all," the creator wrote. "After Italy only receiving a yellow card for dragging England players like they were slaves."

"All the pushes, pulls and kicks and Italy was still allowed to win? Definitely biased. Italy should have been given a red card for their gameplay and the rematch should happen with a non biased referee. This was not fair at all."

The survey aims to get 75,000 signatures and picked up the majority of those very quickly.

Worth reading the article and not just the headline. There was a car crash, some accidents with fireworks and (bizarrely) an assassin using the celebrations as an opportunity to shoot his target. None of which means the Italian celebrations were anything other than good-natured and well behaved.

I tried to make that point a couple of posts earlier. But if you bring that up you're just trying to create a safe space, because you can't take his "banter".

You see this is a great, honest post. Doesn't like the England team because he's from Argentina and nothing wrong with that. I wish other people would be more honest with themselves instead of being 'appalled' by a song and some booing.

Yes, this is the real historic achievement of England fans this tournament.
Can I ask what was the straw that broke the camels back? England fans have behaved much worse than this in the past. Please don't tell me it was the song!

I don't think there was a singular straw. It's more that this tournament strongly reinforced the worst impressions of Brexit. The football didn't help either.

Well, if it helps brexit, was/is 50/50 so we're not all bad ;)

Its time to stop laughing at England now.

I really feel sorry the players and especially the ones that missed the spot kicks. I also feel sorry for the players that didnt get a chance to play and influence the game/tournament. I feel sorry for my English friends. Nothing but upstanding people of the highest calibre that are so far removed from the imbeciles that boo national anthems and flood twitter with hypocritical racist bile, and the other bunch of neanderthals that dont see any wrong in destroying your capital city or kicking someones head in. feck them. They are just scum.

We have to start trying to filter out the good from the bad here. The cohort of arseholes mentioned above get all of the press attention and its very easy to jump on the bus with them and just keep the narrative going.

As @Marcosdeto says , the real England is a great country full of mainly good decent people. I have been to see United loads of times and never once did I see any violence. Always had a great time when I am in England and I have been there 100s of times over the years. Ironically its Scotland where someone wanted to fight becasue of my accent.

Yes I am glad England lost on a broad level - but mainly for the scumbags. I never want them to be happy.

To the rest of you decent sorts - unlucky chaps, its a bitter pill to swallow when you lose a final, but at least you were there to have a say.
Well done.

I’ll be honest. I find these sort of threads amusing, the majority of England fans would never give us a chance of getting to the final beforehand, let alone winning it. So the idea I would get upset that people try to meme/mock England fans is fun, and I would not be offended because I am proud that we managed to get to a final for the first time in a long time. This was a largely successful tournament for the England team, and we as England fans should be proud & unaffected by any of the ribs.

The players achievements on and off the pitch in the face of the adversity from the very thugs that give the rest a bad name is to be celebrated. I’ve never seen an England team in a final, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to see it.

Well said and agreed. Football rivalry and the usual morons aside it's all just millionaires kicking a ball around for our entertainment.

Remember how small time City are celebrating Uniteds’ downfall more than their successes? Then again, can’t blame the other home nations as just qualifying for a tournament gets an open top bus celebration.
Still stings huh?

If you want to pick analogies with club football, don't you think Spurs might be a more apt fit for England?

Which EPL team do England most resemble?

Man Utd, Chelsea, City, Liverpool would be France, Spain, Germany, Italy.

Are England better than Holland?

I think Holland would be Spurs. Portugal might be Arsenal. Denmark maybe Everton.

I think England are Westham.

Somehow being mentioned as a top team despite having won feck all since that asteroid killed the dinosaurs.

The persona of Spurs, but with the quality of football of Burnley.

One poster in this thread, who I believe is from Germany, is justifying his dislike for the England team because apparently Uefa were conspiring with the FA to make things as plain sailing for England as possible. It's always entertaining to see how active some people's imaginations are.

Listen, dislike England as much as you like because of their obnoxious fans and arrogant pundits (I personally can't stand the sight of many of them, too) or like you said simply being from countries like Ireland, Argentina or Germany alone is a valid enough reason for not liking England. But when you make things up just to spite England fans in an online forum of an English football club, I kind of understand why many England fans on here are reacting the way they've been doing, though some do go a bit too much with their saltiness.

Don’t understand why you haven’t been banned, you’re clearly a WUM. I think the most offensive part of it though is that you’re not even a good troll.

Here’s another few of the gems from your ensemble of shiteposting:
  • Talking about Harry Kane as a potential transfer target

  • Comparing Mbappe and Henry

  • Discussing Klopp‘s future

  • Expressing dissatisfaction that Villareal have outspent United in recent years

  • Rejecting a fullback because you haven’t heard of them and you want a centre back instead

And my personal favourite because it seems a reasonable post...

...until people realise you’re talking about Zidane as a replacement for Ed Woodward.
 bravo. Think you even missed the Arthur Melo post.

i really don’t get the need to snap back at people taking the piss days after the event. it’s football. it happens. only one team can win it. it’s hardly ever england but it’s hardly ever anyone else either. we did better than every country who entered, other than italy. the argentinians and brazilians having a pop didn’t even qualify for the euros, again, yet sit on their high horses having a go.

either way it’s really not hard to take it on the chin. if it winds you up, just take a step back for a few days until you’re ready to take it. it will blow over. it always does. we have a young squad, the world cup is 18 months away. maybe we go one better there. if not, so be it, it’s only football. we’ll win it some day.

grass roots is learning its lesson and we pump money into the game like few others. i remember as a kid getting a size 5 football and playing on an adult sized pitch at the age of 9 or 10. booting the ball was the only option else you’re dead after 15 minutes. this is happening far less nowadays. our top clubs are investing in their youth set ups and the england team is starting to see the benefits. give it another generation and i don’t see which other country is improving at the rate we are, with the scope we have to. our prospects are better than the majority of others and we have the largest scope to get better. our youngsters are willing to play abroad, we attract the best foreign coaches. it’s a matter of time. it was liverpool’s time to come in from the wilderness, it will be england’s too. any adversity and goading along the way will only make it all the more sweeter.
