La Liga 2013-2014

This reminded of a current french reality TV participant who was seriously arguing with someone about the existence of two moons .... Needless she had big boobs and a big ass but she was really fecking stupid.
What more could you ask for? Coincidently you always find those kind of women on reality tv shows, I wonder why? :smirk:

but did Real and/or Barca have their fixtures moved before ko matches last year? I seem to remember Fergie talking about how BPL clubs should do the same

Up until this season, Spanish clubs have been playing on Saturdays right before CL KO games. It has been common in Italy/France and sometimes Germany for teams to have their games on Friday nights before CL football.

Well, there are planets with two moons, Mars for example. Other planets have dozens of moons. But I take it she was referring to earth, or got completely confused.

I'm surprised you were able to follow the argument there mate :p

Atletico are actually going to win it, aren't they? They are effectively 4 points ahead of Madrid due to superior head-to-head and actual 4 points ahead of Barcelona, and their fixture list doesn't look that tough. Aways to Levante and Valencia might be challenging but nothing they couldn't cope with.

They were 51-1 and more to win the league at the beginning of the season. Liverpool were 33-1. If both end up winning it, it's going to be a major shock of a season.
They are going to lose at Mestalla, I just know*this! hope

Still not enough for you to catch them, is it? They'll have to drop points in 2 of the remaining 4 games. It'll be interesting if Barcelona are a point or two behind you and them on the final day. They'll know that you will most likely win your final game, will they beat Atletico because of the vague chance of winning the league or do they hate you enough to sacrifice that?

Sometimes I get the impression barca enjoys Madrid suffering more than winning themselves so they will probably lose

then we need barca to do the honourable thing which will not happen . I can imagine xavi doing a gerrard like backpass to costa

And deliberately fck up his pass completion%!? Nah, he'll just hit a really hard backpass to Pinto whose first touch will make a fine assist for Diego Costa :D

True, I guess xavi giving the ball away would be too unbelievable. Pinto fcuking up is much more believable atm

Still not enough for ya...

Exactly, but if they lose that game and Barca have a chance of winning the league, I still expect them to go for the win at the Nou Camp. If their last fixture is before ours ofcourse. When do we know what times the games are played?

The top 4 qualify for the CL. Am I right in thinking that?

I think the last games are played at the same time.

Yeah, would make sense.

If Atletico drop 3 points before the last game, things are going to get very interesting. If Barca and us win all of our remaining games ofcourse.

It's inevitable. 93rd minute of the final match day - still goalless at the Camp Nou.

FT at the Bernabeu, Real Madrid players almost ready, but not quite daring, to celebrate after a comfortable win over Espanyol. Messi's signing autographs for the crowd, Busquets is having a lie down in the penalty area, playing all the Atletico players onside.

And wallop, the "Aguerrrrrroooooo!!!!!!" moment happens.
Except this time it's "Villllllaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!" who heads in off a Pinto clearance.

 Might even be a Pinto header off a Villa clearance.

You're a Valencia fan right? What are the chances of them doing Madrid a favor next week? Haven't been following Valencia lately so don't know how strong they are now, and how they play against the strong teams.

Barcelona are out of it now imo. When a team depends on two teams slipping, with no real tough games for them, and with only 4 weeks to go, then it's pretty much over for that team.

I actually can't see them beating Atletico on the last day even if it was one game for the title. They've met them 4 times already this year and couldn't beat them once!

I really hope Atletico win this, they've been my sort of secondary supporting team this year in order to make myself a little happier after watching us play.

I'm a United fan but I know what you mean

I tend to be a "my second team's wherever I happen to be living/working closest to at the time" fan.
Historically this has included various English teams and Valencia, Elche, Hercules (a blip due to working with a fan of theirs) plus some much much smaller clubs.

Valencia were awful until Christmas when they got a new manager. I won't say they're in good form, they're very inconsistent, but they're certainly capable of winning. However, they play Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday before the Sunday match. The Europa title is their only real chance of Europe and they will be throwing everything at that. I don't see the Chelsea games distracting Atletico as much as the Sevilla games will distract Valencia.

Or a more relevant Spanish alternative to last-minute title-race turnarounds,

Final matchday with Atléti having drawn at Levante earlier to bring everyone within 2pts of each other... Simultaneously in the 90th minute, a reverse-Tamudazo at the Bernábeu (even if the man himself is playing in Segunda right now) and Messi converts a pen "won" by Neymar to claim the title.

At the moment I'm not sure which is more unlikely though, Espanyol beating RM away or current Barça not dropping more points before J38

... in all seriousness I hope Simeone's men do it, because frankly they deserve it most IMO (and it could be a while before we see something similar again).

- Ah sorry I didn't mean it that way.. The caf has gone crazy lately with all this loyalty bullsh*t. I meant in La Liga you're following them more than the average fan here (and now I know why).

- I forgot about that. I guess that will be a factor as much as the CL will be for Atletico, may be even a plus for Atletico. But if they're doing better now under the new coach, I guess there is still a good chance for an upset. Should be an exciting game.

Who are Atletico playing this weekend?

Seriously?

They beat Elche 2-0 yesterday.

You call yourself a fan of Real, currently engulfed in a battle for the title with their local rivals, and you don't even know who's playing when?

Strange.

Or maybe it would be "Pintoooooo" , as in him having another blunder handling the title to Atletico :p

I think it won't go to the last game though, Barca are effectively out of the race and they won't be arsed in my opinion. Can see Bilbao getting something tomorrow as well.

 I was even posting here yesterday but forgot about their game.

Oh, and sorry for not being fan enough for you. ;)

I'm sure you're more than enough of a fan.

I just found it strange that being engulfed in a title race slips the mind so easily.

Not that I would know, this season...

Nah, you've got a point. I try to watch most of our games and maybe some important games from our rivals but that's about it. I'm not that fanatic about football as when I was younger. I even have to log onto the caf to see jojo's post in this thread at the start of the weekend to see who our opponent is.

I'm not ashamed to admit that. Well, maybe a bit.

 I can imagine the Barcelona players then running over and celebrating with the atletico players. The barcelona fans will also probably be celebrating with the atletico fans. A big loud stadium full of people celebrating that Madrid didn't win

If Atletico win their next 3 games, Barcelona will have to do the guard of honour thing for them. At the Camp Nou. How awkward that would be?

Villa will be their Van Persie.
