Let’s sign Gareth Bale

No fecking way! This better be a shit rumour. Do not want him nor his ridiculous wages, plus the guy has major attitude!

Do you think Madrid would take a dud off our hands?! It's embarrassing if we do this, the guy is done. Let him stay there and play golf.

We are the problem. Not Bale.

An otherwise stable team that had been successful in their recent transfer business could bring Bale in on loan and reap the rewards. The negative reaction on here is more to do with the Falcao, Schweintsteiger and Sanchez hauntings, as opposed to any personal issue with Bale. The perception that we haven’t got a transfer blueprint.

Whoever manages to get Bale for a year or two are still getting a seriously good player. There’s no doubt about that for me.

If we were to strengthen in all other positions with the right sort of players, I would have no issue with Bale coming in to play on the right wing. Particularly given that Sancho is unattainable at this time.

Top player who is barely fit. He's not cheap. His wages are huge and the fee I assume won't be nominal. Doesn't matter if we can afford it, doesn't mean we should accept being taken for clowns
Exactly!
Everyone will rightly laugh at us. I think people are remembering what he was - not what he is now, which is useless!

if you're a defender lining up on the first day of the season. Do you rather play against somebody like Sanchez, Mata, Lingard, Martial or Daniel James. Or do you rather play against Bale?

It's an obvious answer. Loan signing is a no brainer.

Top player who is barely fit. He's not cheap.

I’s already put an argument forward for this @LARulz

A) “he’s barely fit” - played 42 games last year

B) “he’s not cheap” - no transfer fee means he’d probably cost around £15 million quid extra in wages for the year over a “regular” player. 15 million today is cheap as feck.

The only arguments for not getting him on loan are his attitude, does he want to come? And if there are better options out there. If we’re planning on Sancho next season, is there a better stop gap?

We still do not have an established right winger. There are rumours Lingard is extending ffs.

Bale on loan on top of the other reinforecements is fine by me.

We will regret this. The guy is done. He can't deal with this physical league with his crocked arse. He's also got a bad attitude and doesn't give a feck about us except if we're paying his ridiculous wages.
He'll get injured as much as possible, and spend his days on the nearest golf course.

We need a right back more than anything.

Exactly this.

Our options on the right are mid table standard at the moment.

A loan deal would be ideal.

If the idea is being through loads of academy kids and sign loads of promising English youngsters then we most definitely also need the experience of top pros that have been there and won trophies!

I know the in thing is to slate Bale but he'd be a massive improvement on what we have an a loan deal would mean we aren't lumbered if things don't work out! Problem is, I doubt he'd want to come to us in our current predicament

Exactly! All this talk of bringing in youngsters and English talent, Brookes, James, Rice and so on, we’re just building a mid table team with these players.
It’s all well and good to bring them in but they should be brought in to play along side already world class talents, of which we havnt got any sadly. I fear for the next season

Spot on, there's no point in us bringing him in as it won't work but guaranteed if he was loaned to Liverpool he'd perform and then Woodward would be getting slated on here for not going in for him.

 Where do you get this nonsense from

With it looking like Sancho being a no go Bale on a loan might not be too bad. When he has been fit for Madrid there are still games when he has been the one that has pulled their asses through it. Just gets a bit more of a bad rep because he isn’t Ronaldo so if he ain’t scoring 40 a season he’s not good enough.

The injuries and wages are a worry but on a loan it might be worth the risk because as I said on his day he’d comfortably be the best player in our team.

That's fine that's one of the other positions we should be buying a player.

Bale on loan will give us one less spot to have to buy for for the season.

Can't replace the whole lot in one go.

Completely agree with this.

I think he can even play CF next to rashford in our diamond formation. But we need to fill so many positions. He can still do a good job in a functional team. Till we create that by singing the right CM, CB, RB, CAM etc. signing him will be a waste.

The thing is, if Bale comes in and plays consistently for 3 or 4 seasons, then we will have a seriously good player tearing up teams on the counter, making assists and scoring goals. A constant threat for any opposition. Although, from the Sanchez/Falcao experience, we could end up with a player earning 15m a season, mostly injured and when they play can't really get into any sort of rhythm or build momentum. I would take him on loan for a season. Send him back if he is broken. Madrid might snap our hands off to get him off the wage bill. This option gives Mason some time to mature and learn.

Keep laughing. You'll regret it...:D

Seriously, this fecker is done. I bet you Madrid fans on here would agree with me, but probably won't say anything as they're desperate for our stupid directors to take him off their hands.

I think if it's a loan it makes sense from a footballing and economic point of view - you also need to look at the context of w ht data going on with our other transfer dealings

it doesn't look like we are attracting players like Sancho/De Ligt until we get our house in order - we aren't in the CL and we look a mess to the outside world

we've the biggest transition in my lifetime ahead of us in the next 2/3 seasons and having a class act like Bale could prove the difference in qualifying for the Champions League

with a new DoF, a more settled squad and CL qualification I think we will be a lot more attractive to young superstars and prospects

Going into the season potentially relying on Rashford, Martial, James, Lukaku and Sanchez could be problematic - we've the most inconsistent collection of streaky attackers, Sanchez looks done and it is unfair to expect a young player like James to make the kind of impact required - Bale and his creativity, goals and experience could be crucial

What is the point of Bale? He's not a long term option regardless and he's on huge wages. He's injured a lot of the time too. Is it just to get United back into the top 4? Why can't United do that without Bale? Meanwhile it will help fund Madrid bid for Pogba and what is the reason for selling Pogba? Because he doesn't want to be at United right? In that case, why would you want Bale who has already rejected United? He's willing to sit on the bench at Madrid collecting his wages while Zidane openly wants him out because he likes living in Madrid. That's the character people want at United?
Exactly!! I don't want him near the club for those reasons you stated. Ed has been after him for years can see it actually happening. Only plus, a very expensive plus is he can mentor James. Only real positive I can think of.

Short term when fit might put in a few performances better than what Sanchez has done since he's been here, but on about Sanchez we'd have two expensive crocks on our books if we don't shift Sanchez. Ugh!

I think it's probably be the only type of smart business regarding Bale. To get him on loan, pay half his wages. No way should united buy because they'll be stuck with a massive wage. He is still very deadly and if there's a player available that can drive united higher up the table, its only him. He could easily be what Hazard was to Chelsea, a big goal threat. Only task will be to stop him from from fracturing his leg when hes training.

Some fans need to be realistic, we’d all love to sign De Ligt, Sancho, Cancello & Felix this summer and ignore the likes of Bale but if we can’t due to our current position then the option of giving away Sanchez and swapping his wages for Bale on a one year deal is surely an interesting one?
Surely it’s more interesting than playing Lingard RW all next season?

He'll get injured as much as possible, and spend his days on the nearest golf course.

If his injury record is terrible after 6 months then terminate and send him back to Madrid. That's the whole point in loan deals, they're low risk.

All the people in this thread who want us to sign Bale talk about him like he's still the player he was years ago. If you have watched him at all in the last 12 months you will have seen a player who can't beat his man, doesn't create much, doesn't score much and loses possession constantly. There's a reason the Madrid fans boo him and the club are desperate to be rid of him, he's finished.

Keep laughing. You'll regret it...:D

Seriously, this fecker is done. I bet you Madrid fans on here would agree with me, but probably won't say anything as they're desperate for our stupid directors to take him off their hands.
Madrid fans thought Ronaldo was done every time he had a bad game, they even think courtois is done because of the way the defence has exposed him. Madrid fans are the most fickle fans in the world, waving white hankies and booing their own players week in week out. Its no wonder bale doesn't feel wanted at madrid. If we can get him in loan for a season then we should take it, the guy is a quality player that can change games in an instant and would improve our rw. Even if he was injured and in the physio room he improves our rw such is the alternatives. If we stick with mata and lingard all season for rw then we will be in trouble. I think ogs might get awb and move dalot further forward as a winger. Dalot isn't the best at defending but he could do a job further up the pitch.

So Bale isn't the player he was a few seasons ago (who is), but I think the bashing here is going overboard. He would massively upgrade our team and in a position we've been crying out for. Others have debunked the injury prone stick many keep waving. 42 games last season. Can't see how this is a bad loan. If it doesn't work, we send him back. If it works, we'll be a better team by miles. If we're not buying any top grade right winger, I'll happily chance this than nothing, or another no mark prospect. This is Gareth Bale for goodness sakes...

Real have a couple of expensive players they need rid of in James and Bale. As long as Utd get Bale cheaply, then no issue at all. I’ve advicated a Bale loan for a while.

No idea why posters bring up him turning us down as a major issue - previously he didn’t consider Utd to be his best option, big bloody deal. Get over it.

Utd only have a limited amount of money, and need some inspiration in attack, if we can have him as a stop gap and he provides enough fire power to get us into the CL, that’s good enough, and he’s certainly capable of that.

Would take him on a loan for sure. Even if he's lost pace, his ability from set pieces and his potential for goals is very good. You wouldn't build the squad round him but I think people are being short sighted. We don't have the quality to say no and tbh, it could be a good players for us at a small cost which allows us to spend elsewhere.

Imagine wanting Bale to be added to our rotten squad, napalm wouldnt help us.

Bringing Bale on loan could be risky but smart move if we are serious about rebuilding our squad with young and hungry players.

Bale will hold our attack and instantly become our talisman, but we first need to get rid of Sanchez, Lukaku and Pogba, that's already 900k - £1m removed from our wages + huge ego within our team.

This sudden “he has a bad attitude” rhetoric is nonsense.

It only stems from:

1) Managers not giving him gametime even when he is fit - he wants to play football first and foremost
2) Real fans booing him because they want a scapegoat for failures in the league, despite him scoring in multiple champions league finals for them. These are the fans who chased a club legend like Iker Casillas away, remember.

Off the pitch he has always been a consummate professional - doesn’t drink or get caught up in scandal.

Another reason for RM fans hatred of him is that he goes above and beyond to play in as many games as possible for Wales - that doesn’t strike me as the action of a man who’s fed up with football and just wants to play golf.

Minimal risk with a loan deal, and he’s a million times better than any other option we have on the wings. Sign him up.

Given he is most likely James idol it could be really good to have Bale around to aid his development. Also him at the tip of a diamond behind the front two could really work....

Loan only though.

Actually my answer would be yes and no at the same time.

I think he's done for Real Madrid but he's still way too good not to be suitable for a challenge in another club. And if that club is in the Premiership, then so much better for him.

Bale was known for not being able to speak Spanish after 5 seasons in Madrid. He even had problems at some point with his teammates. He's won everything there is to win there and more, I think his time at Madrid has to reach an end.

I think a new club would work wonders for him.

Of course you would say this:lol:

United aren't the club for him. I would cry if we got him. It's totally wrong for us. He's done. Keep him at Madrid.

He scored one of the best CL final goals ever just a little over a year ago yet zidane still couldn’t look at him. Zidane seems to have a personal issue with him and Madrid fans back their legend
