La Liga 2017/18

We showed resilience and mental strenght by resisting 89 minutes in the terrifying ciudad de valencia, against the onslaught of mighty levante. Truly a performance for the ages, songs will be made of it

...they're probably making then up as we speak in barcelona

Well, CR7 has contract until 2021 and said he likes to stay at Real Madrid.

But if Zidane (or manager X) has actually balls to make him a squad player to allow Icardi/Kane being the focal point, then he might change his opinion.

Don't forget that CR7 views himself as the best footballer in the world and wants to win Ballon d'Ors.

Which is a bit problematic to achieve such things as a rotational player...
You're right, although I imagine that any elite player would have that problem of prominence during his first year.

In any case I do not think he can't afford that leadership attitude much longer, seeing his numbers and the situation of the team.

Conte / Zindane job swap?

No chance of Zidane getting a job over here, I in fact don't think he will become a permanent manager going from club to club, he might move on and become part of the hierarchy at a club, it was just that the Real Madrid job was too good to turn down at the time, and due to his past association with them, it all seemed to just well fit.

I don't really see him fitting in anywhere else like that, not even Juventus, I could see him perhaps working for the French federation with regards to the national team, but not as the head coach.

Depor fired Parralo, now Martín Lasarte is the main candidate.

Messi is playing now, first action in a soaked pitch and he already shows a little of his magic

Can't remember the last time I've seen a pitch as soaked as in this Barca-Espanyol game, the players are gonna look like prunes after the game ends

Sometimes I don't understand Valverde, down one goal and playing in a soaked pitch but with not a lot of pressure to get points would've been the first chance to see Mina with the team.

We could really use his aerial skills in both attack and defense today.

EDIT: Pique scores in Cornella , 1-1

Getting out of that Cornella shithole with a draw is fine enough for me, Madrid drew and the two other challengers are playing each other so someone will lose out.

I really wonder how do Valverde grind out results from such games. Today's game looked a nailed on loss for Barca yet they managed to equalize some how.

Some mad weather in Spain today, was a blizzard in the second half of Getafe-Leganes.

Watching the Davis Cup in Marbella and all is fine.

I was at the Barca game today - 3 things to say :

- Most of their players are real pricks and waiting always for the ref's decision to be in their favour

- Barca is 30% the team with Messi when without him

- The atmosphere in La Liga is like when watching in my living room with my wife

The game was played on a pond.

Another thing:

Espanyol are the c*ntiest team in La Liga by far and should have been seen multiple red cards. And they were calling Umtiti the n word after the match.

Maybe the rain blocked your view of that, Espanyol might be the most classless team in the world, horrific challenges and yet you have the audacity to blame barca for “waiting on the refs decision in their favour” the refs were horrible towards Barca today give me a break.

There is no rain in the VIP zone and surely the refs were pro Barca again today , especially with that red that Pique should have received for being last man standing and they even did not give a foul

You’re blind, multiple two footed tackles from Espanyol hat were dangerous as hell. They should have been down to 9 men

Nono, you're the one who is blind. After all you only got to see the moment repeated from different angles, whilst he saw it once with his own eyes...

Great point for Barca, considering their style of play doesn't work on such a crap pitch. Meanwhile, what a season Girona are having! They are 9th, only 3 points behind Seville in 6th

I didn't know that seating in the VIP zone made the rain avoid your visual field from your seat to the pich, rain takes away your sight because it's going to be between you an the players, not because you're actively getting wet.

Amazed that now the Spanish rain comes with "VIP" settings to not cover objects in the distance for important people like you. Logic would say we've seen everything better than you in our TV.

Then, there's the dig at the atmosphere, everyone that saw the game in tv or the stadium might know the stadium had a good ambient by the fans, maybe you were ordering a "Sandwich de Chorizo" in the VIP zone when they where cheering, such an inmersive way of enjoying the atmosphere.

Anyway, you have to know you're in Cornella and its not one of the most active stadiums here (to be fair, it has been improving in the last years), it's like if I went to one of the less active stadiums in the EPL and said that the whole Premier League atmosphere is like my living room on a Monday night, basically disregarding things like Liverpool there or Sevilla here

Think we gave Girona a big help today. I was watching the Liverpool/Spurs game but it appears for some reason we went to 5 at the back (that could be Sky getting it wrong of course). We were on an unbeaten run so why change the formation. We lost Laporte, so just put Martinez in his place. He brought Yeray back in, when a home game might have been a better option, but kept Nunez, who has done great so didn't deserve to be dropped. Then Saborit who has been covering for Balenziaga at LB and has done well drops to the bench and he brings in a kid I have never heard of who gives a penalty away. Also we cannot score goals. Apart from that everything is great.

Reports almost everywhere are saying Seedorf taking over Deportivo is but a done deal.

Like every decission from Depor this year this could be either very good... or extremely bad

I counted only 3 shots on target in this game: Costa's chance in the first half, Correa's goal and Griezmann's one in the end. Watching Atletico is like a torture.

Will it be the last season for Simeone? with Conte probably resigning/fired by the end of the season i can see Simeone taking the job at Chelsea.
