What would we achieve with 1 year of Bale paying him 2-300k a week? Serious question. Obviously improves on Lingard or whoever, but we're not winning the title with Messi let alone fecking Bale. I would just prioritize fixing CB, RB and the whole midfield if we can't get our main right wing targets. A team with the midfield and defence sorted once they blend together will take us a lot further and set us up better long term (and help Martial, Rashford and Pogba find more consistency over a season without a doubt) compared to sacrifice on those positions to get a stop gap in at right wing. Either way if we sort out our midfield and defence I think we'll get top 4 (or win the Europa League). With Bale here but without sorting out the defence, I dont think we do that. With Bale here and with us sorting out the midfield and defence, I don't think it would change anything significant in terms of league position.
Sorry I'm confused, so us signing Bale on loan for 12 months paying him 250k a week will stop us from sorting out any other position? Have I read that correctly?
Why would us loaning a player for a year stop us from buying players for other positions? You are making zero sense mate.
What would Bale bring hmmm a bit of balance to our attack, freeing up the left hand side which at the moment is so lobsided because we have ZERO threat from the right, balance our play completely, give us another dimension when we attack? Plus a goal threat, good delivery, good free kick taker finally, just of the top of my head.
Mata looks like he is going, he is on what 150k a week or something, if not more, your point is completely and utterly irrelevant.
Also, yeah it would be a stop gap, it would be a MAJOR upgrade on Lingard, it would allow us 12 months to get back into the top 4 and we could go and buy say Sancho for 100m (or whatever) next summer.
I know this might sound crazy but paying Bale 250/300k a week for 12 months will not spend all of our 200/250m summer budger (crazy right).
If Lukaku goes for 60m to Inter, we could potentially have 300m to spend this summer in theory, I think I THINK we can afford we can afford it (give that Sanchez, Mata, Herrera, Valencia, Darmian, Rojo) will all be off the wage bill as well.
United will still purchase a CB, RB, CM and probably a CF if Lukaku goes irrespective of whether we buy Bale/Pepe/Brooks/Sancho or whoever for the right hand side.
Makes your point a little bit pointless
