got third place in a Juan Mata lookalike contest
But it just takes all the fun out of it. You're being told where everything is.
I'm going to rent it. Read in that review they didn't cut out the music jingling when you're near a clue which is disappointing.
I see. Good point. Is that Blink game any good by the way?
I still can't decide whether to buy this or not.
I reckon this might be in the stores already here if you got them sent to you. I will check it out later, I managed to finish my 80-page essay to complete the semester yesterday so I have plenty of times on my hands until July at least.![]()
wouldnt be too hopeful, usually if they break early in stores it is the night before release day, always a better chance of it arriving a day early on a preorder
Games are usually in stores two or three days before the official release date here, especially in the big chain stores with games. I fully expect it to have it earlier than Friday.
Indeed this is true. I worked in Smyths Toys gaming section as a student. We had Fifa 09 in stock about 2 days before it's release for example, I had mark the reserved copy ones with stickers! It was the same with Gears of War 2.
For the most part I agree with you - expected a lot more from this game. Not at all like GTA or other sandbox games where you could do a lot of missions in the order you choose but very linear where there's never a time that you're not on a storyline mission.I wouldn't recommend many people to purchase this game. I find it thoroughly disappointing if I am being honest. There are story cases and side missions (per se) and these side missions pop up in the middle of each story cases. I don't like this as it ends up being very distracting and it interrupts the flow of each case. Imagine the scenario where you are on the way to a murder or interviewing a suspect, next thing you know BAM, you have a call to catch a couple of robbers. And most of the side missions can be ended up just shooting the bad guys in the head. I have not tried any other method as this method works for me and counts to the completion of these side story missions.
While there are many main story missions, I find myself bored after getting promoted the second time. Go here -> pick up stuff -> interview -> pick up more stuff -> interview more -> shoot people/chase people -> end. Open world is okay I guess but I don't see much point of having an open world system when all you have got to do is drive from A to B while prompting side missions on the way. It just feels incredibly linear.
I expected more from LA Noire. It's a good game but I can't help feeling that it's CSI: Fatal Conspiracy meeting Mafia II (with better production values).
7/10 - I'm only buying this as I have no other game I see myself playing until Uncharted 3.
Dont think I can be arsed with this Rockstar game. Looks nothing compared to Red Dead which was simply one of the top 20 games ever.
Those stickers mean shit all when the store is packed. I reserved a copy of San Andreas from Game years ago, and when I went in to pick it up I was told it was sold and there was none left. So despite having pre-ordered it I had to wait for new copies to come in. Wankers the lot of em
This is a Team Bondi game published by Rockstar primarily, it obviously still has the Rockstar feel though.

Why is that though? It's still a sandbox game which looks to have a well developed plot and great attention to detail and general atmosphere. Sounds like a typical Rockstar game to me. Is it because you're on the other side (not a criminal) compared to other Rockstar games? I can see how it might seem a little less exciting having to solve crimes rather than commit them.
Personally I'm a big fan of hardboiled fiction/noir films, so this game really appeals to me. Much like Red Dead appealed to my fascination of Westerns.
