Blanchflower-Edwards is a cracking duo in all fairness and I think you've got it spot on in terms of balance so far - quite the task given that you sport the highly volatile duo of Best-Garrincha on your flanks.

I'm young in my defence and never heard of him before. One of the joys of these drafts hearing you all describe players previously unknown to me.

"Alright" :o:mad::mad: A legend. I agree with Joga that Edwards and Blanchflower is about as perfect as it gets. Young Duncan next to one of the most inspirational leaders of all time and few have managed to have that passing range yet still combined it with the mobility and being so defensively astute as well. Watching him play and reading up on him was a joy, hopefully we get to see a lot of great work in that regard here.

You guys have excellent team so far - 2 great wingers - cant upgrade on that, solid and functional midfield Law/Best link up front. Will be interesting to see how you'll complete it.

If McGrath was eligible in that box I'd have long picked him. He's a type of CB I'm looking at to be honest.

I think he just missed Lizarazu's pick to be honest, but even if he didn't it was a purely hypothetical argument regarding the use of your prize.

He isn't in the top tier of midfielders in the all-time unrestricted draft, but he isn't out of place either. I guess that the likes of Van Persie or Aguero would be a nice analogy in the striker's pool.

Yeah that's what I took from my quick read on him. One of spurs greatest ever players can't be too bad. Still can't decide whether to screw my own chances and go for full meltdown with my pick or improve my own chances with what I actually need.

Out of curiosity what positions are you looking at? If it was me with the free pick, I'd surely pick one of the GOAT's, but also that provide some tactical flexibility.

Yeah, that's the obvious option, but he doesn't have defenders(bar Lizarazu) and if I was him I'd pick a certain someone that is above the rest.

But then again there are the wide options as well. Abundance of riches, depends on the approach.

Even if we forget the fact that he can't take him :) From an all time pool while Marco would obviously be great in that team he has several qualities that wouldn't be of complete use with the players in that team, with a ser of playmakers like that who are going to put the chances on a plate time and again and take care of the creativity and control entirely you need a no nonsense finisher to put it in the back of the net. Even from an all time perspective.

Yes. He can. P-Nut said he will make his pick on Round 8 when Van Basten is available. And lets be honest. You have the most stacked team and for competitive fairness, you are clearly the first choice to steal a player from with both Pele and Van Basten ;)
 
with so much creativity behind id take Romario or Suarez up front.....but then again, it would be stupid to waste such a powerful card on them when you can get a proper GOAT.

EAP said teams won't be 'doubled up on', so Aldo is safe from getting a player stolen, same with Joga/Maz.

I took that as meaning immunity lasts all of Round 7 but thats it. If a player lands on Square 1 he isn't immune to landing on square 13 the next turn yes?

PNut's Bonus is active until Round 9 so the next two rounds Aldo and Joga are vulnerable. Maybe I am just misunderstanding the entire way these surprise rounds work? It seemed clear to me that people crappy picked are immune to PNut that turn but I dont see why they would be permanently immune to PNut.

It doesnt really make any sense for Aldo to be permanently immune to PNut because he got sent to Box 13 on Round 7. The no Double Negative seems to only apply to a single round.

Otherwise why isn't it stated that people can't land in Box 13 twice? That is a double negative also.
