And to think that when he arrived he promised to make Valencia competitive in only 2 years. What a fraud.

Haha yeah. I think it was his honest ambitions though, but at the same time; you don't get the impression that he is stressed over how poor his Valencia are. His reaction to the fans protest kind of says it all - he laughed it off, and thought that the fans that were protesting don't get that he owns the club, "why would I leave or fire myself?" was his reaction.

When it comes to foreign owners, La Liga teams have a bad history. There was the joke-indian in Racing Santander, who left after 2-3 games. Then, there was another joke-owner for a brief while at Getafe, and then the arabs that quickly ran out of money in Malaga (what kind of second hand arab owners was that:lol:). To be fair, Lim seemed to be the real deal, but after Mendes screwed them over, and considering how uninterested he is after all, he comes off as one of the worst.

La Liga is the best league in the world by far, it is really baffling that there are people saying the Premier League is the best in the world, FFS Spurs cannot beat Monaco and Leverkusen twice, and Arsenal cannot beat the worst PSG of the last 5 years.

Just because Real beats Granada 5-0 that does not make the Premier League the best in the world, by the way the overrated Guardiola City just trashed West Wam 5-0.

No wonder England does not win nothing at International Level, I like the Premier League and it is nice to see Pep, Mourinho, Conte or Klopp, but i doubt that in the next 5 years the Premier will be the best, and saying that Juventus should be out of Serie A, or Bayern out of Bundesliga to make those leagues more competitive?

Hey, why not eliminate those clubs and maybe the Leicesters of these life with kick and rush are the future of World Football.

Atletico scored. :( Can't see Eibar turning this around. Now the pressure is on Sevilla. We are lucky to even get 1p away vs La Real.

Every fecking post of yours shits on English football. Why join the fan forum of an English club?
I'm off to join a Guns and Roses forum and act surprised they prefer that type of music

Well if saying that i like Pep, Mourinho, Conte or Klopp is making posts against English football, i do not know what would be if i did not liked.

Just because i say the Premier is not the best does not mean it is bad, freedom of speech and thought is something that people should get used to, and I will not insult someone just because he does not like my posts.

Blah, blah, blah, such greatness, such tecnique, such flair, such galactico, such artistry.

Guess what? No one cares. They are to busy watching the PL. Like the rest of the world.

You're going to defend the league because the team you support plays in it.

But for a lot of people, La Liga is a bore.

How many different winners have you had in the last 20 years (genuine question) ?

Until tv money etc is shared equally and the likes of UEFA stop giving Real Madrid special treatment then La Liga will suffer unless you support Barcelona or Real.
5,Madrid,Barsa, Atlético,Deportivo and Valencia.
Maybe you support Premier League because your team plays in it.

Do you accept that I can have an different opinion or not?

You are entitled to say that I am wrong as I am free to say that La Liga is the best without saying the Premier League is bad, just opinions, too much sensitivity for nothing, if it keeps going like this maybe time to change the subject.

Maybe Simeone last season with Atletico, who knows, it looks he will work in Italy, if I was from Inter i would like to see him comeback as a manager.

Don't you see yourself how stupid it is to call it "baffling" that other people have a certain opinion, and then promoting your own opinion (because it's nothing else) as fact? Then i - and noone else in here - can't help you.

The term "best" is such a subjective title for any appreciation of a football league. What makes it the best? The reason the premier league keeps getting this title is because people enjoy the unpredictability of it, the speed and excitement level of the football, the breadth of talent across the entire division, and the hectic - almost self-detrimental - scheduling. La Liga is certainly superior in terms of tactical sophistication, but doesn't match up to the PL in terms of entertainment value or unpredictability. I also think it's impossible to compare like for like. The English league is more physical, both in terms of contact, explosive endurance and climate, than La Liga. Something which certainly takes its toll over the season; and unlike other European leagues, English teams get no help from the FA/PL in terms of favourable scheduling for the CL/EL.

A lot of the top European teams can rest their players at weekends before a big European tie, and still get positive results. But in England it seems like with the race for the top 4 being so tight (6 into 4), teams are more likely to play their best XI in the league and rotate for Europe. That also takes it toll. The premier league is just more internally competitive, which people enjoy. It might not always remain that way, but when this season started, there were 6 teams all with a realistic chance of winning the title (United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, City and Spurs) - and that doesn't even count the champions (Leicester). In Spain it was 3 (Real, Barca, Atletico), and Germany 2 (Bayern, Dortmund).

Each league has elements that make it the best. England: best entertainment and competition, Spain: best tactics and technique, Germany: best atmosphere and egalitarianism, Italy: best defending, Portugal: best feeder clubs and France: best croissants. Horses for courses mate.

This happens because some posters come here to talk about how rubbish is la liga. Some of them simply watch the results but without naming the other part,City won 5-0,United 4-0,Chelsea had a very long winning streak, etc.
At the end nobody writes about the matches but about this war about leagues.

First, i did not insulted anybody and it was not my intention, and if you look to some reactions after i "promoted my opinion", i do not know who needs help.

This thread is about La Liga, and as far I am concerned i will post some positive notes about Spanish Football as I can say good things about England, but the day when someone tells you that you cannot say nothing against your opinion because you are on a English Football Forum, it would be like being on a German Political Forum and saying that everything wrong with Portugal is fault of Merkel austerity policies, and then being told that i should say nothing because I am a Johnny Foreigner.

From now on I will just say my opinion, and when other guys say the rest of the European Leagues are a joke and the Premier League rules, i will say yes, yes, yes, because I am on an English forum.

Relax and do not be too much sensitive, maybe I should be more cynical and less direct, but my intention is to give an opinion and not insult. As i do not have more time to keep talking i will just say to you to look to the post after yours and I wiil say to you that I agree with the majority of everything he said.

I will try to be more "calm" on my opinions, but the level of sensitivity here is quite high. And just to say to other poster here that I never was an Guns and Roses fan, I was kind more of an Metallica Fan or Nirvana, but who cares! By the way stupid is an strong word to express an disagreement.

Bye, and lets talk about Spanish Football in these thread.

Specially in the USA, as confirmed by stats for 2016.

Dude, stop embarrassing yourself. You like EPL and that's good for you. Enjoy it and leave it at that.

Look at those numbers, more people watch the PL on a weekly basis in Norway than that, and this is a country with 5 mill people.

Only reason for La Liga being ahead in the US is that people that care about football there are mostly of Southern American origin, and they like La Liga.

Donald will soon put a stop to that, he will scramble the signal. Also I bet it isn't La Liga but Barcelona and Real that will be shown most of the time.

They don't. Guys talk of football like they talk of cars, but regular viewers around the world are nowhere near the number that you get in England. SKY deal is a confirmation of that fact.

We got viewer statistics in Norway just like they do in other countries. A significant PL match will usually give you like 500-800k viewers, while the run of the mill matches gives you like 2-300k viewers.

United - Liverpool is 800k plus.

You guys understand that La Liga is not ahead in the US, do you?! I'd check the chart once again ;)
3 times as much people watching the Prem then La Liga in the US.

Ah, ffs. I thought Liga MX was La Liga, checked further down the table and then I found La Liga.

Guess the #1 is their domestic league.

Oh well, then I change my initial point to @gaucho_10 :

More people watch the PL in Oslo, a city in Norway, than the entire La Liga in the US.

Nordic countries are not really a benchmark for the rest of the world. There's circumstances that need to be taken into equation.

I love English football culture. It's awesome, but it's English and only English.

We are talking about football, and in this case Norway, or really any European country is a better benchmark then the US. Anyway, in the US there are still way more people watching the PL then La Liga, like in the rest of the world

In every part of the world perhaps with the exception of South America the PL is the most popular. That is due to the appeal of the league.

La Liga has the best top teams, but his been built upon the detriment of your leagues appeal as a whole.

Doesn't change the fact that you've got the best players in your league and the two best teams though. Personally I can't watch it since I can't stand grown men rolling around on the floor like that, but technique wise and individual player quality wise your two top teams are the best.

I wasn't sure, that was why I made the jibe about Donald Trump putting a stop to Mexicans watching it.

Yeah, same here...this takes so much away from this league. Alongside the referees that get fooled by those dives constantly. Sometimes it's getting more of an actors contest, then a footballing one

@SwansonsTache Interesting cock measuring contest you are having. Many people also voted for Donald Trump. Majority in Britain also voted for Brexit. An opinion doesn't necessarily have to match the majority, when it comes to opinion based matters? But what's more important; how is it relevant for anyone's opinon, if there are some more viewers following a certain league, in specific countries?

Well that comes as a shock! And here we all thought you did appreciate La Liga.

Yeah; thank god, allah and buddha for god's gift to football: Premier League and the viewers of USA and Norway.

Yeah; thank god, allah and buddha for god's gift to football: Premier League and the viewers of USA and Norway. - 2

1 - I do appreciate the individual top teams and individual players of La Liga. That being said I've seriously tried to watch El Classico a few times and genuinely had to turn it off from pure disgust of the diving, card waving, play acting and childishness.

2 - No it isn't god's gift to football, but at the same time it isn't this brutish caveman league some like to describe it as. Numbers doesn't lie and if La Liga was so supreme it would be the most popular, simple as.

And no, viewers from Norway isn't representative since the PL has almost a religious following here. But the fact is that we are more representative when it comes to football interest in Europe than Spain is, you guys in Spain like your own league, the rest of Europe outside of Germany likes the PL.

Don't think he realised that La Liga MX is the Mexican league not the Spanish one. It fooled a couple of us as well.
What he should ask himself is, if football is growing in the States, why doesn't a more prominant network pick up the cheaper La Liga rights to jump aboard the hype train?
All the best players play there, the hispanic population should be all over it.
Sky has the Chinese and Dutch leagues for crying out loud.
