You are not really a dinosaur since those characteristics weren't particularly rated in the past. Close minded would be a more accurate term since you are seemingly focusing on English football culture.

Yes, thanks for correcting me, closed minded would be the right term to use. When deciding on a player who is young and would fetch top dollar, I tend to care a lot more about physical attributes because there's just not enough sample set to judge their skill. He's been phenomenal this season and if he repeats this for 2 more, you'll find me singing his praise and rightly so.

United and arguably City. Chelsea have the financial might too, with the backing of Roman.

When it comes to what clubs pay their best players, Real are on a different level to us, City etc. Its a moot point though, regardless of the transfer sum, Mbappe isnt going to move at a wage which is unaffordable to us, City or Chelsea.

What the .. 85m in a 18 years old player and it's even rejected ? My head is spinning hard now. :wenger:

Fabinho and Mbappe would be unreal.

Don't care remotely about the price tag. It'd be staggered anyway and it's not like we can't afford it. I'd rather splash on Mbappe than Griezmann.

No one. We'll have our pants pulled down again.
For this kid they can pull our pants down and stick a finger up our asses for all I care. He's a future ballon dor winner.

We made the error of waiting for dybala when it was clear he was a star, we need to move quickly for this kid also.

Ludicrous money for someone with so few games under their belt. Would be a hell of a gamble.

original article-
Absolute protagonist in this (first) season will almost certainly be on the market as well: for Kylian Mbappé start the first moves of the great Europe, first of all Manchester United. José Mourinho's team has in fact offered 85 million euros: rejected. Monaco asks between 120 and 140, a monstre figure that demonstrates the will to keep it at least another year. The young '98 class is attracted by Real Madrid, but unlike the British it is not convinient and has not yet moved in a concrete way.

Not only the attack, however, the Red Devils want to intervene also in midfield. A couple of months ago a survey was made for Radja Nainggolan, however the contacts did not go further because the Roma midfielder would want to remain in the capital. Meanwhile, United, for that role, has put on top of the list also Fabinho (always Monaco) and Toni Kroos.

Cadena Cope broke the story over a month ago. So it seems like it was indeed true.

I wonder if we should read anything into there being no mention of Griezmann by Di Marzio?

Madness. Unless he's as good as Rooney was at that age. Which I doubt

Madness seems too low for describing such a thing. Hell my head is still spinning for reading such a price for a 18 years old kid who performed for only one season.

Insane.

I don't see how we'd sign anyone (or any player would agree to anything) before we know our Champion's League fate. Personally think he should stay in France for another year or two. A big move jeopardizes his spot in the World Cup and could deter his development.

Rooney was maybe a better rounded player at that stage but mbappe is the better striker already, just look at his goal record.

Imagine if mbappe knocks out Juve?
This "NO" according to di marzio is because Monaco want to keep the player for one more season.
Should we offer martial in exchange?(Ducks for cover)

The french seem to think di marzio is being naughty. It could be true!

Is Mbappe that much better than say Martial last season? I don't really get the hype
Yes, he's already one of the best players in the world. It's like the Rooney signing, this can only end positively for us. At worst, he'll be a world class player for us for a long time, at best, we'll have a multiple ballon d'or winner at the club.
