Can't clubs begin speaking to players in January for a bosman?
Not if you are playing in the same country, you have to wait until end of season then but doesn't really matter as the club can always speak to the agent whenever they want.

Not in the same country.

So for Ozil etc, foreign clubs can speak to him in January were as we'd have to wait till summer.

Does he play central?

I'm desperate to see us sign a wide man.

Plays in central midfield so would be competing with Pogba and Matic. He'd complement them both very well though and would make us much better when we play with 3 in midfield.

Anyone else think his play-style and build is very similar to Draxler's?

He plays quite a bit deeper than Draxler, but you won't see that side on his youtube reel. I'll try and find an all round video now.

His highlight reel is like a mini Pogba, starting from deep with driving runs, excellent passes and goals.

Ah, cheers.

Aye, I'm aware he plays deeper than Draxler. Watched Goretzka a few times when watching replays of the Bundesliga when I got nothing else to do and his style has just reminded me of Draxler operating deeper. He's got that same frame, speed, technical ability to him. Neat finisher too.

Are you guys sure? I don't think that's true. I think that a player whose contract ends in summer can sign a new contract with another club, for the time after that, from 1st of January on, also with clubs of the same federation.

No, not for the same country. Can do it for another country.

Matic
Goretska Pogba

That looks like a class midfield. This is going to be such a tease.

I'm just happy we're looking at that area of the pitch, only worry is that it wouldn't make sense with the Ozil rumours.

As far as i know, this is not the case in other countries, though. So Bayern would be allowed to speak to him in January, even though Schalke and Bayern are obviously in the same country.

Actually I think people confuse the Webster ruling with the Bosman ruling. According to the Bosman ruling, a player whose contract runs out can sign a new contract with another club from 6 months before end of contract on. Don't see how the country of the new club plays a role here.

It's almost as if everyone has just forgotten how unreliable Sky Sports are.

Now i have to google the Webster ruling. Interesting, thanks. :)

At least in Germany it doesn’t. Lewandowski was a done deal as soon as January arrived.

Might just be a leak to put pressure on Fellaini to sign.

Not really, Draxler is an AM and flair player. Gortezka is more like a box 2 box player.

Both would want 1st team guarantees and don't fit into the same line up

Play Ozil off the wings. Play Ozil behind the striker in certain games. Rest Pogba in certain games. Rest Ozil in certain games. We need quality rotation options.

Please no. We can sign both and a class winger. Look at City?

Yeah, we could still sign a winger. I'm just saying we need options. I didn't really mean off the wing, but more of a AM just off the left/right.

--------Matic
-Goretzka-Pogba
--------Ozil
---Lukaku-Martial

In January.

According to FM, you can't sign payer players between PL clubs. Rule for other league is straight forward.

So the FA are screwing over their league yet again? Does any other FA hinder their clubs more than the English one?

I think you read it wrong or I didn't post correctly. You can sign pre contract with players from other league but not from PL teams to PL teams. Not sure how correct that is but that's the rule in FM and they are usually correct.

It's probably there to protect PL clubs. Other leagues you can have bigger teams vulture players from the smaller teams in their league. Obviously, it doesn't really work 100% because teams from Europe can swoop in on premier league talent.

Ozil played his best football of his career under Mourinho on the right wing. Winning both La Liga and Cup Del Rey while playing out wide.

Here's the team sheets from their Copa Del Rey win vs the best ever Barcelona side.

Mourinho's title winning Real side is always forgotten when discussing Jose.

All the reports linking Goretzka with a January move are pure nonsense..he will go nowhere before the summer.

A summer move it is, despite Schalke still fighting for him offering lucrative financial packages, but that be successful.

IMO a deal between Bayern and him has been agreed in principle last summer and I would be surprised not to see an announcement being made until February-March.

Pay the money and loan him back for 6 months. Our best hence of getting him.
