The “meltdown” category as it stands looks a bit odd to me: Sent off in a World Cup (all stages) is clear, but what about the CL? Is a player who was sent off in a CL group stage match eligible?

I'm pretty sure its full stages of both CL and WC from group stage on. That was the one category I looked at and with just WC and CL final matches it was only like 7-8 people in the pool. Ill look for the post where @Edgar Allan Pillow clarified

I read that as basically the CL group stages onward and the World Cup group stages onward. But then I only linked the WC red cards since Wiki had it in one list.

WTF. I picked Zidane under the impression that it is only the finals, that is what it says on the board.

Including the CL at all seems a bit pointless to me. There are loads of eligible players if you go with all stages of the WC.

Loads of shite players in an all-time context, granted, but that's another matter.

I definitely agree with this, although ironically they ended up with Maldini which is better 1st round pick than Hansen. Have to see how it all plays out though.

In hindsight maybe. Anyway wanted to to be open pool and this serves the purpose.
