City will fold and pay like they will for Stones. They folded for De Bruyne and Sterling last year.
City are just wasting their time, trying to forge a reputation as hard bargainers.

Well not everybody can drive a hard bargain like Woody.

Yeah that was clearly briefing from City. They did the same when Laporte signed a new contract, and you heard BBC, Sky Sports, MEN, Guardian and Telegraph journos saying near word for word the same in "Laporte is too young, inexperienced, expensive, wanted to play him as a LB anyway and that United also got rejected".

I hear Pep is hoping to initiate Sane into the City squad in a friendly sponsored by the Manchester Evening News. Apparently the initiation includes fecking him in the arse during the match!

Is that right sinch?

Yes it is, Pep is going to be in Sane in the MEN game.

Almost as funny as your Mario Pogba joke.

I think Pep might use the 4-1-4-1 formation for City next season, especially against weaker teams who sit back.

Aguero
Nolito KDB Silva Sane
Gundogan
Back four
That is one severely unbalanced midfield. Their backline is completely left to the wolves. We would wupp that teams ass on counters

He said that's what they'd play against weaker teams who sit back. Didn't realise you classed United as such ;)

Even against a team that sits back that is dangerous. All it takes is one careless mistake in midfield and their screwed.

To be fair, he did just say against the weaker teams who sit back.

Fernandinho will be in there against better midfields, no doubt.

Of course he won't use it against a team like United but at home against relegation fodder who come there to park the bus and try to get 1 point I think he could use a system like that.

Midfield will be overrun by counter attacking . Gundogan is not a defensive midfielder on his own. No, even weaker teams still have some strong runners who can exploit this. You surprisingly underestimate the athleticism of PL teams.

Hope City dithers and Schalke keeps hold of Sane.

That setup won't fly in the PL. Even teams that sit back will be able to hurt them massively on the counter.

The problem is even relegation fodders have the attackng talent to hurt them. Gundogan screening the back four is asking for trouble imo.
The two people I front of him aren't even hard working players.

I don't understand the signing when they have Sterling, Silva, KDB, Nolito, Navas already

How are they all going to play?

Navas and Pound Sterling are condemned to the bench I think. Silva will get his customary injuries.

All this 'Pep will improve Sterling' talk from City fans...I am not so sure.
Sterling really isn't a Pep player. The likes of Costa and Coman who improved under Pep all have fantasric technique and a great feel for the game even if they were frustrating. Sterling has gone backwards and looks similar to Walcott at the moment..just a small winger with great pace. His technique and dribbling are poor; and his shooting is awful as well. Can Pep really improve a player that lacking? Gotze didn't improve under Pep and he is very skilled.

KDB - Yaya

I have zero faith in Sterling whatsoever. I think he is a massively overrated and his main asset which is his accelereration isn't even that useful since he really isnt that quick, meaning that after 10 metres or so must fullbacks catch him. Also he has the football intelligence of a peanut.

I think he will warm the bench for City.

Pep wanted him at Bayern though

I genuinely disagree that he's a poor dribbler, but I agree massively that his shooting is awful. He just looked so lost and lacking in confidence last season it was frightening, he wouldn't even attempt to beat his man, and you have to cast your mind back to 13/14 at Liverpool to when he was last excellent that season; to be doing what he did at 18 reminds me that there's clearly natural ability in there - he was consistently leaving players for dead. It's probably make or break for him this season though really (which is added pressure he doesn't need). He either turns it around and becomes a real player, or he'll be sold off and spend his days at mid-table clubs.

Haha what the hell. No chance De Bruyne has literally no defensive qualities and Yaya does not have the work rate to make up for Gundogans lack of physicality. I imagine they will line up something like this:

Silva-Aguero-Sane
KDB-Gundogan
Fernandinho

There's absolutely nobody to defend.
Normally his team is compact. Everyone defend.

Sometimes, he used to play:
Lewandowski
Costa Gotze Muller Coman
Vidal
That's similar to Real Madrid:
Ronaldo Benzema Bale
Isco Modric
Kroos
It changes depending of the game.
He also used to play a formation with 3 defenders when he was in Bayern. So he could try something like this:

Agüero
Nolito KDB Sane
Gundogan Fernandinho Toure
New CB Otamendi Kompany
Hart
I think he will end up playing 433/4141. He normally rotates player depending of the game, situations and good/bad form of the players.

Let's not all get worried just yet. Sterling showed just as much promise moving to City and look how that's panned out so far. Wonderkids don't always improve, and they don't always work out.

City do seem to be going a bit overboard on the attacking midfielders. Especially when you look at their defence.

I wonder if Pep will shift one of the Ferdies into the back line?

They'll have Sterling, Sane, Navas, Nolito, Nasri, Silva and De Bruyne for 3 attacking places.
I think Silva will start alongside De Bruyne and Nolito (if Silva can play from the right cutting inside).

Yes
This is how i see it

Should never have left Liverpool imo. I don't think teams like Madrid and City are good for young developing players because of the huge transfer fees and expectations. Those teams don't have patience with young players. If he stayed at Pool...he would be under Klopp and the media would love him even if he is putting in poor performances...therefore he could basically develop at his own pace. At City, he is under huge pressure especially if they sign Sane. Guardiola won't be able to keep backing him.

As we have seen from the constant headlines...the media have turned on him as well and he's the new Ashley Cole. I can't see him ever winning them back because Ashley Cole is still hated despite being probably England's best performer in international tournaments. I know people will say 'who cares about the media' or 'what the sun writes' but I think the bullying by the media has affected him. Not every player is built like Suarez.

Pep wanted him at Bayern though
He looked really good under Rodgers

He was the next big thing at Pool, the media loved him and the hype was building as always with a young British player. Everything has changed since then, and his performances haven't lived up to the price tag.

Who knows...Pep may turn him into a player but i am cautious when fans expect great managers managers to turn average technique players in to stars.
I remember Arsenal fans saying Wenger would turn Walcott & Welbeck into the 'next Henry'.

Pep wanting him at Bayern is just a rumour the English press created. Don't remember any German paper carrying it.
I think it might be one of Pep's mandates to get him going. Being English costing £49m, City have to hope he turns it around. Won't surprise me if he starts the season ahead of Nolito.
As for Sane, should we take Shalke's threat seriously?

You can't leave a magician like Silva out

Think City will play

--------------------------Aguero-------------------------

--------------Gundogan---Fernandinho-------

Toure is too lazy and I think Pep will get shot

Nolito/Sterling to provide support

That's exactly the side id choose and good enough to win the league IMO. Of course it's whether those players can stay fit. Plus defence isn't anywhere near as strong as the midfield and attack but in a possession based system we should be able to manage with the personnel we have.

Pep likes his wingers. He played Muller wide because you just have to play Muller. Don't think Silva will be given that status.
