Messi's brilliance has masked this extremely flawed Barcelona team.

They need lots of changes in the summer.

I guess Xavi was that good.
Was already a sub that season. It's just age catching up with iniesta and mascherano, them losing and not replacing dani alves, the team as a whole probably not being as hungry/keyed in with the manager, and the trident not being quite as devastating(especially not working as hard to help the build-up from the back)

Yeah, I've never understood how they bought players like Matieu and a few others. Just not Barca quality.
Tbf, he was decent his first season and came up with two crucial goals against us and celta that ultimately won them the league

Plus he was luis enrique's only request

Real Sociedad play some nice football with that partnership of Illarramendi and Zurutuza, then Xabi Prieto drops to make a triangle and in this half they have been outplaying Barcelona in midfield.

I can see they might put 5 past us on Wed on their best day but we should equally score 2 at least, this Barca just can't keep the ball all the time. We will see, a Depor - AC Milan 4-0 around 2000 or 2001 is the perfect storm.

I'd be shocked if they even score 3.

You guys are moving through. Your defense is very good and you won't capitulate like PSG.

They will be lucky to get 2 against you. I doubt they will even win the game and if they do, maybe 1-goal win. Or two goals if Juve score and don't care if it's 2-1 or 3-1.

Depor milan was 2004

But yeah, i don't see it, especially because they already had that perfect storm against PSG. They'll win 2-1 or 3-2 is my guess

Omg, wished that would had been a red for Pique xD

You never know. If they score early, they may get into the groove. They only need to win 3-0 to balance the tie. My rational self tells me that we are unlikely to concede 3+ goals and that we will likely score as Cuadrado, Higuain and Dybala should have some fun countering their poor defense. I am still nervous as feck. We are so close, losing it now would be really frustrating.

That Yuri guy is a very good leftback, even if they lose Real Sociedad had a good game and gave Barcelona a good run for their money.

Lack of motivation. He said he moved on from Atleti because he was tired of running.

When a player says that, huge red flag. No clue why Barcelona bought him.

Wow, that's ridiculous.

Good game this. Was hoping for more crunching tackles (), but at least they made Barca work. Ref was pretty good, too.

Will be Dybala at Camp Nou? I heard that was injured

Allegri was optimistic after the match. But no definite news yet :nervous:. Hopefully, it's just a precuation. Pescara played like real thugs. I used to like them when they had Verratti, Immobile and Insigne in Serie B. Fortunately, they are going to return there.

Zeman is still :drool::drool: anyways. Verratti has to thank him for becoming so good so fast

Thanks, so hopefully he will be available.I also bet for Juve.I can't see them collapsing like PSG but won't be easy
Wouldn't make any difference, only Messi scores amazing goals at least here in the states when I'm watching tv and Messi scores a "normal" goal they scream like they are having an orgasm and then if Neymar scores an amazing goal they just say that was a good goal.
There are people who see football as a question of idols/nemesis and love to see how the legend gets bigger. With Cris happens the same(I think that someone shared here a forum dedicated to him)
I have a culé friend that is constantly sharing vídeos with Cristiano's mistakes

Barca could face two humiliating defeats in just few days. Juventus and Real are so much better than them atm.

This Barca team is lightyears away from what it was a few years ago.
Yup. They got lazy thinking MSN alone would win everything. The additions are pretty much all a drastic step down.

On the other hand, Madrid's squad impresses me big time. I mean you have players like Isco and James as backup. That's just absurd. Barcelona's midfield often doesn't have that quality in their first choice let alone the backup players. Pressurize their midfield and defence and they crumble. That they thought they didn't need a strong midfield and defence is a bit arrogant.

It just reinforces how much football is a team sport. Madrid keep winning games for fun even without their main forwards. Because as a team Zidane had got it right and Enrique has got it wrong. People love stories of players single handedly winning trophies but individuals win nothing. If that was the case, Suarez would have won Barca everything himself given how he individually almost won the title in 13/14. He didn't. He was crucial but as always a team needs to be good and cohesive to win things.

Barca's problem is down to their loyalty to their playing style. In truth, if they played more like juventus, they'd still be best in the world with the MSN murdering teams in transition and counterattacks

Juve have world class defenders and goalkeeper that Barca couldn't dream of at the moment.

Their defenders aren't that bad actually, if you drill the team to play less with the ball, defend deeper and in numbers and rely more on the transition and counter-attack their team is still the best

In fact, in a single game, they're still capable of playing at a higher level than anybody else

Tony Adams: "The squad is too foreign."
6 days later...... Names a team with 11 different nationalities.

Actually to be fair they do have about 19 different nationalies out of a 25 man squad

Lucho's plan to lure Juventus into a false sense of security by playing like shite against Sociedad is working a treat.
