You guys seriously think he'd stay at Monaco out of the goodness of his heart when he'd be able to go to a much bigger and more prestigious club, play in front of 80 000 people every other week, get a tenfold pay bump and a portion of his transfer fee just because you think it's sensible? Not to forget he knows that his career could be over within a matter of seconds due to an unfortunate tackle.

This is why there's winners and losers in life. Sometimes, people bring it on themselves.

Seriously WTF?! Are you for real? Mbappe will cost £60 million at least. Arsenal have never paid that sort of money for a player before. So no they can't afford it.

They are higher than Chelsea in the last delotte rich clubs .. Just because Wenger is reluctant to sign big doesn't mean they can't

Arsenal are easily one of the richest clubs in the world . They can afford who they want

£60m? He won't go for anything less than £80m.

If I had to guess it will be something like £50m up front with £30m staggered and an additional £30m if targets are met.

Martial was £36m rising to £58m with relatively little hype. This guy is known the world over already and has taken the Champions League by storm. Mbappe is still a year younger than Martial back then and has already achieved more.

They surely can , but will they?

That's the question .I would doubt it any other year but missing out on the top for might change things for them ..To get what they will want they will have throw money around and they have lots of it to do so .. Do people even know who owns them . They are totally minted and their revenue each year is not to be sniffed at .

They can easily be outbid by us, Chelsea, Madrid, PSG and probably more clubs so in the end it doesn't matter whether they hypothetically can, when they won't, and even if they will, they won't win the bidding war.

Arsenal could go all in, and bid the same amount of money as other clubs. They payed very little money on players recently, they surely have quite a big chunk to spend if they want to, their turnover is higher then Chelsea's, almost the same as PSG with their fake sponsors, a lot higher then Juventus for example, who just bought Higuain for nearly 100m. Question is rather if he wants to go there, i doubt it

I agree with @Isd here. Arsenal can afford any player, they have decided not to spend like that this far. However, it is for this reason that I have doubts they would. If they throw a whole load at Mbappé, they would need to throw a load at the likes of Ozil/Sanchez and whoever else in their squad. They must be prepared to move into a whole new era, not just dip their toe into it for one player.

They refuse to give of the best players in the league a decent contract, for wage structure reasons or whatnot. Do you really see them being able to spend 80 mln pounds upwards + wages on a 18 year old striker from Monaco?

Of course they are able to. A few people in the club chose the current low-spending course, that doesn't mean that it has to stand for eternity. It becomes quite obvious currently, that they can't keep on like this without losing stature. But i think they won't do it, current personal is way to conservative.

They're struggling to keep Ozil and Sanchez because of their wage demands. Wenger is reluctant because they can't afford to spend that much on players. They can't just buy players for £60 million plus like ourselves and a few other clubs can.

Eh you do know I said at least £60 million?! That means he could go for anything above £60 million.

Yeah it includes £60m to £79,999,999.99. I'm saying it will be £80m minimum.

Who knows maybay Wenger won't be a factor anymore after this season.

If Sanchez and Ozil would go it would surely open some financial room to bring another big player in. Arsenal is a rich club, especially as they don't spend much every year, it stands to reason they have some warchest in reserve. Maybay Arsenal not qualifying for the CL for the first time in like forever could change what they do in summer.

If they think Mbappe could be their new Henry, then who knows maybay they will go crazy about signing him, however he must still want to come, surely he will be getting offers from all sorts of big clubs.

If I had to put money down, I'd say Arsenal will be one of the strongest linked clubs but in the end Mbappe will stay at Monaco for another year.

Crazy money for a player with just a single season of senior football. It's an enormous premium just for FOMO.

I genuinely hope he stays at Monaco for at least another year. Don't go rot on the bench somewhere.

And we're the LAST club that he should be going to if we're honest. United need next season to be a massive progression from this season. We're not in a position to bed in and nurture a kid in a new league who's in his second season. Especially when his strike partner would barely be older than him.

If in 2 seasons time he has maintained his level and we're back in the big time, great, let's talk about world record fees. But doing so now is insanity.

They can easily ..seriously wtf

But why would he join Arsenal? They are even out of the CL next season. Arsene may be sacked, Sanchez will leave, even Ozil might leave. Why would any player want to join Arsenal?

We already have 2 youngsters who have the talent, why do we need another 18 year old who has done well in just 1 season? 100 million will be too much pressure on him. Why would anyone sign an 18 year old when they can get Griezmann?

They only thing Arsenal are getting this summer is another spanking by a big European club in some friendly. Never mind Mbappe, he's off to Madrid.

why would any player want to join us?.. Players take the best offer financially

‘I’ve done nothing extraordinary,’ he told Repubblica. ‘Scoring 60 goals would be extraordinary, but managing 14 in Ligue 1 is not Mbappe.
At least he has a good head on his shoulders and realises there is much much more for him to achieve before being talked of one of the greats

Anyone who thinks Arsenal is a serious option for Mbappe is completely deluded.
The bidding will start at £80m and probably hit nearer £100m by the end (if he does move). On top of that a weekly salary of at least £200k. And no CL football for him either in a world cup year.
Arsenal's best player almost certain to leave. Money wise, they can probably just about afford it (assuming they get £40-50m for Sanchez), even when you take into account the number of existing players who will get higher salaries as a result, but as a club at the moment, they are in complete disarray.

The longer his form goes on the more unattainable he becomes for any English club.

Bollocks. No matter how well he keeps playing, the top English clubs can all outbid any of the continental clubs, and/or offer him more wages as well. After that, it's all down to Mbappe's personal choice. If he still chooses a non-English club, then it doesn't matter how long his form has gone on for; the English clubs never had a chance in the first place.

Is there a premier league club which pays it's players more than Real Madrid? Offers the chance to win every single trophy season in season out?

I still can't tell if he's good or not. Has a couple of great qualities and scores for fun but Monaco might be gambling on this one. His stock might already be at the highest it'll ever be.

United and arguably City. Chelsea have the financial might too, with the backing of Roman.

Seriously? What more could you want in a striker :wenger:

Height and physical strength. I know I am a dinosaur.

You are not really a dinosaur since those characteristics weren't particularly rated in the past. Close minded would be a more accurate term since you are seemingly focusing on English football culture.
