If RM go in hard for Mbappe that means that Aubemang is up for grabs soonish. Wouldn't be a bad alternative.

He also has bundles of the footie forums favourite, pace.

haha Marca do make me laugh. They say he's chosen them like it's fact, but then go onto say "it's because he likes Zidane"

Pogba chose them for the same reason.:wenger:
Exactly. How many times have Marca said *insert player name* has chosen Madrid!"

They did the same trick with Gomes and he signed for Barca the next day

I just can't see why he would choose to go there at this stage of his career. It's pretty clear Benzema is still a good player, and CR7 will move to be a central striker eventually once his legs slow down. Mbappe is the shiny toy they might fancy, but let's see if they really want to go 100m+ euros.

You think he'd chose United if Madrid offered him the same wages?

That explanation is ridiculous. Like RM wouldn't offer one of the brightest CM talents around 275k\week. You are not exactly known for underpaying.

Has he been crying on the phone to Perez yet?
I can't wait to read why the club that signs him only signed him because Madrid changed their mind / not worth the wages.
In no way is it because they couldn't offload Morata or James to finance the deal...

He's obviously going to be very good, but I just don't get the logic of breaking the bank on a teenager who would almost certainly rather be at Real Madrid.

I actually think I want Silva more. He's expressed more an interest in playing in England too which aligns well with my preference.

Still I wonder if Madrid will be more aggressive to get this one after missing out on Pogba. We can probably match them in the market, but I suppose if he wants Madrid then there's only so much we can do. On the other hand it's still a lot of money to pay for a kid if the rumored figures are correct. I genuinely think the best situation for all parties right now is for him to stay at Monaco for the next season. Let's see if Madrid or ourselves make the first move.

I pray to God he just stays for one or more seasons as I think its unpresedented for a player to move straight after his 1st full season, especially straight into the fire of a big club and for a ridiculous fee. I say good luck to whoever takes that chance to be fair. They are serious gamblers. People have no patience nowadays. Neymar had to rack up 100 goals before everyone bid for him.

If Mourinho is really that impressed Woodward could try get his signature and if the kid will go full Ronnie just put modest 150m price tag. I'm sure almighty Madrid can afford.

On a second thought that kind of money could get you both B.Silva & O.Dembele so United will definitely cope whatever life will throw.

Can't blame him if he goes to real, he'll get to trainalongside his idol every day. That's worth more to some people

Him going to Real just makes a lot of sense

- He's a Ronaldo fan
- Zidane is french
- After missing out on Neymar/Pogba, Perez needs to get the next big thing
- Real spent almost no money last summer, so they'll have plenty to spend
- Benzema hasn't been good enough this season
- Ronaldo's 32 and they'll want a successor who will be ready by the time Ronaldo's gone
- Their only competition is United who already have Rashford

Good points. His Ronaldo obsession coupled with the fact that Zidane happens to be the manager will be more than enough for him to go to Madrid.

Yeah, it's only between us and Real if we want him.

He'll probably stay though.

Good points. Tbf if Real do get him and Benzema is sidelined then I wouldn't mind us going in for Karim to supplement Rashford and Martial.

I think his preference for Madrid has been exaggerated; in any case it seems that the presence of Zidane, Cristiano + his previous experience training in Madrid when he was 14 can give us some extra points if we have to bid with other teams.
Sincerely, I would prefer if he stays one more year in Monaco, however his moment is now, so it seems inevitable that he will leave this summer.
His numbers are fantastic. I don´t think many elite strikers have managed to do that in their first season, not only in the league but in the Champions League.
If Higuaín cost 90 million € with his age, then it is reasonable that Mbappe is above 100. It is a risk, but if we do not take it some other team will.
One of the reasons given by Marca´s article to put aside Hazard or Dybala is the risk of slowing the progression of Asensio, which seems very reasonable.
Madrid have to be careful with the money but I think they can afford to pay 100/125 million, even without selling James or Morata.

Young strikers like Mbappe historically do not go to RM at a young age. Ok, there has to be exceptions but i don't think Madrid spend this kind of money on young strikers. Can anyone chime in with facts? I don't see much game time for Mbappe at Madrid at all. Does he really want to go there now, or follow Ronaldo's path and come here for 5-6 years first.

They signed Anelka for big money when he was 20, Robinho when he was 21, and Benzema when he was 21, so they haven't been averse to spending big money on emerging players down the years.

Those players i completely forgot about, and with good reason(besides Benzema) as they were all shite! :D

But I'm a muppet and I want him.:(

Isn't he on record saying he's not ready for Madrid. An official interest should change his mind though.
