Im glad im not the only one who is seeing that he hasnt been great.
For me, nearly every time he comes on the pitch we let in a goal that heavily contributed on the right hand side of the pitch even if its finished centrally.
He seems like he plays like a bit like the defensive version of Hojlund where he is 2 seconds behind the tempo of the defensive play needed.
For the Mazroui foul, Yoro was inviting the pressure on to Mazroui to deal with the man by himself when he as the most wide central defender should have provided him support rather than moving more centrally which led Mazroui move deeper and deeper until he let in a foul.
This is why many people including me could see that Mazroui was going to make a penalty foul before he actually made the tackle because Yoro was drawing the pressure in for Mazroui to deal with a player directly by himself rather than providing support. Remember that Mazroui is supposed to be positioned as a RWB in this system - so the position the tackle is supposed to be made should be heavily influenced by the RCB atleast through his positioning. Him being behind Mazroui is always going to happen, but what should have happened is Yoro going in to provide support for Mazroui so our RWB isnt going to deal with the attacker by himself.
The 3rd goal was started by a loss of play by Mainoo but was heavily influenced again by the right hand side of the pitch. I dont even need to talk about that goal because his hesitance on making a tackle and being 2 seconds behind the play can easily be seen.
If he wasnt touted as this french wonderkid we bought from Real Madrid's hands then i think peoples perception of him would be more balanced.
All i've seen so far is a few decent passes and nothing much else so far.
