Klopp Confirmed Liverpool Manager

Tbf though he's not wrong, Klopp will need time and lots of new players.
The man is good but he's not a miracle worker.
Enjoy it while it lasts, the reality will kick in soon enough.
I'd say that over the past few seasons my beloved Liverpool has become a 2nd tier club due to key players seeing us as a stepping stone to bigger & better things. Add to that the loss of Carragher & Gerrard, 2 players who came through the ranks & helped carry the side more than they should have done. So for us to be able to attract a 'top tier' manager like Klopp is pretty incredible. The only way I feel he'll succeed is if he's able to bring in, & keep, a few top class players. He struggled to do it at Dortmund, but I'm hoping his name, reputation, & passion, can reverse that trend at Liverpool.
FFSThat's what annoys me really, not the fact that he's a good manager, it's the fact that he's so likable.
The only way you'll get the 'top tier' players is by paying the fee (not such an issue maybe), and paying the wages (more of a problem) , even then you'll obviously have to compete with the richer clubs for these type of players.
I personally think he has been taken on to get more from the players you have, whether he has taken the challenge to prove he can turn water into wine, or to face a harsh reality is remained to be seen.
I post occasionally on one of the smaller LFC forums & I've regularly defended Brendan Rodgers. I've stated that no other manager in recent history has lost 4 players of the calibre of Gerrard, Suarez, Carragher, & Sterling, in such a short space of time & yet still be expected to compete at the top level. It's all very well people saying he's spent nearly £300 million, but a large slice of that money has come via the sales of Suarez & Sterling, & money has been made available to replace Gerrard & Carragher. It's not like he was given a shit-load of money to strengthen a squad that still had those players in it. & like you say, we're not really in the market to replace like for like. So Rodgers has been left with no option but to go for players that United, Chelsea, City, Barca et al, don't want. So unless FSG cash out to a very rich sugar daddy, I'm excited by Klopp's arrival, but I'm not exactly 'hooked on a feeling' that better days are just around the corner........Here's hoping the big, crazy, German proves me wrong.
I said it many times Rodgers did a good job, if Klopps matches, or somehow betters his second place finish under the FSG regime, then you have the the greatest manager that walks this earth.
If Rodgers is offered the England job then I would be quite happy, he is a very good manger, his only fault was peaking too soon, and talking crap.
i can easily see his liverpool side cause some early-on mayhem if he manages to implement a proper "german" pressing style into their usual style of play, given he might as well be intrigued to grab a few bundesliga-proven players...
They should start selling Mr Sheen in the club shop. For all the turds that need polishing.

A pretty straightforward interview. Nothing out of the ordinary. I think they can win a domestic cup competition but to win the EPL will be an almighty task.

Yep I agree. The players will totally trust him and respect him - a winner with a strong personality...and that is often the start of creating a very good team. I just wish we could have got one of those two. Still, LVG will know the pressure on him is even greater now I reckon. One thing he will know, is that United fans will not appreciate a rising Liverpool moving back to their old perch....!!
We need to get behind the team and the players we currently have. They all have a clean slate now, maybe even the likes of Teixeira will show he is worth a chance.
My main concern is how he is going to knock the defence into shape.
I never thought we would attract a manager like this, everyone is on a high again.

I agree with you but think some stuff is/was surprising to those who haven't followed him over the years. I'm sometimes really baffled how little English media or forum users seem(ed) to know about and project(ed) their own opinions or approaches on him.
I'm with you on this one. However, with a bit of luck and a few new players over he next 1-2 years I wouldn't rule it out completely.
I don't expect him to wear one single time a business suit for a Premier League match. Well, perhaps once around Christmas time, or if he's lost a bet.

I'm still scratching my head how we did not try harder to get klopp. 2 things will happen with klopp, there is too much rebuilding at Liverpool, or we may end up saying we missed out on him. I'm hoping the latter does not happen
I don't think the days when we start paying 180-200k+ are far way. The Boston Red Sox (also FSG owned) paid that to 3 of their players last season (top being 250k) so it's not that FSG are against those sort of figures in principal. We may have to wait for the ground improvements to finish first though (supposedly next June).
Simple - he wasn't available as he clearly stated at the time. He absolutely loved Dortmund and no way was he going to leave on those terms.
A manager many of us liked and felt with. Sad to see that have to change. Now we can only be happy whenever he's unhappy.
From 17th/18th after the first half of the season. Second half of the season they had the 2nd best record in the BL. Read the comments from the Dortmund supporters in this thread as to why they believe the first half of that season was so horrendous.

5th, Gladbach dominated the league in the 2nd half, Wolfsburg, Bayern and Leverkusen followed with good records. Dortmund did well to recover, but still nowhere near as great as in previous seasons.
And the last part of his post tells me that he doesn't really believe what he's saying
