There is still one player who can look alright in the first round if you're lucky.
And a few interesting choices, but it's tougher for the attackers.

Makélélé is a great pick at this stage! I actually considered him along with Figo and a couple of others when I landed in the Mourinho box early in the game.

For future monopoly drafts. Does anybody agree that we could leave out the "drop/relax" rounds? They get extremely tedious and you are left to do nothing for 48 hours pretty much. Something more creative that kept you occupied making some choices somehow would be a lot more enjoyable.

Agreed. I think the Drop square should have been a Drop and Reroll so there is still a pick and Relax was a late addition that shouldn't have existed. It was supposed to be the Comrade box which gave everyone a rather unique but limited pool that I think would have been more interesting for building our squads.

The comrade box was a big loss, thought that would play a great role when it was decided.
 
Happy to see people agree, I love the overall concept and it is one of the best ideas we've tried out and with some modifications for balance and the abovementioned it should be a great addition in the future.

Said it at the beginning - kills momentum. But agreed fantastic draft concept and can do different themes as well.
 
Yeah the drop and re roll is a good idea. I'd make it a random drop though so it can't be used to just get rid of poor picks.

The relax box can easily be filled with a different criteria that someone thinks of.

All players will have to bet one of their first 2 picks for picks. (The next surprise will be harder and you'll have to bet the other one left out in this round, so make the wise choice)

Rt/Sjor/Marty, Raees/Invictus and harms can bet any of their picks 3-5.

Pack: 13 cards (A, 2-10, K, Q, J) and 4 suits clubs (♣), diamonds (♦), hearts (♥) and spades (♠)

Every manager would choose 2 cards and 1 suit (e.g. 5 , 6 and hearts)

Note:
A would just be 1 point. No flex.
Bust would be 0 points
Face cards are worth 10 points only.

At the end of the round, I'll draw the 3rd card + a suit at random and winner are:

Grand Winner:
Condition: Whoever gets exactly 21 and the suit correct.
Prize: Pick a player from the pool.​

Winner:
Condition: Gets exactly 21 but suit wrong.
Prize: Double it up. Can pick 2 players in any of the next 3 turns. Must be used. If they land on Box 13 with this not used, they drop 2 players.​

Consolation:
Condition: Closest to 21. If tied, draft master will use other discretion or randomize to win.
Prize: Move 2 managers to a box of their (consolation winner's) choice for the current turn.​

Loser:
Condition: Biggest difference from 21. I'll randomize if tied.
Penalty: Gets moved to Box 3.​

Picked him too since you had nabbed Figo. It's a bit disturbing that I picked so many R11 players before others bagged the likes of Marco van Basten :annoyed:

Relax isn't any use. Drop should still be there but randomised. All we have to do is announce the result of the randomisation when your turn comes.

That will keep you busy worrying before and busy bitching after.

Make it two drop boxes then.

Not even looked at the pool yet but I don't quite get the suprise round. I've got to put up both my 1st and 2nd picks? Or pick one of them? Is that the players that then get picked from by the winner?

A better idea is to have the drop round as well as a criteria in that box so you both have to drop one player and pick one - so you are doing something.

Drop and re-roll as it'd be impossible to gauge what level criteria to put in that box.

Figured out this suprise round now aswell.

I'll bet Totti.

@Edgar Allan Pillow what's worse going bust or a grand total of say 5?
