Agreed, there must be knockouts leading to a winner. All I'm saying is in a draft like this one (or sheep drafts, or any that likely winds up with huge disparities) it's probably best to rank and then have the top 8 play 4 games, then semis, then final. You almost halve the duration of the tourno side of things and the aggro that loads of pointless matchthreads cause on the football forum.

That's way too clinical. Matches are much more random than that. I did get a 1st round victory bigging up Pantsil over Liedholm. Undeserved and all that, but still it did happen. Even in real life big teams play against a shit team and lose.

I agree with harms. Matches may be boring in many cases, but alternatives are worse.

Clarification on Box 12:

- Jaywin wanted to pick a player who came out of retirement to play in ISL (Indian Super League), which I did not permit. Only movement between teams playing in FIFA Affiliated Conferences will be eligible.
- Subject to the above, going into and coming out of retirement will be eligible under this.

Got it. I think, however, they should be available right away for the next manager. Otherwise those who are either end of the snake are in much better position than those in the middle.
 
Btw, @Edgar Allan Pillow, have you considered changing the pick order every round like we usually do? Otherwise it's an advantage, and sometimes a big one, for the ones higher on the list, as they will always have a bigger pool to choose from

It's not as critical as it is in the usual snake draft, but still

Edit: nvm, "This will be the pick order all through the draft" is overruled by "Snake order reversed alternate rounds as usual"?

The disparity could become really brutal if one of the top boys get a few more favourable rolls of the dice. Still, looking forward to a few meltdowns and ingenious managers making the most of poor luck.

Thing is, you have feck all idea what you or others will have a chance to pick in forthcoming rounds so at this stage it's just a case of picking the best available player. Very easy. It will be a fecking nightmare when your team starts shaping up and the box you land on only has Buttner as an option, for instance. Even the "third in Ballon d'Or" could turn into an unwanted box if you need a RB (haven't checked, just assuming).
