La Liga - 2014/15

Barca have been okay. They seem to be in 2nd gear with the cl game coming up. That move where messi beat 3 or 4 defenders was the highlight. Neymar needs confidence right now, his form has gotten a bit flat of late.

I was just thinking about this just now
Only issue is that they are a team that like to dominate physically and he's a bit weak. He won't start every week there but would get more games than clubs like real madrid.

Should have never gone to Real, this was his opportunity to go on loan to a small team and either earn a recall or increase his transfer fee, I'm actually sad about his situation i always rated him ever since his header/shoulder/stomach/leg goal in the shield

That messi-Enrique "spat" seem to lead to a huge turn of fortunes and form for barca. They've really progressed since.

Rakitic gets a well earned rest, Xavi on.

Guess Neymar/Suárez and Piqué will be subbed off later?

messi scored 17 goals in his last 10 games

And, ironically, he's been quite average in the last month, only v City and Rayo was he really outstanding, the rest rather quiet and more about being in the right place at the right time.

If Barca win next week the league is theirs I reckon. Should be a cracker.

Celta Vigo Away to follow, and following an international break... nah too early. That is if we do win El Clasico to start with.

Barca will have a midweek CL game against City whereas RM don't. Advantage RM.

Not anything like the Burnley-City game but the scenario is very similar.

Meh. Barça got lucky with a handball call for their first goal, because they barely created anything all game (hell, the 2-0 came from a corner routine ). Meanwhile, Zabaleta was denied what looked like a quite clear penalty. Small margins.

Eibar-Barça
score: 0-2
shots: 13-12
on target: 2-4
woodwork: 1-0
possession: 30%-70%
pass accuracy: 65%-86%

Burnley-City
score: 1-0
shots: 10-21
on target: 4-5
woodwork: 0-0
possession: 30%-70%
pass accuracy: 64%-83%

Also, it's basically a miracle Eibar are even in Primera... they have the lowest budget of any team in both Primera ánd Segunda.

Rayo 3-1 Granada, they turned it around late on after conceding early. Alberto Bueno, now 7 goals in his last 3 league games, scored twice. That's 15 goals in La Liga for the season. If there's one constant with Paco Jémez' Rayo side it's that the AM/second striker will score around 15 league goals. It started off with Michu in 11/12, then old-timer Piti did even better the next, and last two seasons young señor Bueno has taken up the mantle.

edit: ha, even better, just discovered that Bueno, in only his second season there, is Rayo's all-time goalscorer in the Primera (with 26 goals).

Doesn't look like Paco Jemez will renew his contract which is a real shame. Wonder where he will go next.

Casillas dropped. Hopefully Navas is up to it and makes the spot his own :D

Ancelotti says Casillas will play in the clasico, just keeping him away from the Bernabeu for a week I guess.
