Let’s sign Gareth Bale

Im very much in the:

Loan - Good move, high profile player, could attract other players, be good for the younger players to learn from. Not really seen much of him this season but Im sure he could still be a really good player for us this year even if it were for 20-30games max

Buy - Hell no
Why would a loan player attract other players?

- I think on loan he'd be outstanding.
- Might take him 10 games to get up to speed.
- He's suited to the Premier league where his explosive pace can be exploited best.
- The likes of Robben and Ibrahimovich mostly flopped in La Liga only to explode again as soon as they left. Thierry Henry was by a mile the best player in the PL and looked average when he went to La Liga.
- I don't think the Glazers would consider a loan deal unless they offloaded Alexis first.

'Explosive pace' and 8 calf muscle injuries are mutually exclusive.
So are 'Explosive pace' and 30 years old this year especially with the 22 injury count since he joined Real Madrid.

From what we can see on his recent play he is not going to suddenly get back his pace. It's not a case of he just needs another club and 10 games in. Gareth is on the decline. Players who rely on pace usually decline earlier. Obviously he is still a very skilled player but hardly worth making another high profile mistake for.

I can understand his personal problems at Real Madrid - it seems the local and footballing culture demand you give up what would be your right to personal space although a brighter footballer would have gone along with it at least to some extent and would also give necessary greetings etc in Spanish. Gareth would most likely have no personal problems at United.

The basic problem is he is not worth what he would or his agent or Real Madrid would demand. Other problems are Real wanting to get rid of their unwanted players like this - they are so eager and it would be lunacy if United played their useful idiot. Also the Pogba issue is in the equation.

For all the short-term thinkers - if you want to get rid of Pogba then you get rid of the only player that other top players especially young ones would like to play alongside. You can't rebuild United with no world class players and we already have one. Dealing Pogba for a declining Bale again would be lunacy.

According to Ducker, ManUtd are looking to sign experienced Right sided forward. Wonder if it's Bale he was talking about.

I think this ship has sailed. I don't want us to sign him now, i believe his injuries has caught him with him and he no longer has that searing pace. However, we might be looking at him for a season long loan, with Sancho to be bought next year.

I wonder why are we not looking towards Felipe Anderson or Gerard Deulofeu. They will be great for us on one side. While next year we can go for Sancho on the other side.

Bale might be a good option if he was part of about half a dozen new signings but if the cash required to make this happen makes other signings restrictive then we should steer clear.

The most impressive right winger at Old Trafford in the last year is David Beckham.

Maybe we think we can squeeze one more season from him

Get rid of Alexis. Get bale on loan.

Easier said than done. Where are Inter and their interest in Sanchez when you need one

So if Messi and ROnaldo came here on loan you dont think other players would like to play with them?
Different story when it's some of the best players of all time. Even then, I find it hard to believe that many players would base long-term career decisions around being able to play with a certain player for a single season.

Bale was terrible in the last 2 games for Wales.

Having not watched much of Real last year, by all accounts, he wasn't great for them either.

We really do have a way of getting players that their teams don't want.

I think he's completely devoid of both confidence and passion right now.

The statements that came out about him being happy to play golf and collect his paycheck suggest to me that he's just not arsed about football any longer and that'll factor into his play so as much as he's traditionally good for Wales regardless of how his club career has been going, he was out of sorts playing for them as well.

Would we be wise taking a man who doesn't want to play football at the minute? No.

Would we be wise taking a man who doesn't want to play football at the minute if we had a chance of reigniting his passion for it? No.

Do I still kind of want this to happen just in case he does suddenly want to again? Leaning towards yes.

Is he really on 600K a week? I thought we were stupid enough with Sanchez, but Real went one better. Not worth that even if he won them the CL, he isn't Ronaldo or Messi and you could make an argument that even they don't need to be paid that much.

Let's hope the club know how they're going to replace Lukaku's goals when he's sold then because if come deadline day he's gone then Bale on loan wouldn't be such a bad idea then

He would be another Schweinsteiger. Talented or not, he would come and put in a half-arsed effort. I'd clone Lingard (my worst nightmare btw) before I would like to see us sign this half-retired mercenary.

Only on loan! I think he's finished, he was off it last night for Wales v Hungry, that could just be out of form as he's had a dreadful season at Real?
Utd should get other targets first, leave the option of a loan deal till last if needed, Real want him out, he doesn't need to leave.

If China or Middle East don't come to their rescue, Madrid are stuck with Bale!
absolutely wonderful news

Woodward should just lowball Madrid.

No other team will take Bale, and RM basically have to get rid. It's that or he'll be making £20m a year in the reserves next year. What other club could take him?

Something like free transfer with Madrid still paying 50% of his wages. They can say no but I doubt they'll get many better offers that Bale would accept to go....

This would be like signing Sanchez but probably not as bad. on loan may be an option but would rather give the wages to some new hungrier players

He’s not scored a goal in 10 games, sounds ideal for the number 7 shirt :D

Do not want, doesn’t appear to make for a good team player and we have enough players who only care about their brand and aftershave sales.

I have a feeling the reason Zidane keeps him on the bench is because his wages may be related to his appearances.

Real Madrid strategy for getting rid of players on big wages they don’t want...

Step 1 - offer around for a big fee (Di Maria, Ozil)

Step 2 - offer loan deals to save on the wages and hope they do well enough to justify a fee (James)

Step 3 - cut price sale or keep...

If Zidane really doesn’t want him, there could be cut price sale back to Spurs near deadline day.

So we have our own bale situation with Sanchez and it would be a good idea to take on another... a player in his situation, he has no hunger left

If Madrid are up for a loan with incredibly favourable terms then sure, you take a risk on one of the most exciting players of the last ten years. If not, not worth it.

No, please no. Why do we want to make it easier for them to get their hands on Pogba. We’d be doing them a massive favour to help them out of a potential FFP situation. We don’t want any players that don’t really want to be here. It’s obvious he’d only join us under protest. Good as he still may be, can you see him being really turned on at a Thursday night in some far flung hell hole. Ed May think he’d sell a few more jerseys - how many people are now buying Sanchez shirts.

I don't understand why sign Bale when Zaha is available on the market. If Zaha cost around 60M it is a very good price.

I like how Ole showed middle finger to Madrid :D they need to sell and easily can have problems with FFP.

Is he really on 600K a week?
That's made up, Perez had a recent interview where he was asked about the wages of our players, he said Ramos is the top earner, and from what we know he earns around 200K pounds.

If the story is true, and that's a big if, I doubt Real would care if they get a two window transfer ban. They've bought enough players to last them years.

Bale looked totally shot in the two games for Wales. Avoid. Not really sure where he'll end up.

This is serious credibility test for Manchester United under Ole. If he really is the man for the job he will privately be raising merry hell even about the possibility and telling Woodward and Co - No, Not On My Watch.

Ole took a good step in playing Marcus instead of Lukaka, showing faith in homegrown talent - despite all the nonsense scribbled here about Marcus R he is only 21, has experienced a Europa League Final and been a winner, and is a member of the England squad. Ole signaled what direction he wants United to go.

Does anybody really think Gareth Bale who never wanted to come here and might only see Manchester United as an escape route with his many injuries and clear loss of pace, age of 30 this year, would happily accept sitting on the bench if his playing form is as woeful as it is judging by his recent Wales performances? He said he wants to play.

United would have the worst of both worlds - playing he wouldn't be good judging on mental and physical attitudes and age, left on the bench he would most likely be unhappy too. Ole - you've got to take a stand and kill this idea.

I think we have a policy now and I think that we will stick to it, people are just agitated at how difficult it seems it may be. We cannot sign Bale, he's the epitomy of what we do not want anymore, a player with no desire to play for the club , that has no real love for the club or desire to achieve more things in his career. We are trying to rebuild the utd brand of players with desire, passion and energy. This would be a step back

There is surely no way that Bale is on under £200k a week?
