You think he's worth over 100 million? Why?

Well for me personally I do not care much about transfer fees. At this point 100 million is not big deal for clubs like United, City or Real. So whatever the fee ends up to be does not matter much. But, I think Mbappe is a special, special talent and the top clubs should do whatever they can to sign him.

I think him and RashFord upfront would scare the crap out CB's even in a traditional 442.

I just think people on here a far overeating him. If we do get him, which I actually wouldn't mind because to me he's composure infront of goal is Trezeguet esq... I hope fans like you stick with him and not look for the next bright spark when he has a Martial like patch. Which he will have.

100m for an 18 year old is crazy. No club should spend that kind of money but I wouldnt be surprised if he moves on this summer.

Absolutely not. Two 18-19 boys leading our attacking line? We don't want to fight for the 6th position again, right?

It's the same scenario with Pogba really. Was he worth 89m? possibly not. But he's worth that to us to improve the squad. He's our best player by miles and without paying the money we would be stuck with average players.

Yes it's a high risk but what's the point of having lots of money if you can't spend it? he's already at a high standard, but if he goes on to continue that and score 30/40 goals a season for us, the money looks cheap.

People thought Madrid were crazy to spend 80m on Cristiano but he's proved it's nothing since.

What has this guy previously said for everyone to say he love Real Madrid?

A old picture of him with Cristiano and another old picture of his bedroom that had Cristiano posters on the wall.
Found them.

I suppose if you lot want him then, he's yours.
Yesterday Inda(a journalist) said that PSG have options since for him it's important to be near the family in his next destination
,or Madrid buying him but staying in Mónaco another year.

This kid is such a talent that we have to try everything to get him, we did it in the past with Ronaldo and Rooney and bought them at a high price because it was clear they had exceptional talent. There´s another big young talent at Dortmund called Dembele and Barcelona are looking at him, we should go for him also as he will be a very good player.

He should follow Ronaldo's footsteps by joining us and go to Madrid in 5 years time for a world record fee.

I think that Monaco and any other team buying him for this money should be careful. I'm not doubting his physical ability one bit but the mental pressure of such a fee could bring.

If I were Mbappe's family, I'd make sure he'd get a new contract and stay at least a year at Monaco. Real Madrid would be one of the worst places for a youngster to go to, for such a fee. Their fans would boo him just for a miss controlling the ball (slight exaggeration).

Most stars in the Ligue 1 translate well in all other leagues, Mbappe would have no issue in the Premier League. He comes much better prepared than Martial and Martial was a handful in the league most games last season.

As you say most, I'm not saying he wont be a success but I'm not as confident as you that he will be one. If we buy him for more than we did Pogba the pressure on him will be immense, from the media aswell as the fans. Can a kid at his age handle it? Maybe but I don't know for sure, I would love us to sign him but just imagine the stick he will get when he hits a dry patch and he will, all strikers do. I look at some post here and dear me the stick some players get and thats from their own fans, just imagine the the media that want us to fail.

Regardless of what anybody says, it is FAR too early for a club to be spending that kind of money on him. I'm sure after last year people would have been valuing Martial at a similar fee and look how he's turned out. Far too risky.

He just handled the pressure of a title race and the KO stages of the CL.

Wenger, 130 million?

Well he has been saving for over a decade.

Even if they are ready to pay that much why would he go to Arsenal? They aren't in the CL, 2 of their best players will leave, Wenger will be there for 2 years. Nobody knows what will happen when Wenger leaves, they could struggle to finish in the top 4 after he leaves like we struggled after SAF left. I don't see why someone would join Arsenal when there are teams like Real and us who are ready to buy him.

There is no pressure when you are an underdog. The people here will start crying when he doesn't play to their expectations and say that we should sell him if we sign him. Will he be able to handle the pressure of being the most expensive signing ever?

Why not?

I expressed myself badly. I meant when things don't go his way. Will he handle it then. He will hit bad form sooner or later, the press and some fans will have a frenzy. Depay failed miserably , Martial we have to wait and see if he can come back to last years form. I'm in no way bashing his talent just saying I'm not as confident as some are that he will be a success especially with that price tag.

Honestly I really don't think players care about how much they cost. It's all spiralled out of control now anyway, it's not like it's a huge shock or pressure like it used to be.

Depay failed because he was slow mentally and accelerated slowly. Martial has all the ability in the world but he needs to get his attitude together.

It's actually not at all.

If scouts at all the major clubs think he has the potential to become, say, Henry-level, then it makes perfect sense.

Can you imagine what an 18 year old Henry would be worth in this day and age? Or in five years when he is 23 and fees have continued to appreciate?

Regardless of what anybody says, it is FAR too early for a club to be spending that kind of money on him. I'm sure after last year people would have been valuing Martial at a similar fee and look how he's turned out. Far too risky.

Business risk. An investment that could potentiallly pay off massively... or not. That's why it's 100 million not 200.

I think people are also failing to acknowledge
that it's unlike anyone is paying 100 million for him.

It's more like 60 plus 40+ in performance clauses.

AS isn't reliable right? They claim RM offered 135m euros after we apparently offered 130m euros.

The scouts can't predict the future. 100 million is too risky for an 18 year old who had one good season.

I think when you look at the teams bidding, and what bids they are putting in, you have to say that this kid must have it.

If he succeeds, they'll be happy they've taken the risk. If he fails, they can still sell him on at 21 years old for half the price. For a club like Real Madrid, this isn't a high risk deal to be brutally honest.

I can almost here Wenger saying in 2022 when he finally retires: "I wish I had paid those £20m extra for Mbappe back in the day".

How come everyone is bidding 100m+ for him then?

You seriously believe the rumors? Which teams have bid for him? Us, Real and Arsenal? I don't see Jose or Wenger paying that much for an 18 year old, especially Jose.

We also have other key positions also to fill. Jose will not spend 130 million or more on a teenager.

Mbappé is a weird player because he has always been extremely highly rated since he is 6, 7 years old, clubs competed for his signature when he was 13, he chose Monaco, "disappeared" while playing very well for Monaco and then seamlessly adapted to professional football. And last summer Monaco rejected big offers for him(+40m€).

So people probably need to take into account that he is currently doing what scouts expected him to do, he is not surprising anyone.
