Are you telling me I can't deduce who was the better player based on number of goals scored?!?

I don't watch an awful lot of mbappe except for highlights -
How is he on the left? I ask that because we obviously went through a period where right footed wide players play on the left to get them to use their stronger foot.
Would he become better at doing that or is it better that he is on the RW playing as a player that is truly rare in that position?
No doubt. The overshadowing is more in terms of what he achieved with his country at his age so more people are talking about him for now, him getting the #7 shirt at PSG so on a marketing front PSG had been pushing that for a while as well as getting more votes in the player awards but that is natural with what went on at the World Cup. They're all short term things and with regards to the marketing thing Neymar is back front and centre on PSG's twitter header. Is Mbappe really starting to overshadow him? Neymar is still comfortably the better footballer IMO in terms of overall game, i although i haven't watched the last few PSG matches.

Ah fair enough. I'm generally not as interested in comparing glory/achievements as much as peformances and excellence. But I can understand your point. I don't think the WC helped Neymar. The world's view of Neymar took a big hit ar the tournament. No doubt. They've both scored eight goals in the league this season but with Mbappe being suspended for three games, he's scored his in nearly half the time.
Kylian Mbappe 2018/19
League: 8 goals, 3 assists in 404 minutes
Champions League: 2 goals, 1 assist in 166 minutes
Total: 10 goals, 4 assists in 570 minutes
Neymar 2018/19
League: 8 goals, 3 assists in 712 minutes
Champions League: 3 goals, 1 assist in 172 minutes
Total: 11 goals, 4 assists in 884 minutes
and three of Neymar's goals were penalties. Neymar's record is very good but Mbappe is already starting to overshadow him.
Here's a Bulgarian rap on Mbappe (from r/soccer).
What is wrong with the comments here?what is with the comments here seriously, the boy is 19 playing every week in a good league, plays CL football, plays with amazingly players, sure he was even born in Paris so might even been who he supported as a boy, got the world at his feet, apart from the Brazilian Ronaldo he is the best teenager I have seen, performed better at the WC then Messi or Ronaldo ever has, so the french league clearly ain't hindering him, he got plenty time to pick his next move which would guess would be Barca or Real.

The 'performed better in the WC than Messi or Ronaldo' comment is a bit of a pointless one. Had they played for a team like France they would have easily dwarfed his 2018 WC efforts.
They couldn't cough up the necessary dough and they couldn't guarantee him playing as a starter from the go. Kylian wanted to be a starter before anything elseI don't understand why RM didn't snap him up when they had the chance.

In terms of stats maybe but in terms of overall influence, Neymar is still their best and most important player.

Can you not comprehend or something? They've never played for such great sides. Their teams have mostly been average or dysfunctional. Maybe try to comprehend before you make comments.Take it you cant read or something ? he has performed better at this WC then Messi or Ronaldo have ever performed at a WC, so no it wasn't pointless comment, Messi has played in Argentina teams that have been good over the years, Ronaldo played in the same Portugal team who won the Euro's last time so it aint like there teams have been poor. maybe try read what people say before you make comments.
I think you need to read what I posted again I said Neymar is still currently better than himDisagree. IMO it is comparable to Ronaldo/Messi in the Guardiola era, just still a level below that. Mbappe is incredible but Neymar is just more involved (dribbling, passing, one twos, ...) than Mbappe overall while still matching his output. Not to say that Mbappe doesn't create much himself by beating his defenders (just like CR7 back then btw) but he's just not as good at it as Neymar if you ask me.
A clear sign for that is that Tuchel plays him on RW and not on the left or even as a 10 btw. Currently Mbappe still relies too heavily on his speed to play through the center.
I have no doubt that with time, Mbappe will develop to a great level other facets (passing and general playmaking) because you can already see the improvements months after months. It's good for him to all the burden isn't on his shoulders yetYep, I was at the stadium for their match vs Belgrade and it was clear that everything was going through him. Not only did he score but he also set up a high number of chances for Mbappe/Cavani. Mbappe was just finisher and waiting on Neymar to deliver the defense breaking pass.
Not to say Mbappe is bad, but Neymar is still above him in terms of overall play. The fact that Neymar is able to match Mbappe eventhough having the play all across the pitch, coming deep as well, is a statement in itself.

They really don't have the best frontline. Liverpools front line is better than theirs and suddenly my mouth turned sour .I'm envy of PSG that they have both Neymar and Mbappe. They have the best forward line in the world by far.

They own that farmers league. All these stats wouldn't be as impressive if they played here.
They are forever stat padding in a league fool of substitute teachers. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here.

I like mbape but I think he is very overrated. You saying he is a top 5 forward already proves that. Neymar is a top 5 forward so on that we can agree on that. This is based on nothing more than 3-4 CL games. Neymar and Mbappe are arguably in the top 5 forwards in the world and Cavani is no worse than Firmino. Salah had an exceptional season but let's see whether he can repeat it. I'd take Mbappe over Salah any day of the week though.
Let’s also not forget that the Ligue 1 is a farmers league. If Memphis depay can excel there it’s not very hard for any forward too.
Total: Mbappe 67
Messi 20
Good start...
I don't know about that.the France side was hardly great, not anywhere near the 98/00 france team or the spain squad which dominated. don't need to comprehend anything.
PSG arent idiots.would swap him for De Gea if PSG is willing to do a deal.
Comparing him to Messi is disingenuous though, given he didn’t play as a striker until Guardiola. Not saying that Mbappé isn’t a special player, but stats rarely tell the whole story
