You don't think he's worth £7M? On the basis that he's not as good as Enrique or Clichy that's probably true. He certainly isn't worth any more.
By the way I'll be surprised if fabio ever becomes first team regular, there I said it.
I love rafael though. I hope I'm wrong about fabio.
he won't at the rate he is progressing, that's where i agree with a loan. On the other hand, if we sign another left back i can't see him staying. When does his contract finish?
2014.
Apparently Moyes has said if we sell Baines he will also leave. Speculation that it is a bluff for Fellaini (most Everton fans believe one of Fellaini or Baines are likely to leave or be bid for this summer).

Driving up the price.
If he got 15m for Baines he wouldn't leave at all.
If we got 15m for Baines we would only have around 5m to actually spend in my opinion which would only be enough for Pienaar. We'd want around 20m so we could purchase a replacement LB aswell as another signing (Pienaar).
But if you offered us Fabio on loan and 15m i'd take it.

Would be a great deal for you lot, but i'd prefer we actually just keep Fabio and play him more often than spend all that on a 28 year old.
no more scousers at utd. Ideally we would have a 'no-scouse' policy that somewhat was like bilbao's 'basque-only' policy.

Who gives a feck where a player is from?
John Terry.
Oh bro, I totally just said that. That totally just happened.
I dont understand all the love-in for Fabio, he has shown very little yet apart from a tendancy to get consistently injured!

Not right now you don't. It's unfortunate that Baines is 27 tbh, if he was then this move would be very sensible. In the next two years you will definitely need a new left back, be it back up to fabio or as a first team player and Baines at 29 would be too old to spend 15 million on at that time. At 27 you can still get 5 solid years.

There's a lot of talk in this thread about Baines' supposedly lack of pace.
What's your take on it?

I don't think he is lacking in pace. His pace is just average and something in his game which is probably pointed out as a weakness as it may falter him in his defensive duties which he's suspect like Evra but less so imo. Evra has the problem of letting people get by him but then seemingly looking like he can't be fecked running back so just jogs, at least Baines attempts to get back. But tbh having average pace is nothing to be ashamed with when you have wingers in the PL as quick as Walcott/Lennon etc.
most of Fabios games have been at RB for us so far
John Terry.
