La Liga - 2012/2013

two yellows for that?

i think is too much
Most refs wouldnt send someone off that that.
but..
Stopping someone from taking a quick freekick is a yellow.. No problem. Ref showed him the yellow.. he stood there smiling. The ref moved away.. he still stood there.

Again. most refs wouldve waited a couple of seconds.. but Di Maria was pushing his luck... probably thinking no ref would give him 2 yellows that quickly..

OK so now we have
Valdés, Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Montoya, Song, Thiago, Iniesta, Alexis, Messi y Villa

Vs

Beto, Coke, Fazio, Botía, Navarro, Maduro, Medel, Navas, Rakitic, Man Utd y Babá.

I think that's three or four rested in each team.

Iniesta really lacks that killer instinct when it comes to finishing

He's a goal every now and again sort of player - he just picks the right games for it. Lulls everyone into a false sense of security then

yes, and if they start with hated player like de maria, better

had this happened to vidic we would be fuming

... and, almost all referees appear to give cards out readily to younger/lesser light players, especially in the bigger games as it easier for them to send a message without necessarily pissing off the stars.

A lot of them really are total worms.

It's almost impossible to imagine it happening in the PL. If it did VdS would have been sent off after every penalty call, and Scholes would have picked up a few doubles as well.

In fact a lot of yellows in the PL get followed up with enough dissent that another yellow is due - not often given though, even in Spain unless someone says something offensive to the ref. But it was funny seeing it happen to Di Maria a week after seeing Ramos get two (unrelated) yellow cards in a minute last week.

They're really hacking in on Messi... second time they tackle him with 2 players at the same time lol

Iniesta waited far too long with his pass to Messi there. Great skill in his next move though.

Barca have been absolutely woeful and so has Messi. They really need to find other routes of scoring goals other than him.

This makes it 11 games without a clean sheet. That's woeful for a team that's so far ahead at the top of the table!

Well we didn't do much better through long parts of the season.

The thing is you can get away with it in the league if your offense is good enough but in the CL not being able to keep a clean sheet will hurt you sooner or later.

With two clasicos and Milan matches, this is the shittest time of the season to lose form !!!
