Interesting, the way I remember it his first two seasons were pretty poor and the team fought relegation and in the third they were surprisingly good with him being a major factor. But he did play in a deeper role in Calgiari hasn't he? Not the forward we saw in River.

And just contemplating with MJJ on exactly who to pick.

Played deeper for one season, then the season he played natural he was nominated for world player of the year.

Sami Khedira.
Won pretty much everything there is to win, including DFB Pokal runner up and Bundesliga title with Stuttgart, CL, cups & La Liga title with Real Madrid & WC with Germany NT, plus he's on route to win the Seria A as well this year.

He can play in any of the three leagues as he was the same workhorse in all three of them, what he lacks in technique Pep & Sneijder will gladly bring, and he will bring steel and work rate to our midfield.

Haven't been following this draft due to work, but considering the pics so far, I think he is a decent pick - Jens Jeremies got picked in the round before.
Just remind if anyone bigs him up on Matchday though. I would like to hear their arguments and respond

I was pretty happy when he was subbed off at halftime and I still don't understand why.

Yes!! I'm so happy someone gave him a chance. Wanted him badly he's one of my all time favourites and I used to worship him, but Sneijder was a better fit for us.

I'd be reluctant to use him for Seria A, yes. I think in general he already proved he's the same level as he was at RM in Juve, but for the draft's sake yeah I think Seria A doesn't have a big chance of being the league we'll play him in.

We're talking about player's peak here and he's played 14 games. That's no measurement to assess that. You've already heard people being sceptical about players only having been one season in the country, Khedira hasn't even feature in half a one.
