Very promising. I've been meaning to say this for a while but I don't get where the automatic 'he's fast/rapid' shouts come from. He's got great length and when in motion has good speed but he doesn't look like he has a turn of acceleration/first step as of now. I think we've seen a few times where he's been caught a bit lacking on runs or when getting touch tight. Even in the highlight videos from last season in France, I never thought 'he's really fast'. Having said that, I think he has got a lot of athletic potential and can grow in a stronger/faster body; he is literally still in a teenager's body. He's not slow but far from Amad/Garnacho acceleration or Dalot/Hojlund type speed. It's somewhere in the middle for me based on the very low sample size.

He hasn't got quickness but he's fast enough and moves well enough to be our cover CB. Compare him to other well known fast CBs like Varane, VVD and Rio. Is he slower than them? Also, because of his long limbs, he eats up ground deceptively quickly too.
Still young and inexperienced so will make mistakes. His long passing will needs to be addressed, either he improves them significantly or he sticks to his limits.

Clearly very talented but still seems to jave things to learn defensively
It would be upsetting if our 18 year old player didn’t have any room left for improvement :)
Garnacho, for instance, is 2 years older…

It is absolutely clear that Yoro is - at the very least - good enough to be a part of first team rotation

He hasn't got quickness?
What does that mean

22 league games to go and we are only 6 points behind 4th place team. League is not written off.

We are also in 13th place and on course to get less than 50 points this season!

Last season we were 8th and we have regressed. We also have a new manager and system to get used to.

This season is very clearly one of transition.

If its a transition season, why send him on loan?

I was sat behind the bench at city. He is a massive bastard. Has great coordination and balance for a guy his size. He’s gonna end up as a brilliant player, if things go to plan.

Over a long distance he's quick as feck.

Works well if you're playing a high line.

It takes one winning run and the league will change on its head. It's a weird league this year.

We have already shown big improvement in the performance.

No way season is a written off, especially with such a small gap between 4th and our position.

Also at this point of the season, league position doesn't matter. Things change very quickly.

So typical of the spineless caf. Year after year half the board declare the season over a third of the way through after a couple of losses. Straighten your fecking backs and get in the fight, none of this weak ass ‘scared to be hurt’ stuff people keep posting. How can you give up on the CL 6 points away from 4th?

Do people believe he's better suited playing on the right side of a back three or as the central defender? Personally, while he has performed admirably in wide positions, I’d like to see him take a central role. However, if I were to critique him, despite his height, he doesn't seem particularly dominant in aerial duels.

Being in the centre would be a waste of his athleticism and ability to cover a wide area. Not saying it won't ever happen, but we have other players better suited to the centre role at the moment.

He has some flaws, but already at this young age he is good enough to have earned his spot in the starting XI. With more matches he will get more adapted to the league and develop the skills he’s lacking, and probably also become more adventurous on the ball. As for now he is smart to keep it simple. If United coaching staff can give him what he needs, he’ll be one of the top PL CBs in the near future.

I'm sure more is to come and injury slowed down him getting acclimatised to the team, league etc. Couldn't have helped with the amount of upheaval at the club during this time too...

Mazraoui made a huge mistake but Yoro should've helped him when he got isolated.

Don't know what you were watching. Was easily our best CB last night.
Easily the most ridiculous take I’ve heard in here for a while.
Spotted another one whose ball knowledge I will utterly ignore.
So you all think he's currently ready for first team football in this system against premier league opposition? Fair enough, I hope I'm wrong but I'm not seeing it quite yet. He was poor again today in those areas I mentioned but again, I don't want to be too harsh on such a young defender.

Wasn't he behind Maz? I kinda remember yoro being there waving a no to the ref, which made me think the mistake by maz was even bigger.

He was right there to assist him if he doesn’t decide to just dive in.
He looked hesitant about whether to get involved or stay with his man. He kinda ended up doing neither at the end and Kluivert would've had a couple of good options if Mazraoui didn't dive in. Tbf, I don't think the hesitation was entirely his fault because it didn't seem that someone else was going to cover the cut back.

No, Yoro was in a good position before and after the tackle:

You may be misremembering the situation because a similar thing happened against Spurs for their second goal where Yoro was indecisive/caught on his heels and didn't cover Mazraoui.

In this game Mazraoui had already got goal side of the player and was in a good position so the desperate tackle was a massive mistake.
