In a way, I like the way he is being integrated into the side. Comes in, shows his quality under the radar, doesn't put a foot wrong AND is not expected to carry the defense in aby way. With time he can take on more defensive responsibilities.

Exactly how it should be.

Exactly how we don't normally do it.

That sliding tackle was unreal.

Agree, I wish we had the opportunity to do the same with Rasmus, both young lads and need easing in.

I think we desperately need him at RCB but you are right and it's probably going to work out better in the long-term that he's not starting week in week out immediately. After all, that's what I wanted when we signed him.

Mazraoui being able to put in decent shifts at RCB also helps, but I'm surprised that both De Ligt and Maguire are often playing together in a back 3.

To come into a quiet Anfield and fit in seamlessly at CB for a young player is brilliant. Got high hopes for Yoro.

Match winning tackle. Good performance overall by him in a tough game.

Absolutely brilliant challenge to save the draw and he played a brilliant ball to Garnacho when he was flagged offside.

He's understandably struggled a little bit so far being so young and coming back from injury into a mess of a team but if we can settle him in more consistently as the right side of the back 3 over the 2nd half of the season then that will be one big positive for us because he's clearly a very talented prospect.

I’m seeing a lot of positives. That tackle was excellent today, and previously his passing looks very composed with either foot.

That tackle was a work of art, they should make a statue of it outside Old Trafford
OK, first off I'm not sure why everyone is talking about a player's tackle today and how impressive it apparently is. And, two, City already have a couple of knobs outside the Etihad so Manchester doesn't need anymore statues like that.

You can really see smatterings of the potential that was talked about. His confidence is also a joy. I understand why he's not starting games at the moment but certainly look forward to it.

The tackle the switch and there was one moment where he just opened up and strode out with the ball and looked like he could do something. Was only a short cameo but looks promising.

I’d like to see a lot more of him in the next few weeks and months.

Yes we need defenders who can single handedly defend large spaces when the wing backs bomb forward and he is showing with his speed and anticipation to cover ground that he is excellent in defending space.

He has it all the traits to be an elite CB. Has a raking diag in his locker too. Glad we went so hard to get him in the summer.

Building blocks emerging - maz, Lenny, dalot, ugarte, mainoo, amad, garnacho and Bruno and Martinez turned up bigtime today.

Already our best cb. Still needs to be managed carefully of course, but hope he can play more and more this spring.
I am just not afraid that he will be caught flatfooted the same way i do with Maguire and de Ligt.
His passing his good as well. Can also play with his head up and play a quick one touch pass forward to set up an attack.
Something you very rarely see from our other options.

I agree. I think Maguire and de Ligt have been alright together because in the big games we have been compact and haven't faced a lot of transitions where they would be caught out due to their lack of pace.

However, when we arrive to the point where we can exert more control over smaller teams every game, we will inevitably face more quick breaks from the opponents, which is where Yoro's physical profile will be crucial. I think all three of Maguire, de Ligt and Martínez will need two channel defenders protecting them in situations like that, so another wide CB, preferable a left-footed one will have to be signed in the summer at the latest.

I think he will likely make some mistakes that might cost us goals / points in the future. He's a raw talent, not a mature and established player just yet, but that's to be expected at 19 with only one full senior season in football under his belt so far. I don't think he's our best CB yet, because of this, but he should be by far our best one within 2-3 years' time.
