La Liga 2017/18

You do need attackers when you compare yourselves to Barca. And look what it cost them.

Well yes, it would be kamikaze to start another league with Benzema as the only striker, but I mean that it does not seem so essential to get rid of the whole BBC. Something like Cris---Kane---Bale could be fine too.

They have totally lost the plot.

Benzema is basically Anichebe at this point.

Didn't realise Pazzini played for Levante.

Should've had a better career.

They're the La Liga & CL champions.

I can't recall a collapse as bad as this.

Another hard earned point for Madrid to ensure their 4th position in their gruelling fight for a top 4 finish.

Casemiro keeping the BS that the league is not already lost, "we take this match by match", seems like today's fixture wasn't in their calendar

And the Club World Cup Champions!

They have won the most prestigious trophies going, and yet find themselves struggling in the league, it is quite unbelievable really.

Serious question, can Real actually drop down to the Europa spots? It would mess up their transfers, though I daresay they could still attract top talent as we did even when out of the CL.

I'd say almost impossible, they have 2 points on Villarreall and 6 on Sevilla with a game in hand,

Wont Happen, the ones that are pursuing them are bottling over and over. Villareal and Sevilla lost and Madrid has 1 match less. Madrid will improve sooner or later. They are at their lowest point and they still winning more points than the ones behind.

And even if they would get out of CL, is Real Madrid. Who would say no to Madrid/Barcelona/Man Utd? you know that next year they will be there, the prestige and money?

How have Kroos and Modric been performing for you? @carvajal @giorno
Considering that the whole team has been very bad I would say that Modric has been decent, although he is affected by the lack of mobility, form and ideas of the rest of the team.
Sometimes I've seen Kroos without his usual precision in the pass, a little passive and physically bad.

The only thing that would change anything if Real fail to play UCL next season is that at least for one year I wouldn't need to think about the dreadful idea of them "lucking" another UCL title

Oh Man, Barcelona has to be 110% allright to win the champions no even that like when Inter won it under mourinho, we were the better team in Europe

But madrid, with freaking heynckes, even the one on the 66 and 2 champions ago...They were by far not the best.

But well, the fun of football

How is that impossible?? That's only a 2-game swing? They've only won 11/21 games this season and are more than capable...almost likely to lose/draw quite a few more games. I can't see them progressing in the Champions League so that should enable them to focus on the league again.

Thankfully villarreal and sevilla both lost too, and tomorrow is atletico vs valencia(unfortunately they neither is going bankrupt tonight :()

Because this roster can only be cut so much slack, if they go out vs PSG (probable) it's game over for them, the moment they keep underperforming in league and the UCL spot looks in danger Zidane is out, and they would bring the instructor of Full Metal Jacket if they feel like it.

We're already bordering comic relief with them talking about fighting the league title after losing in cup vs Leganes only to draw vs Levante the next game, knowing the club everything rest in the PSG game, but either way if they win they might start taking things seriously and have a good season end, and if they lose it's

They drain Atletico out of European luck, for everything that goes well for Real, Atletico get screwed. They migh have even tapped into Getafe's luck (that leg vs Bayern)

Nah, I think Lukaku fits that description much better tbh.

Benzema is a great all-round player who can still have an impact despite not scoring a goal.

Lol, no.

Harry Kane is the best #9 in the world, but needs to become RM's unquestionable focal point.

A role that's currently held by Cristiano.

Also, he's a very different type of player unlike Benzema.

You don't see Kane drifting to the left and Son acting like a CF for most of the game.

Very boring first half. I can´t wait for PSG. Madrid combined well but without too many intentions. It seemed at times a training rondo. Levante did nothing and still managed to score. Benzema played quite well

The biggest understatement tonight lmfao, Benzema had actually an MVP performance.

Gerry Armstrong's relentless love for Benzema is bizarre.

What 'love' are you talking about lmfao?

Benzema seems to be playing wider than Ronaldo, odd.

Benzema playing out wide for an extensive period to allow CR7 being a striker, has been for years.

Which has been pretty clear for anyone who has paid close attention to their partnership.

@carvajal

Do you think they will fire Zidane if they go out to PSG, or maybe before?
I think he will resign after the match or will announce that leaves at the end of the season.
I don't think the club will fire him. With everything lost they wouldn't need a reaction of the team and they would avoid the uncomfortable situation of firing a legend.
He earns 10m€ net with a contract until 2020 so could wait to be sacked but when he retired he didn't demand all the contract so now,and since he has been many years in the club,I believe he will be honest and resign (if we lose...)

@El Pasillo ,what would you do with the attack? Because I don't see Cristiano leaving. In that case I wouldn't think so much in future tactics but bring goals to the team and I don't see anyone better

Well, CR7 has contract until 2021 and said he likes to stay at Real Madrid.

But if Zidane (or manager X) has actually balls to make him a squad player to allow Icardi/Kane being the focal point, then he might change his opinion.

Don't forget that CR7 views himself as the best footballer in the world and wants to win Ballon d'Ors.

Which is a bit problematic to achieve such things as a rotational player...

Most of the teams are not scared to play Real anymore. Levante, on a very poor run of form atm, had a go at them in the second half and fully deserved to draw. Look at Barca, instead. You know you are gonna lose against them before the game starts. That's the main difference between them.

Your tagline

Can't believe they went on and dropped points again. I thought they would finally start a run of consistent results but they can't grasp any sort of consistency whatsoever.

:nono: You mean a difficult away point won, Mr half empty glass.
