Too soon to compare his talent with Zidane and others.
Bernabéu will treat him well.
I kind of doubt that. The fans are not really known for love and care. He ll need a good mentor to handle the pressures, especially if fans feel he is not the awesome, best of the best they thought he was.

After Bale was singed too early, Florentino thinks Mbappe can be the player to take over from Ronaldo on and of the pitch.

People will say it's too much money but if it works out, 5 years from now we will be reading the same comments we're reading now about Ronaldo moving from United to Madrid.

If it doesn't work out, people will laugh, he'll be sold for peanuts and life will go on. This is not some third level club putting all of it's eggs in one basket hoping for a miracle. It's Real Madrid. We'll take a hit financially and move on to next targets.

I dont think you get it though - if this happens you are eventually going to completely destroy the market for yourselves for many years. What happens when the next big prospect comes along in the next year or two, the market (created by this signing) would mean that the next wonder kid goes for £200 million +, the one after that - £250 million+. You may be able to take the hit now but signings like this have the potential to destroy the transfer market and do nothing for the game.

He's had what one good season? Isn't it a big risk to pay that much? Imagine he flops :D

I can't for the life of me understand City going for him with their current squad, what's the bloody point. Pointless, they'd have to sell surely, just to make room.

Perez is not really known for thinking such stuff.

Real Madrid destroying the market?

It is a lot of money, but it is almost inevitable to pay that amount. First because the market says so. Mbappé is the jewel of the market, and if we sold our substitute for 80, it seems understandable the Monaco prices.
He played a season, but winning the league in France, playing really well in the Champions and showing qualities not usual for his age.
As someone wrote here Madrid needed him because of status. He is the most promising player of the last few years and competition in that regard required paying whatever was required(assuming that the deal is done).
Three years ago Madrid already wanted to sign, and several elite teams are willing to pay those amounts, so I imagine that the technical secretaries or scouts agree that he is worth it.

do you think that someone will leave(Bale or Karim?)

Ronaldo would be even more then in today's money. He was fully proven on a world stage not to be a flash in the pan. A relatively unproven player costing that could make transfer prices even scarier than it first seems

Yeah shit at 19/20. Hope he comes to United now just to annoy you

I see your point but it's really important to remember that people, particularly on the caf overrated him to extreme levels. Sanchez isn't more talented than around a dozen of other midfielders in the same age class, he isn't far worse than them but he isn't better either.

El Confidencial writes that Mbappé is pressing Monaco to complete the transfer to Madrid, especially after his last conversation with Zidane. According to them it would be close for 150m€ and the extras would be for playing the World Cup in Russia, be top scorer and every trophy with Madrid or France.
Although Madrid follows Berardi, Dolberg and Werner they leaked the names to the press to try to decrease the price.

If they buy him, will they sell Bale to compensate? Danilo + Morata + Bale would basically be Mmm Bop's fee.

Also, can't see the Welsh wizard being happy playing second fiddle.
Wouldn't Mbappe not just fill in for the space Morata left at Madrid?

Literally everybody's 'pressing' their clubs 'after speaking to Zidane' just to end up at some other club/stay at their current club.

Welsh monkey has been doing that ever since he got to RM.

Real Madrid destroying the market?

Real Madrid are the reason transfers are so hiked now it all started with Figo for £51 in 2000, then Zidane £62 million in 2001, then again in 2009 with £80 million for Ronaldo and then again in 2013 with £86 million for Bale.

You guys ruined football you're the sole reason the likes of United, City and PSG have to pay ridiculous fees now.

Then it's safe to say we have a 100m pound striker Rashford already in our team.

He's had what one good season? Isn't it a big risk to pay that much? Imagine he flops :D

I'd rather he fully flop into obscurity because if he "flops" to the James and/or Morata levels, then he might be available for a cut price of say £120 mil, which is not what I'd like someone like United pay for him :D

Why doesn't Perez just buy Neymar like he did Figo all those years ago?

I mean flat out flops.

Real Madrid destroying the market?

Hahaha funny that you bring up these numbers now, because real Madrid were spending insane amounts of money since the Perez reelection before the inflation hit with Ronaldo kaka modric benzema ozil Dimaria Alonso bale and so on. They started the earliest and rebuilt before inflation.

Which contributed to inflation itself.
