Let’s sign Gareth Bale

There is surely no way that Bale is on under £200k a week?

In spain they have to pay 50% tax on their salary. So when people go on about Bale is on 600k a week, it is most probably 300k he gets a week! I'm sure I've read it somewhere, real can claim back up to 20% of the 50% tax paid by Bale! Don't really know how that works

We don't know the exact number, but one thing is for sure, that Bale earns less than Ramos (his merchandising, image rights etc. is another matter), as per Perez' confirmation. And there's no way for Ramos earning more than 300K in wages.

Ramos is quoted earning €10m a year after tax

And Bale doesn't earn more than him, just like he didn't cost more than Cristiano in transfer fee...

We have the second highest wage bill in the world. Only barcelona pay higher wages on average than us, and our structure is divided into levels. We're not running a wengerian socialist-policy here

That was just playing around the exchange rates and inflation, even then they were pretty close.

Bale would be on par with Ramos at best, as Perez' quote was Ramos is the highest earner, not that Bale earns half of him or something like that.

Just read he’s not a target and I instantly felt good about us. We don’t need a player that has turned us down so many times which makes me feel maybe we have turned a corner? Maybe we are actually going to try and sign young English talents? If so, I’m all for it. No more ridiculous signings. Let’s start buying smart.

We don't need Bale, over priced and injury prone.

He doesn't even want to leave Madrid.

This is not what United need. I'd be open to a loan deal but not a fat contract and transfer.

Don't touch him even if he comes on a free. Actually, I hope no one comes for him & Madrid are stuck with him for another 3 years

Pogba going to force a Madrid move, Zidane will offer up Bale. Madrid might even eat some of his wages. We'll get an offer of something like 80m + Bale (with part wages paid for), woodward will cream his jeans, and the descent into meme-hell will begin. Woodward won't be able to contain himself :nervous::nervous:

We don't want Bale though.

No, not for me, go against everything Oles planning on doing. There is no quick fix Bale would be a sticking plaster that falls off after washing?
Not needed.

Zidane "Gareth Bale wasn't in the matchday squad today because the club is negotiating his departure...I hope it's soon, that would be the best for everyone".

Zidane "It's nothing personal against Gareth. It's just I have to take decisions. These things happen."

Zidane confirming that it was he who asked the club to offload Bale, not the player asking to leave or pressure from higher up.

Will be gone in 24-48 hours

considering his wages, and our need for a RW, i'm petrified that MUFC is a possible destination still.

Don't believe anything they said. Zidane does not want him, Perez want to get rid, they are playing the game hoping someone bites. Unless it is China calling, I don't see any club being that stupid..

Wonder if he has a case for constructive dismissal with the way his manager is talking about him.

I wouldn't have a problem with us trying to loan him for a season. Especially if we sold Lukaku.

He’ll be there next week Saturday.

His refusal to leave is so depressing, I don’t see why a buying club would pay him anything over £200k.

Let's not bother signing Bale. He's too old - just turned 30 - and too injury-prone. Not worth the money he'd want.

A season or two on loan would have made sense to bring some experience to the top of the pitch, if Mata had left.

Don’t think it makes much sense bringing him in now. Certainly not if we have to cover his massive wages.

He has been nothing but bullied by Real. Fans, players, and manager are a disgrace. To think we wanted Zidane here when he treats players exactly like Jose, and Jose was castigated for it.

At least Bale is showing backbone, he's not going to be bullied in to a decision to suit others.

Why do people think he's coming to Utd? The club have already said they're not interested.

i think MUFC is an option, not that he's likely to come.

If Zidane is confident of getting rid of him, to the point that he'll openly bag out bale in a presser, how many teams can pay his wage in full?

Let's not sign Bale. Let's move forward rather than dwell on someone we should have signed 5 years ago

Not sure he fits the profile we need. Seems like Ole is trying go get us to be an aggressive pressing team and I don't see Bale doing that, his legs are going and he is quite injury prone.

I'd like to think we're past signing declining big names.

I'd take Zidane's words with a pinch of salt. Bale and his agent have reiterated several times that he doesn't want to leave and his agent has also ruled out a loan move. There are only a handful of clubs who can afford Bale, I'd be surprised if a transfer was this close without the press getting wind of it.

The club have already briefed that we're not signing players of his profile anymore. I really don't think we're an option tbh.

Whilst I agree that we probably shouldn’t sign him if he does go to Spurs that is seriously bad news for us. When he is not injured he is still a great player and him, Kane and Son together could be lethal.

Spurs are already better than us this would take them up another level making top 4 harder for us

seems like the press have missed this one, because "negotiating his departure" sounds pretty clear that there is a second club involved.
