I think it's a matter of different criteria when it comes to judge them and promote them to international refs(european & international games). In Spain and Italy, it's the clubs that judge them, and in order to become international, refs need to officiate a number of high profile games. High profile means big teams. So if a young ref makes a bad mistake against real madrid/barcelona, they'll give him a bad evaluation and he won't get to ref other big games for a while. It's a system in which Real Madrid and Barcelona(and juve and milan in italy) have the power to make or break a ref's career.

In england, the FA has an independent commission for that. So if a ref makes a bad mistake against united, it not as bad since so long as he does a good job afterwards, he'll be given another chance a lot sooner
Interesting. I didnt know that.
I also think that there is just a general difference in culture/attitude when it comes to diving, acting and theatrics. It is simply more accepted and common in spain and latin america. Consequently refs are often unable to figure out what really happened. It is too difficult to get these decisions always right. On the other side various epl refs just refuse to give red cards or pens in certain periods of the game because "they dont want to destroy the flow of the game". They just ignore the rules because they dont like them.
Thats at least my Impression about tendecies in both leagues.

@SfcNervion
Jovetic would be a nice addition. I really rated him in the past, but i have no idea what he was doing in the last two years. He certainly would be a great fit for our system.

For me the rule of the captain talking to the referee is too strict and unrealistic in Spain/Italy and Latinoamérica.
Do you imagine Godin,Ramos or some top defender with personality not explaining his point of view to the referee? or some top striker not protesting a penalty because it's captain's duty?.
When the referees are surrounded by players they use to show some yellow card and the rest stop complaining.
I think that we need more referees like Collina, able to talk with the players being strict at the same time.
For me it's fine some diving or CB's being a bit dirty. It adds some devilry and cunning/slyness(I don't don't know the right english word, in spanish would be astucia, pillería, picaresca) to the game.
About Piqué, I don't like his silly things in the national team but I don't mind these statements about referees or when he provoked Madrid fans, it adds some debate in social media and press, exactly what he is looking for, however in this occasion I think that he is overdoing it,especially if they can beneft with some mistake during the Next games.

GOAT at what he does best. They never should have let him back on the football pitch after the second (Ivanovic) bite. He should have been given a lifetime ban back then and sent to a mental institution.

2013 - Bale over Neymar
2014 - James over Suarez

So happy it turned out like that. From purely footballing perspective, I don't think we got a better deal, but it would be really tough to cheer for the team if we had those two cnuts diving and kicking all the time instead.

You mean, it would be harder when you already have Ramos, Pepe or Cristiano doing those things, right?.

This rhetoric baffles me, I'm a Barcelona fan and I know Suarez is a cnut, Pique a clown, and Neymar, Alves, Busquets or Alba practice more dives than an olympic swimmer. I might throw a lot of "hate" towards their RM counterparts but anyone that says he wouldn't like Ramos or Ronaldo in their team because "it would be harder to cheer for for them" has to be lying. Every team has players that border the piece of sh*t mentality an we all keep rooting for them.

This is just a matter of consistency, if the RFEF showed a strong position and kept that through years the debate wouldn't be this hard.

Instead, they're all over the place. Refs can't talk to the press or acknowledge errors after a game, this would put them in a strong position to not be influencied or bended but then we have the case of some refs being frozen without games because they had a 'mare and screwed up a RM/Barça game. Then the inconsistency grows even bigger when some refs are not frozen after awful games or even get "rewarded" with more games or a final after a screw up.

And then we have the post-match decisions where they punish or forgive sanctions without a consistent basis, just by their flair. It's just logical that everytime the big 2 get screwed a couple of consecutive games while seeing their rivals get calls in their favor (which is the only consistent thing, they'll never screw both teams at the same time) they lose their mind and start a witch hunt

I for instance wanted Suárez back then before his bite in the World Cup, then after it made doubt a little as he wasn't going to play for a while but still even today I think he would be a good fit if we got rid of Benzema. Neymar is the one that annoys me the most, but like you said as long as they deliver it wouldn't be as hard to "cheer for them" as some make it appear.

Way to throw a pen Parejo, my grandma would put more effort there

Goal for Osasuna, 3-3 in the 91'

Valencia are hopeless if they can't even beat Osasuna

This has to be the game of the season - so far.

Parejo would have scored that pen if he had rome&coke in his hand:lol: One of the most overrated midfielders (Paco Alcacer level on his reputation), but righteously one of the most impopular profiles among Valencia fans.

If sporting manage to get their act together, valencia will really be screwed

Another nail in their coffin, and Pareja is just the undertaker

That was really enjoyable.

Jovetic official. Loan rest of the season with option to buy for 14 million euros. :)

They won't end up going down but I don't see things getting better anytime soon unless some big changes happen

Poor Valencia, I almost feel bad for them. What a way to throw a game in a matter of minutes and so close for the match to end, also they're fans are going to go riot.

Fecking Valencia.

They're a shambles both on and off the field.

And poor, poor Voro who's getting the job of caretaker about twice a year when he clearly hates it.

Valencia are getting what they deserve. Osasuna contributed a lot to that game and did not deserve to lose. Valencia are being run abysmally.

Celta Vigo, Real Sociedad and Villareal got relegated in the last years so it would be a surprise to see Valencia down in the end.

You mean €48,2M. Indeed quite ridiculous. Well i'm not gonna throw with stones for obvious reasons. But there were quite a lot of people - Barca fans - who thought he will be a big deal. Never understood this, so glad that we didn't go for him. Portugal players overall are not that good individually, when you check how they fare now at club level. Typical case of in-form teams players being overrated.
Ronaldo
Figo
Rui Costa
Pepe
Nani (2 seasons maybe)
Deco
....

Renato Sanches, Guerreiro, Moutinho, Andre Silva, Rafa Silva, Bernardo Silva, My Aunt Silva...

So how is your attack going to be now?

Think both Lenglet and Jovetic are signed to bring competition to the respective positions. Still believe we will see Pareja,Rami and Mercado more often as the three centre backs, and Ben Yedder will probably be the first choice up front, most of the time.
